I had a few nice bargains from a cancer hostel charity warehouse in Bicester yesterday : a set of four (new condition) slide out metal baskets for kitchen base units, complete with all the fixings for £5, an asparagus steamer for £1, a beautiful unworn condition butter-soft black leather jacket for Mister CJ for £8 (it was only Autograph from M&S, but it’s very nice), and a small flatscreen TV/DVD to replace the kitchen one which died recently, for £10.

I got a b/n pair of shoes today for £1.50 in the local community chazza. I saw them a couple of weeks ago, was a little unsure, and today they were reduced to half price so I had to snap them up. Beige, slightly pearlised snakeskin effect ballet flats with a flat bow on the front. However, now I've got them home I have a horrible feeling that they might well be genuine snakeskin! The pattern of the 'leather' is irregular and does not appear to have a repeat and some of the 'scales' are curling slightly at the edges. No brand name on the shoes but on the sole it says 'Sohle Synthetik', (which I believe is German, and then 'Made in Italy' in English?? They appear to be very good quality with a fine leather lining with a suede overlay at the inside heel bit. I feel intrigued/horrified and fascinated all at the same time:o

Yesterday, in the city centre St Gemma's Hospice shop, on the 99p rail
I found a pair of Lands End cropped trousers in a stone colour. Will have to put them away now for next summer..... brrrrr got very wintery all of a sudden here.....!

I’ve been looking for jumpers for sons, as they are both suddenly over 6 feet tall. They’re a bit choosy - no motifs, pictures or bright colours.

    Kidderminster, Hospice Shop

Jack Wills, red hoodie, as new - £10
    Slazenger sweat shirt - £5

    Bewdley, Kemp Hospice

Saltrock blue hoodie, appears unworn - £5

    That should keep them warm!

Beautiful blouse in a soft soft rayon , pale mustard I suppose with a cream wild flower motif, Banana Republic brand.
I paid a scary £6 for it but the condition is excellent and the daughter really likes it! It drapes beautifully.

Just discovered this thread, it' amazing to see all the bargains you've found.

I've been browsing charity shops for a while now as we're making a concerted effort to pay down the mortgage and be more environmentally friendly so 'reuse recycle' definitely feels right and all while giving to fantastic causes!.

A recent break has meant I've had some time to pop to a few charity shops and pick up some wonderful items:

Black Wallis mini length skirt with grey geometric pattern £6
Brand new black Next tailored asymmetric dress £7
A pair of dark brown Jones ankle boots for £10
Bright fuchsia pink Jaeger coat with glossy big black buttons £15
Lands End sleeveless dark Leopard print dress £7 and amazing quality
Fluffy caramel coloured snood with black leopard print pattern from New Look £2
and New Leopard print M&S heels for £7
Lots of leopard print! not to be worn at the same time :rotfl:

Not sure if I have the nerve to wear the leopard print dress to work, as smart as it is, though it fits like a glove and I adore it.

These additions should see me through the winter :)

    Happy hunting all

    Welcome. :hello:

    Coveting the Jaeger pink coat.

    Re the Lands End dress:

pull on your big girl pants (figuratively speaking ;)) and wear it.

Or maybe save it for the Christmas works 'do' first.
    Sounds fab.

Some nice things here. I know what you mean about wearing something for work that is so different to your usual work wear but just go for it.

Had a little look around our two local towns yesterday, I saw a lot of things I like but just didn't need so put them back, one was a Next dress which I really liked and saw in one town for £4.50 and the other town 2 miles away for £6.50. I am trying to stop buying more versions of things I already own, DH and I swapped our summer and winter clothes over last weekend and we can barely move things around in the wardrobe and most of the stuff we own is still packed away in the loft. Anyway this is what we picked up yesterday:

Craghoppers Classic Kiwi Trousers in black for DH, he has been on the lookout for this type of trouser and now has two pairs, they are great for walking all year round - £2.25 paid.

Pair of Next cushion covers in a distressed neutral/grey colour with a Shakespeare quote written in calligraphy, these seem brand new - £3 for the pair.

Seagrass waste paper bin for DD's room £2

Boys M&S pj's, seem unworn, stripey jersey bottoms with functional drawstring and long sleeved cotton top with a stag print - £1.50 paid and similar styles selling at the moment in this size are £16.

Animal baseball cap for DH, brown with a worn effect fabric £2.50

BN two pair pack of mens M&S thermal wool boot socks in black, price tag shows £14 we paid £3.

From a second hand market I bought a BNWT Primark wool blend oversized grey cardigan, long length with pockets and no fastenings £1, tag price £12.

Turquoise & coral Mantaray tunic which will be great as a beach cover-up (I'm vertically challenged ;)) £1.00 Air Ambulance.

Dash 3/4 sleeve top in white with navy & red broken stripes. Really nice quality jersey and not too low neckline. I think my Mum will like this with some navy leggings. £3.00 Samaritans
