you have to collect from a standalone store rather than a shop-within-shop concession so I guess, as there are not that many actually Hobbs stores, you would be clocked eventually. Very nice smelly candle tho!)

    "I'm collecting this for my aunty .... granny .... sister .... "
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • If you happen to be in London (& I have the right Hobbs, which is always moot), I think it downright do-able - especially if you target one birthday a month & try to have one favoured assistant at each.

I do love the idea of a Forever Coat, but I think my Army Surplus Luftwaffe Mess overcoat is probably it. I managed to wear it with an arm in plaster, up to 7 months pregnant, as a modest & cosy dressing gown during university fire drills (it left what else I might be wearing Absolutely to the imagination) [all at separate occasions!] - and I found the shoulderboards (epaulettes is far too feeble for those solid slabs of wool & bullion) so I need never try to wear it with a rucksack.

Thank goodness - today found a dress for my parents’ Golden Wedding anniversary lunch (I don’t own any dresses or skirts so it will be on EBAY in a fortnights time!)

M and S Per Una. Made of horizontal stripes of blue and white material with blue “ribbons” between the stripes. As new. £5 Blue Cross, Worcester.

DfV - Swedish men navy coat went mouldy one summer, left on top of the wardrobe! It came from an army surplus place in Birmingham when I was 17 and was dark blue and swirly with gold buttons.

If you folded it in half, you could use it as a sleeping bag!

    Hello All,

    Joining in, if I may.

Called to Cats Protection nearby to meditation class on a whim to see if they had any plant pots, or pots suitable for housing my growing plant babies. Lo and behold set of 2 glazed greeny brown, with indent rim of decent size, no chips or cracks, £4 for the two.
Suit my MiL's Tongue plant and other variegated plant very well so happy with that.

I've been hunting for a small sideboard with fairly specific dimensions to paint for shoe storage in the hallway for an age. Visited a local hospice CS on Friday - nothing doing. Called again on Monday and found just what I wanted and it fits the space perfectly. £45, so a bit more than I wanted to pay, but still less than a third of the price of a cheapy new one. Now painted up and awaiting it's new handles.

Would you believe I go back for my 6 month assessment this coming week?
And maybe talk about t'other foot.
Sorry this is off-topic but had a great review yesterday.
Consultant said my foot looked like 12 months post op rather than 6 months. :j

So - waiting for a date for my other foot.
Will be after New Year so I can go ahead and book my train tickets for Boyzone and Rod Stewart - I'd been holding off until I knew for sure.
  • I was surprised when grand-daughter rang me to thank me for the money. Very surprised as I hadn’t given her any.

BUT I had got her a pair of shorts from one of our charity shops. She’d found two twenty pound notes in a pocket! OK so you’re wondering if I took the money back to the shop? Ummmm....no I didn’t!
  • This is another aspect to the fun of cs shops!

Husband picked up a pair of cords in eldest's skinny measurements -paid £2 & left happy. Eldest tried them on & approved, then shoved hands into pockets and whooped - he'd found a £10 note.

It is nice to give a little something & find is comes with a little extra!

I once bought what I thought was a brand new purse from a charity shop and found a Princess Diana commemorative £5 coin tucked away in a hard to reach pocket. No idea what to do with it...is it real money?

Today's chazza finds......last night a spotlight popped in the kitchen - today I walked into the community chazza to find a basket full of b/n fancy light bulbs of all kinds. Got a pack of 2 Tesco halogen bulbs, just what I needed for 50p. £8 on the Tesco website. Also picked up a few assorted other bulbs that might be useful. Why does every light fitting/lamp have to have different sorts of bulbs or is it just me....I find it very confusing!! Then in the St Gemma's Hospice shop I found a Kaliko white linen midi skirt. Very intricate asymmetrical seaming which flips out at the hem and has a small wrap over split front off centre. As new and on the 99p rail.
