Had a wander round a few shops, bought a Dunn & Co grey Harris Tweed trilby hat. Looks unworn and fits perfectly.

  • Check with Royal Mail that you can send used clothing to the Philippines as some countries don't allow it.

Oh my goodness - thank you for this advice. I’ve just checked the Philippine government website and it does indeed prohibit used clothing. I think I’ll be okay to send new items, but I expect there will be duty to be paid. It’s really disappointing when I’m just trying to do something nice, but you can’t fight bureaucracy! I need to investigate more thoroughly.

Thank you for the replies - the advice is very much appreciated.

Had an epic trek round 25 charity shops in 2 towns and one city yesterday.

    I bought:
a pair of Nike Air Max trainers, very little wear. They are youth sized so I guess they were grown out of.
I've scrubbed the soles with an old toothbrush and they are in the washing machine. £4.59 from The Children's Society.

Also, an Animal small cross body bag in khaki tropical print with pink trim, looks unused. Lots of pockets, perfect for when I go shopping with my trolley. £2.99 The Children's Society.

A Fat Face scarf in a very pale mint green with teal, blue and gold splodges. and tassels. I love tassels. :) £1.99 BHF

A pair of M&S grey animal print leggings, unworn, £2.99

Lots of overpriced stuff (imho) including a pair of TU tartan leggings for £5.99.
With bobbling. I dislike bobbling. :(

Went for a lovely walk yesterday and then popped into our favourite town before coming home. Obviously I had a look around the charity shops and got a few things.

Hollister blue and white check shirt for DS £1.50

Hymn (never heard of this brand) red, blue and white check shirt, more flannel like fabric, button down collar, again for DS, £1

Timberland shirt in red and white checks for DH £4.99 - he now has 16 checked shirts, he was slightly horrified when he counted them.

Canterbury base layer in navy blue 99p - this is for me for winter cycling and running, I have a black one and it is so comfy.

Glamourous bottle green with gold spots sleeveless chiffon blouse with collar and buttons 99p, this is for wearing under winter jumpers.

Gap khaki parka, this is lovely, has a fur lining to the body which is removable, large hood with fur trim, slight fishtail to the back, drawstring to the waist, it did say on the tag that it had a small hole in the front, when I finally found it it turned out to be a very, very small hole which just adds to the style of the coat really - £2.50. Not sure if I will wear this or pass it to DD as her school coat.

Lastly a lidded pottery bowl, meant to look aged and worn, all the glaze is crazed and it has sort of rust spots, sort of dirty white colour with a lovely blue butterfly on the lid, I'm not doing a good job of describing it but it is rather nice - £2.50

    This is it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/273935024356?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=273935024356&targetid=538581631414&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9046683&poi=&campaignid=1669190336&mkgroupid=67214011360&rlsatarget=pla-538581631414&abcId=578896&merchantid=118951446&gclid=CjwKCAjwwvfrBRBIEiwA2nFiPUpQbIuvPDi22uoP2ULR0fey4aCdZCe6rx76wq575a3_fgSaXnu4YRoCuq4QAvD_BwE

WOW!!! Your teeny tiny feets are obviously back in good working order now! I also love tassels...was wearing a peach & white chazza scarf with tassels yesterday. And I hate bobbles too!

Called into the local hospice shop on Friday cos I vaguely remembered seeing a pair of Next dark petrol blue suede heels last week and I want to wear a petrol blue and stone patterned dress to a birthday bash this coming week. Tried the dress with black patent and also beige heels and just didn't look right. Yay, the shoes were still there and a good fit and spot on colouri wise....£3 :)

Yes, all the very best, Pollycat & miword what a heaven sent opportunity to Get Out Of (as much as you want of) Christmas. Although surgery, massive boredom but people will have leave to visit friends etc & since you've been there once you have a clear idea as to what to expect & what to plan for. You even have the footwear ready.

Coughing etc here too much to be encouraged out of the house, so just enjoying offspring expressions as they realise where things have come from. They're drawing up wish lists already - with weblinks so we don't hunt the Wrong Things! Middleson loafing in one of last weeks Yonex shirts, despite not planning on mountain biking today - it's That comfortable!

Didn't take a colour swatch with you, Miro?! (Still awed at that - Blinking brilliant idea!)
