Entire family have been stricken with bugs and I’ve had two migraines in a week so cs shopping has been a bit on the back burner. I did however pick up a leopard print boden velvet jacket for £6.50. This was for dd who has dismissed it as too velvety so it will be going on ebay0

largely due to indolence but also family bickering for my time - not wholly unreasonably.
I faintly recollect a charity shop on The Plain (take the high street away from the main shopping focus & head towards student digs) doing balldresses at almost affordable amounts but that was decades ago & people have wised up a lot to second hand value. [That said, I still have my balldress, whereas the wedding thing went off to a good cause within a decade. Couldn't get into either but plan to be interred in the balldress, so many gleeful memories.]
Given the arrival of The Prom from America I am always happy to see charity shops helping the canny outface the grossly overpriced.
You’ll get to Nettlebed one day, DfV! But don’t leave it too long, as Joyce Grove (the hostel in whose grounds the sales are held) is up for sale and there are strong rumours that it will soon be the end of this bargainous event as there aren’t other suitable premises. If it closes, I will be utterly bereft.
The ballgown place at The Plain still exists (plus another clothes hire/exchange place along St Clements), but it’s expensive. There is such demand from all the local students (esp during summer and winter ball seasons) that they can charge what they like these days!0 -

Had a little wander around our two small towns yesterday with the kids as they were off school. I found a blouse I liked, it was only £2.50 but I put it back, I just don't need anymore and we were supposed to be looking for a few things for DD's new job. She found a nice short sleeved sheer shirt for £1.50 and a plain round neck Next t shirt in black for £2.

Dunno but do let us know if you find out!!!
(Just in case you are serious....you have to collect from a standalone store rather than a shop-within-shop concession so I guess, as there are not that many actually Hobbs stores, you would be clocked eventually. Very nice smelly candle tho!)0 -
