DW Home Heirloom Vine & Herbs Candle - these are an american brand sold in TK Maxx, I am fussy about candles but it was in a nice jar, a decent size candle and had a rather nice wooden lid so for £2 I gave it a go. I have lit it the last two nights and the scent is gorgeous - described as just picked vine-ripened tomatoes with crisp green mint leaf and crushed herbs - good throw and it burns evenly.
This sounds yummy enough to eat.0 -
Same shop also had a pair of BNWT Rohan women's walking trousers for £9 (attached price tag said £65). I was seriously tempted, but they were a bit too tight (not uncomfortably so, but the front looked odd) so I put them back.
It's very frustrating - they are an excellent brand but the shapes are odd.0 -
9 assorted children's books including 4 x Meg and Mog ones, a Harry Potter and The Borrowers and also a lovely stoneware wine goblet ….. £1 the lot!0

Been a very poor week for chazza bargains
Went to the local hospice jumble sale today, (everything £1 or under), but nothing much there either. Did manage to find a nice glass bowl with a beaded edging tho....like the ones Nigella used in her cashmere cardi/heaving bosom days0 -
I have been very lucky to get a selection of bargains of the charity and none charity type today.
Dd (15) is doing a gcse dt project based on the theme of a wedding. She wants to make a keepsake box and various fabric items like a fabric bouquet, grooms waistcoat, garter etc. We decided that using a sustainable source of fabric would be key so set out to find an old wedding dress. For once the CS shops have not been my friend. We have a number of specialist bridal CS Shops and vintage and retro shops where they sell for in the range of £100 to over £200! Most cs shops just don’t have them. Anyway a Facebook wanted request resulted in a lovely lady offering her 30 year old dress which is ideal for the job!
Cs visits today have yielded a pair of these shoes

They are brand new and exactly the same but I paid £5. I then got a pair of brand new fly London ladies sandals £4.49.
My eldest daughter is a nanny to a child who is Thomas the tank obsessed. He always makes our daughter play the role of Sir Topham Hatt aka the fat controller so I could not say no to a large soft toy of said controller for 99p it looks barely played with and will be going in her Xmas stocking for a bit of fun. Second daughter will likewise be in receipt of a wooden plague displaying a Westie ( her dog is a westie) for 50p
A culinary bargain was a large stellar saut! pan with lid for £4.49 and a pair of vintage interlined curtains for £20. These will be going on eBay as I think they will sell well.
To round off our afternoon Dh and I went to the reduced section of a local garden centre and got a hydrangea plant for £3.50 and a large lavender for £1.500 -
bobsa1 - sounds like you've had a good day.
I got a Sainsburys scented candle today, Elderberry & Fig Leaf, I've bought these in Sains when they are half price (£4) so was pleased to get this in its box for £1.99. I find these burn nicely. DH got a lovely Timberland shirt in blue and cream checks for £3.25, similar styles on the website at £70-80, he also got some very dark wash straight leg Next jeans for £3.50 and a J Crew grey, navy and red check shirt for £1, DD is currently wearing this.
I found some BNWT Primark black leggings, extra long length and a label saying 'improved quality', the Primark price was £3 and I paid £2 which I know is not much of a saving but I wear plain black leggings a lot and like I've said before it isn't always about the money for me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
