I bought a few small bargains yesterday a very nice brand new with tags kenmar blouse. It looks like a tk max purchase and with a price of £19.99. Mine for £1 off the £1 rail. I then got a pack of paper chase fancy post it notes again £1 similar seem to be about £8 and finally a brand new joules stripy top with a sort of peplum at the bottom £3.49. I almost bought a Lakeland food dehydrator for £3.99 but put it back. I went back to the shop 5mins later but sadly it had gone. It was totally my own fault but didn’t stop me being sulky!

OMG that really was an oversight! I've learnt from bitter experience - if I'm umming and aahing about an item, I hold onto it whilst I continue to browse (although I appreciate this might be hard with a dehydrator - I'd ask to leave it on the counter whilst still looking). After 5 minutes I'm either feeling the love or I put it back.

    Good buys otherwise, though.

One of our local charities held a jumble sale today with their excess stock. Because of all the festive razzmatazz, it wasn't that well attended, but everything was just 20p. I had a lovely time browsing & came away with 6 nice pieces of costume jewellery, some intriguing bits of clothing & an interesting book. Some of the jewellery will be broken up & re-made, and one of the shirts - red with a tiny white print - will be made into festive bits n'bobs, so overall a total of £2.40 will have kept me & my 2 DDs quiet & happy for days!

Spoke too soon - apparently the red shirt with the tiny white print is going to become a summer dress for DD2!

Its good that people benefit from the merchandise, wherever they are.

3 books for £1 today, only really wanted one that was a pretty journal for writing goals / grateful diary. The two others were a Nelson Mandela biography and a coffee table book of amazing places to visit. I have a selection that are great for rainy afternoons with my little niece - we look at the pictures together and both learn something. I still remember some of the things I learnt incidentally from infant and junior school teachers and its ideal to cultivate an interest in the world early - its not the kind of general knowledge she'll ever pick up through the national curriculum in this day and age.
