I can only think that someone had priced it as if it was made from some sort of acrylic fibre. Anyhoo, their misprice was my bargain...sooo happy!!

Today managed a dash between 7 charity shops, keeping a watchful eye for the 'Green dragon' (parking man with his tickets!!)

Looks like 'the Sprog' has done well (wasn't actually looking for her...)
£2 for Moulton Brown cracker- presumably last years. It's obviously unopened inside. This year selling online @ reduced price of £16.

Davina McCall starter Pilates set - ball , band & pump £1.50- box needs glueing!- ideal birthday present.- contents never used, still packed.

For a sproglet : Bottle top challenge game - all wood -£1.50- currently unavailable on Amazon- but 5 star reviews. Box looks a little used!produced for The Works

    Well pleased
Missed a bargain- but did I really want it? New pair M&S jeans in my size but slim legs (I like boot leg) £1.
5 minutes later- gone! Some one else had a bargain

After my bargain yesterday I didn't expect to find anything on today's trawl of the charity shops in Otley. :D In BHF (again) I was drawn to a Precis black fitted top with a wonky paisley pattern in dark red and white. 3/4 sleeves, fitted into a band at the waist with a slight peplum effect under the band. Had a feeling(!) that it might be silk so had a good squiz at the label and yep...100% silk. Looked unworn and was reduced to £2.24. Trouble was it was a size too big and 'petite' fit, which I am not, but thought I would take a chance anyhoo. Couldn't be faffed trying it on in the shop as it was soooo cold but much to my delight...it fits perfectly. :j

I was also tempted in the same shop by a light brown, biker style, real leather jacket that they have had in the window as one of their 'specials for a couple of weeks. Originally priced at £30 it was also half price today at £15. It fitted and looked nice but I decided I didn't really need it so left it. Also was tempted by a Boden glass liner for a plungy-style coffee pot but couldn't remember if mine was an 8 cup or a 12, which this was. Only 20p in the 20p shop so dunno why I hesitated...I'm sure I could have found a use for it anyway.
  • Just a few things to report in the last few days:

    6 @ 10p old glass baubles (5 teal and 1 round owl)
1 @ £1 calumet photographic camera strap. This will go to my husband for use on one of his many vintage cameras -30+!!!!!
  • An Alys Fowler book 'The Thrifty Forager' just 50p (cost £16.99) and a checked Tu blouse £1 -(still on sale at £16).

I'd handwashed both, and had loads of compliments when I wore mine today. Mum was very happy with hers, plus the new lipstick I'd bought her in a complimentary shade which she wasn't too certain about until she tried it on - it looked great on her as predicted.

Is it not you, Lucy? I have a recollection that you are nearing the 6' mark.

Not sure if you mean me, if someone else's real name is Lucy...? :rotfl:
I'm 5'8, so hardly short but not so tall that I have constant problems with clothes etc

Ignore me if I've got the wrong end of the stick!

It refers back to my posts #1970 & #1975 where I mention a Planet alpaca coat that was too long for me and I said I thought of several posters who I thought may be tall.
I mentioned Miro, Dolly and Greyqueen but not you. :)
