That's a done deal, then, thanks starnac!
Rainy here, as forecast, and the last delivery this week is arriving between midday and 2pm, grumble grumble grumble ... though it makes me get the porch clear, and it will be good to have the deliveries done and dusted.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
So, 99% of all my shopping has been washed and put away, that was really good. Then I "dusted" through the house with the vacuum cleaner, attacking all the spiders in the meantime
Also making plans for next week: driving lesson on Tuesday? don't know, I'll check on Monday that he's back in the country and working again. Day out at the local wildlife centre next Saturday, with the whole of my sister's family, including the toddler **beams happily** and hopefully there'll be a scheduled feeding we can watch.
September! To do:
- core exercises, I need them.
- equally, one of the things I had delivered was tablets of glucosamine/chondroitin, as vegetarian as possible. My joints are in dire need of support - feet, knees, one hip, lower back, one shoulder, fingers, its a nightmare 😁🙄
- driving lessons, Highway Code study and sorting what car to buy. Fiat 500 recently strongly recommended, but I don't know yet if they do a hybrid, let alone a second hand hybrid.
- money shuffle, get it done in the first half of the month, for heaven's sake! No premium bond win, how very dare they. Check download of documents too, I haven't done that for maybe 6 weeks, that's bad. And the time to pay the French tax has come round again. Then back up the computer.
- clear up the garden. Kneeling down to do some weeding, the smell of fox urine, and the closeup view of fox faeces, is unpleasant. The green bin has a great deal to gain from my garden 😄 And I want to plant more! There are chives I grew last year that *still* haven't been planted out. I could do them this month if I used an old piece of double glazing (minus frame) supported by the spare lumber from when the fence was rebuilt. A DIY cold frame, if you will 🌞 I'd really like to do that.
- I've had an idea about using up the stash I inherited and accumulated, to go with the furushiki I made last year: use some felt, mostly red, to cut shapes, and use the massive amounts of haberdashery - tin shapes, buttons, jewellery I've cut up, all sorts of things - to form decorations and the shapes of initials (tiny buttons for that), as well as all the embroidery thread I now have. Five minimum, preferably ten. Like with the furoshiki, I won't do any for my brother, he'll lose them or throw them away accidentally 🤣
- paperwork shredding from when I was self employed! A week over the 7 year limit, it can all be legitimately shredded now. Wooo! Though it will take a while, there's a lot.
- at least one longer term project of tidying and mould cleaning, ready for the winter. I know that sounds disgusting, and so it is 🙄
Leisure: my walks, healthy walks, wildlife centre, spaceflight group on the 12th, the cat is arriving with me on Sunday 24th for 16 days, other things will be arranged, of course. And the genealogy to play with 😄2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
I had a Fiat 500 for about 8 months. My passenger found it very uncomfortable and travel sick inducing on the undulating roads around here. I swapped it for a Toyota Aygo, highly recommended but can't comment on the hybrid version.Mortgage Free November 2018

Thanks both! Toyota is certainly the brand that comes up most often through the Which webpages on facilities and recommendations. I do love the *idea* of Fiat, one of my first memories is being in my grandad's Fiat with him
but I can't even *think* about buying a car on that basis. Back to Toyota! And must text my instructor, I'm not completely sure he's working again, though it seems unlikely he's still stuck abroad (the air traffic control debacle).
Just paid my French tax! E664, its not due till mid October, and there was a button I could've pressed to delay the payment till then, but I'd rather get it done, especially as there's no interest on the French accounts, the odd euro is much more trouble than its worth, when it comes to tax declarations etc. New system was very easy, I'm happy with it.
I've just had what felt like a holiday 🤣 I sprayed insect killer down here last night, and took upstairs my kettle and teabag etc, with a morning flapjack, sat in bed with my kindle, it was bliss 🤣 and I started on the haberdashery stash useage plan, as above, by sorting the tiny buttons - nicely coloured ones are needed, not just the usual stuff. I've got one lot sorted, but that's a long term project.
So, looking at the list above, today's portions will be:
- dishwasher.
- text instructor.
- think about food for the next few days - not only the driving day, but also on Wednesday I'll probably be out to the local county town with my sister, she wants to visit a specialist shop there, and I'm going along for the ride.
- garden weeding! I cut back some of neighbour's leylandii yesterday, as I didn't want to bend over too much, but I might kneel down to pull up seedheads etc on the patio.
- I won't be able to resist doing a bit more on the haberdashery plans, it feels like being 6 years old 🤣

Haberdashery plans sound interesting. Well done for paying your tax early.
I have to admit I love having a cuppa in bed with a book in the mornings. It very rarely happens here which is probably why it feels so decedent.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2003 -
I really love it too! Hen's teeth level of rarity, but all the better for that
Forgot two items for today's list:
- post birthday card
- make Waitrose order, partly for the birthday choccies, partly for household stuff that I choose to get there (teabags and manchego cheese, and I could do with some feta if not overpriced).2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
I love a cuppa in bed too - although mainly when someone else brings it 😂😂 I'm not very good at going back to bed once I've got out of it. Taking the kettle into the bedroom sounds like a great idea!2

It's a popular thing, that's for sure
Big success with my list today, I've done all of it - not very *much* of the gardening, which was mostly pulling up weeds between the crazy paving of the patio (its all been very popular with bees and hoverflies, but its time to go now). And very little of the haberdashery, though I might have a bit of a play later. Even though I'm using the very smallest buttons I've got, they're going to be quite large, quite a bit bigger than a normal gift tag. Which is okay, I suppose! And the Waitrose order is booked for Friday, just in time2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
