I was friends with an older couple (now both sadly departed) who had turned their spare bedroom into what they called the 'boudoir' (I don't think this was the right term really!) - it had a mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities and they took their cereal up every night (a portion in a lidded bowl). Really it was so they could get up and get going before navigating the stairs, but I always thought it sounded like a great idea - a sitting/breakfast room upstairs!
What a lovely thing to do. I suppose it meant they could get up, have breakfast and chill a bit before having to think about the stairs. What a great solution.

@themadvix & @starnac - what a brilliant idea! - I dread the morning (victorian) staircase - steep and worn & prone to slips and falls - I took a tumble down in January and am still doing physio to heal the injuries!!!

Thanks for coming back straight away, starnac, I'm glad you saw the photos :)  It's a great site, a real magnet for people like me, and small children too, there's a public footpath right through the area, which is why it's okay to be on school premises.

Money stuff: I had an email saying someone had accessed my Amazon website yesterday evening - but when I checked, it was my IP address, and at a time when I was online.  I changed the password just in case, and I tried to complete my regular money shuffle using my phone.  Then proceeded to lock myself out of the easy access building society account I use for that, because there's an old password saved on my phone 🙄  so I had to phone the building society and faff around with it all.  Luckily, they were really efficient - Principality.  Positive shoutout!

I won't be doing any garden work today - my knee is vehemently objecting to the idea - but sorting the shopping and the kitchen table will be crucial.  Laterz.
Pleased to hear that.  Sorting out an old principality ISA is on the list...

Great going with your list KC. Are you making the tags for Christmas?
Hiya - yep, that's right, so they can be re-used indefinitely.  And when I pop my clogs, they might take them on for their own gift exchanges 🤣👻🤣

I agree, I don't think it means what they thought it means, but its a fantastic concept 🌞 and it looks like everyone else agrees with you too.  Like RT, my stairs are steep, and I do have to be alert using them, sadly 🤣

peb - yep, Principality were good.  There was a slight blip because on the phone they couldn't seem to use the security questions set up for the online account, so one of the security questions they asked me was how I'd set up this account.  I knew it wasn't in a branch, because I've never lived near one, but as to whether it was postal or online, it was so long ago, I refused to answer - I learned the hard way that taking a guess with a security question leads to a lockdown and all sorts of unpleasantnesses.  But when I refused to answer, they found another security question no problem.

Just had a driving lesson - dear me, I was a bit rough round the edges 🤣  turning left, placement within the road, and looking far enough ahead, the perennial issues.  Not bad for a 2.5 week gap, though.

    September!  To do:
    - core exercises, I need them.
    - tablets of glucosamine/chondroitin, as vegetarian as possible.  My joints are in dire need of support.
    - driving lessons, Highway Code study and sorting what car to buy.
    First lesson achieved.
    - money shuffle, get it done in the first half of the month, for heaven's sake! Check download of documents too.   And the time to pay the French tax has come round again.  Then back up the computer.
Money shuffle done to take advantage of the NSandI offer, downloaded some of the documents, paid the French tax, backed up computer.
    - clear up the garden.  The smell of fox urine, and the closeup view of fox faeces, is unpleasant.  There are chives I grew last year that *still* haven't been planted out.  I could do them this month if I used an old piece of double glazing (minus frame) supported by the spare lumber from when the fence was rebuilt: a DIY cold frame.
    - decorations for the furushiki I made last year: felt shapes, and use the massive amounts of haberdashery - tin shapes, buttons, jewellery I've cut up, all sorts of things - to form decorations and the shapes of initials (tiny buttons for that), as well as all the embroidery thread I now have.  Five minimum, preferably ten.
    Plotting, thats all!
    - paperwork shredding from when I was self employed: a week over the 7 year limit!
    - at least one longer term project of tidying and mould cleaning, ready for the winter.

Leisure: my walks, healthy walks, wildlife centre, spaceflight group on the 12th, the cat is arriving with me on Sunday 24th for 16 days, other things will be arranged, of course.  And the genealogy to play with 😄
Dear me, that's not much!  I've been for additional walks, and I need to clean the bathroom ready for my sister to use early on Saturday morning.  I've also got a small supermarket delivery tomorrow, and I've added 12 1st class stamps.  I never *plan* to use them, but I want them in the stash just in case.

KC - OH has to take shellfish-free (read vegetarian) glucosamine due to a medical condition where shellfish is banned

He (we) are partial to these ones, they come in a recyclable glass jar and are easy to digest if taken just before food.

Personally I'm partial to these ones with rosehip which I find provides extra support for the achiness!

Maybe if you are set on the vegetarian ones, than an extra dose of rosehip may help? - RT

Give yourself a bit of a break KC, it's only just a week into September! And you've done some of the stuff... and walks (as a quality of life thing, not even the exercise aspect) are more important - do them when you can!
