Ooh Edwink, that's great to get a free-ish holiday in Northern Ireland - I have a list, you know
the Giants Causeway, the Armagh Observatory, a few Game of Thrones sites, I think some of my Irish ancestors will have emigrated from Belfast because they went to Scotland first ... lots of my interests, as well as recent history. Sadly, not much of that is going to happen - I'm literally in Belfast for the day, then we're trekking across the Atlantic to Iceland. It's easy enough to get to Ireland in general, however (as opposed to Iceland!) so I'm okay with it.
I've been walking around the house today wearing the walking boots I'd planned to take, but they're impossible - my feet have spread since I bought them, ages ago. Luckily, my sister has some hardly worn ones that aren't wide enough for her, so she'll pass them on to me
Today: I've booked the journey to London and back, got travel insurance through the people that Fred Olsen recommend, and done an hour or so in the garden. Very happy with that.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Iceland sounds fab! Wishing you a thoroughly spiffing time away.

Thanks apple! It's not for a couple of months, but it's taking a fair bit of organising!
ETA EHIC card checked, it expires 20 February 2023. That's 6 months and 10 days from our return. Hmmm. I might do a renewal anyway.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I went to Belfast for a day's meeting once. The two no-miss items were the Custom House (no longer a Customs processing office) and The Crown Liqour Saloon (46 Great Victoria St, Belfast) which was one of the original gin palaces of the 1880s (if a bit of reminiscent debauchery appeals to you). All good fun.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Ooh, I like the sound of those, SL! And the map at your link shows how central it is. And the Customs House looks in absolutely the right place for a walk-by, I'm guessing they don't want tourists mucking things up
Our plan is to get the hop-on hop-off bus, though it doesn't stop outside the cruise ship dock, but near enough.
I've been awake since 5amand spent quite a bit of time collating the information I have about our Titanic bedroom steward rellie. I've now found my separate pile of notes on here, so I have more to do. It's amazing, once you put it all together, the shape of someone's life can really be seen. Their house still stands (very near the Docks, so quite surprising!) so even that can be seen.
Also did the Happy Wheel. Won a total of 68p todayI've now had a return of 35%, at this rate won't be long before my little £5 investment is repaid.
Today:
- a couple of WhatsApps to reply to.
- repot the courgettes
- more weed pulling, as the green bin is tomorrow.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

Thanks madvix - I'm much obliged to you for the Happy Wheel. I'm not interested in seesaw of profit and loss right now, though I may be of course - a steady little drip will do fine just now.
Really looking forward to the holiday, I had a first look at the port of call on the eastern side of Iceland. It's the main artistic, technical, and industrial for the east, and a ferry calls from Denmark. And in 2018, this place had a population of 676. Yep. When they say Iceland is sparsely populated, they're really not kidding!
I've done the WhatsApps, and even repotted the courgettes, which scared me to death I felt so heavy-handedbut I think they're okay.
The only other necessary thing is the weeding - it'll do me good to get out into the air.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
The population may be small, but the % of Strongmen must be very high!
