Exciting morning - sister and I are plotting our travels. She'll do more than me, but we're looking at doing a cruise together - Iceland/Greenland - and birthday party for one of our Norfolk rellies. I was concerned there wasn't enough gap between them, but there's 9 days, should be enough to let me cope energy-wise. My seedlings should all be happily ensconced in the garden by then, and anything that's in the house, I have capillary matting that I could rig to cope. I *know* that will take ages longer than I think it will, so it's all hands to the decks.2023: the year I get to buy a car6

2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Right, I'm not quite sure what to do today, I'm in the middle of so many long term things - cleaning, repairs, weeding, gardening, craft work, genealogy, finances, next space meeting, blah blah.
So! First things first. Prepare half a dozen potting on little flowerpots - which means, drainage crocks, and compost sitting about in a couple of bags in the garden. Check out the AirBNB cottages my sister found yesterday: some are good value, £82 a night, some are horrendously expensive for various reasons, £130 a night. If the rain stays away, cut a bit of grass. I'd like to extend my "treats" cooking by doing a chocolate sponge, much as I like the ordinary Victoria recipe. And I have to stay alert (until 9pm!!! drat!!!) for the Amazon deliveries today.
That'll do.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
Just recently my Amazon deliveries have been coming several hours earlier than they used to, so hopefully you won't need to wait until 9.

badmemory, you're right! My Ryman's order of the printer bought with Christmas money has arrived, and the Amazon order of velcro, cashews and a tiddly optician's screwdriver is scheduled to arrive between 11.15 am and 1pm. Should be good! I've been clearing the porch in expectation, going to cook lunch now so that it's there when I need it
and so I can hang about in hearing of the bell.
ETA - tracking details have changed. Now between 5.15 and 8pm, grrr. Oh well, at least I can go fetch the drainage crocks and the compost.

Plugging away at the little things.
- crocks and the first of the compost collected.
- Amazon parcel has arrived, all present and correct.
- made a traybake of a Victoria sponge recipe.
- Happy Wheel done, no joy today.
- finally saw my nice neighbour from over the road, a good long chat ensued.
- however! Haven't done the analysis of the AirBNB cottages yet, must do very soon.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

That's what I'm planning for next Friday. A basic tray sponge. I will make a slab of sponge and "butter" it with lemon curd. There is more to life than spending 5 hours making Platinum trifle so I am going for shortcuts - not a Swiss roll, not homemade jelly (well, beyond a packet of Hartleys), tins of mandarins, not homemade amaretti biscuits (a bag from Amazon) custard (Birds) with lemon zest and white chocolate drops not shards with peel. I'm making maybe 40 individual trifles... (I must be mad!)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
