How will you use the dried rhubarb? Do you cook it first?Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi madvix, I didn't cook it first, I just chopped it raw and stuck it straight in the dehydrator. Rhubarb cooks *really* quickly, I find, so after a bit of a soak in hot water, I imagine this will rehydrate naturally. It takes up such a small amount of space when it's dehydrated, that's why I like it so much
Currently I'm trying to do what I need to do but no more, so I don't frazzle myself. Dishwasher's on, that's the first part. Here's hoping2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Preparing for the current week ... I must have spent most of the last two days preparing for the trip to this funeral. Staying the night at my sister's, bringing my own food for 3 food times (though we've found out there *is* a wake, we thought they might not be able to afford it with global air fares and being sort of refugees) plus modern pandemic precautions. And a choice of footwear for the funeral itself. It feels ridiculous, but it is what it is2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
Thanks KC. If I invest in a dehydrator, I might give that a go!
Hope funeral goes smoothly.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I do like my little dehydrator, though it takes up a lot of space in the dishwasher, I might have to rethink all that 😛🥴
Funeral went very well - he'd made lots of friends there since he returned to the UK, and the far-flung cousins were all very jolly. We're pretending I'm the matriarch now, though I'd give *anything* to be able to abdicate in favour of my sisterOn staggering back to our homes, it felt more like we'd been to a party than a funeral. And my steadfast avoidance of physical contact went right down the drain, hugs left right and centre. We'll see whether that's okay. Sleep now.

Hope sleep was deep and refreshing. And you remain bug-free.

Good morning all! I didn't catch up on sleep, but I was in bed by 10.30, which was so refreshing. Nothing was done - I didn't even put the bin out for this morning.
So today, already done:
- dishwasher is on, leftover carp from before I went away.
- Lots and lots of recent genealogical information to stick on the family tree, and cousins are getting their own entries in the data files, after all they're all in their sixties with grandchildren of their own. I've done quite a lot of that this morning - woke early, and couldn't sleep, of course.
- checked my seedlings, they live! No wonder courgettes are easy to grow, they're 3 or 4 times the size of anything else
- using the Happy Wheel for the absolute basics is as easy as madvix promised, I'm doing it daily.
And today, to be done. Apologies for the detail, its the only way I can keep track of the bits and bobs.
- as I was repeatedly appointed Matriarch Of All She Surveys, I did actually collect some mobile numbers, I need to send hellos to people and to share them with my sister. And request scans of various things to be sent to my email address.
- check on the seedlings again this afternoon, they're really growing!
- I'll put the washing machine on as soon as the dw stops using water.
- send Order of Service to brother.
- send a birthday card to one of the great-nephews. Still haven't got the hang of sending and leaving enough time to be able to use a 2nd class stamp. That's another two I've had to use, as well as the two from last week. The difference is now 27p, between 2nd class and first class, so that's £1.08 wasted. Which is a couple of weeks on the Happy Wheel! Norty!
- must check the money shuffle is completed, and also send petrol money to my sister, that's a two-fer.
- unpack and clean. An Amazon parcel was due to be delivered just after I left here on Wednesday, and I wasn't sure if the delivery instructions would be followed - parcel stolen, house broken into, all sorts of nightmares flashed through my head
- I'd dearly like to clean the living room floor, however briefly. It's revolting.
- and PS use WhatsApp for the Space Group, they're chatting, and I just didn't have the head space to join in.2023: the year I get to buy a car7
