That's great to get some from greenbee too
I love that. I'll be digging a couple up and letting them acclimatise to that, then sending them onwards to you.
I was so glad I posted on here what I wanted to do - I got very lazy about the dishwasher, because I'd worked hard on the sewing *and* the garden, but the dishwasher is currently on and doing its thing, so I'm very happy. I've found a big envelope to enclose the card, so I juggled all the balls today2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -

Thank you both
Today, posting the card I wrote to the northern family. Then downloading statements, which I've let slip for two months or more - I'm quite aware of what a mess cyber attacks could make of our carefully laid out plans, it'd be good to have up to date proof of my current financial situation, sadly. Then backing up the computer, and while that's happening, doing the little extras that need to go on the end of the net curtains. The extras are made from a Laura Ashley nightie that I cut up when it developed holes and I'd washed it with a red top that ran- let's face it, my domestic performance has been pathetic for most of my adult life
it's quite funny really
Gardening later on - I didn't do quite enough physical work yesterday, and the usual noise from next door at 1am meant I was rabbiting at them (quietly) to no purpose. Better to go to bed exhausted and miss out on all of that. And it's still a pretty good day here!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
nice day here too. Domestic high performance is often overrated I feelMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
Hi Watty - yes, you're so right about domestic high performance! It can be a complete nonsense, for sure. The nice weather didn't last - after I posted my card, it got darker and darker, and there's been some actual rain - good for me, actually, as it helps lubricate each spadeful and makes it easier for the worms to escape. But it does mean there'll be no gardening.
Had a chat with sister then posted the card, set the side curtains up to cut them appropriately, and got sidetracked by catching up with big things to wash in the dishwasher, plus the horrible oven tray from last week. I found new and unusual ways to get rid of the gunk, ways that don't involve flushing down the sink (or the toilet, come to that!).
Lesson: don't wait until the oven tray is collapsing under the weight of the burnt-on crap (I'm speaking metaphorically but feelingly) just clean it if it starts looking dirty. Nearly done now, and dishwasher's on, I'm having a celebratory cup of tea, and then I may watch a DVD
(ie, of course I'll watch a dvd!).

I've been over to my sister today, going through the family photos and splitting them up between the three of us. She mentioned she wasn't needed by either of her offspring next week between Monday and Friday, and we suddenly found ourselves paying for an AirBNB rental in Dorset 🌈😎👍🏻 so I have 3.5 days to get ready. We did it twice last year, so I know it's perfectly possible, and it's not the ends of the earth either. I'm very, very happy to be going away - I don't think I can do anything today, mind you, I'm seriously exhausted. But still happy.2023: the year I get to buy a car8
