Thanks beanie, yes, it is - and today is a social contact day: phone calls with bro and sister, emails that I owe.
It's almost a week since I sent the original Council Tax documentation to Sainsbo - not going to check on it today, I'll do that tomorrow, I'm due to have more news about the new baby2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -

We add stuffing mix to batter when making road-kill toad (ie flat patties rather than sausages) to make it a bit interesting - very filling thoughSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Adding it to stuff is a really good idea - I have a terrible tendency to binge, so at least the mix would be watered down. Thanks for that
Today, I'm getting back into the swing of things a little bit. MW is on, I'm afraid on the hottest wash as my duvet cover is ... needy, shall we say?Frozen food is defrosting: mango chunks, broccoli florets and a HM pea and onion mix.
Plans for today:
- write the emails I didn't write yesterday.
- tidying and cleaning the porch, especially of paperwork, and the last bits of the previous supermarket delivery - I have a delivery arriving in 2 days, sparked by Christmas present rush!
- shower immediately after that to avoid the dust storm!
- SAINSBO omg, Sainsbo. Today's the day, they should have accepted my Council Tax bill by now, so my security clearance for telephone banking should be able to be renewed. And hopefully they'll then tell me that in fact it's all been sorted days ago, and my balance is at nil. And then I'll tell them I want some recompense for the sh!! storm they've put me through, and put in a formal complaint if they don't agree. If they do agree, I'll wait till I've got it, and close the account, explaining that even if they were the last credit card provider in the country, I'd rather rely on debit cards and paypal etc for online transactions.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
SAINSBURY'S MASTERCARD - NEVER TRUST THEM.
So, blokey I got through to advised me to send two ID documents so that they could verify who I was. I erupted. Objected. Had a cry while he was off checking what I'd told him.
Comes back. Letter was sent to me asking me to send a replacement ID document, as I'd sent a bank statement page that didn't have my address on it. So I sent my original Council Tax bill, first class (not recorded - I regarded it as an emergency to get it in the post) that was 8 days ago now.
They haven't received that. And I have no other original documents that show my address, oh apart from some stuff from France about the apartment there, but heaven knows if **foreign** documents are valid for them, they probably want to decontaminate against foreign-ness, if their weird attitudes are any guide.
So now that they've considered to hear that I answered the last letter before it was sent, by sending my Council Tax bill ... I should ring back on Friday to see if it's turned up. Oh joy.
Going out for a walk now, hopefully work off some of the adrenaline so it doesn't poison me again, then:
- send a secure message detailing this latest fiasco. Write it offline and cut and paste, the first one I wrote way back was deleted when I tried to submit it, their systems wouldn't allow the time I needed.
- find the Ombudsman details, because this is not good.
- cancel the dd at my bank, so they don't send anything. I'll speak to them again - a payment would technically be due on the 29th of this month,
I can't believe this is happening. Because they haven't listed any interest, I suspect that they've already proved to their own satisfaction that this is a fraud - but I don't know that, and I have to act as though I might lose that £6746 at any time.2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
They've been saying on the news how bad banks have been getting at dealing with fraud & you are proving just how bad they are getting. What an upsetting shambles. Have you checked how long before you can go to the ombudsman? Definitely threaten them with it though because it costs them money & may put a *** up their rears.

Oh thats a good point, badmemory, thanks!
I went out a walk, very nice in this weather, a good late lunch after that, now I'm going to have a hot shower. I've been starting to wonder, actually, if they're delaying on purpose? Can any big company be quite this bad? Well, of course they can; it's just my adrenalin feeding my paranoia ... but telling them about the Ombudsman, as I've told them I have a crime reference number (which they asked for, and I refused) ... I like that.2023: the year I get to buy a car4
