You are right to balance the emotional energy that it takes to pursue these things. I think I go nuclear more quickly in my choices having worked in a public sector area where we had very tight deadlines for responding to cases that were raised via elected politicians or our Executive Office, so I expect the same level of diligence in responding to poor publicity or escalated issues (it is why using the newspaper aunties is so successful in private sector instances). @beanielou had the perfect storm with the garage (private) the Charity (public funded) partnership with Government and politicians and HRH as patrons. None of whom needed to be sullied by association with a rip off or failing situation.
Having lost their previous CEO after the "We're in the money" singing/humming episode I would have expected them to have ramped up their reputational risk mitigation strategy...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Good on you for exercising balance KC! I'm sure you will manage to sort it out in the end, but keeping your energy in check is so very important as well. Attacking the problem in manageable chunks is a good way to do it if the situation is wearing you out!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks
I refer to what I experience during things like the Sainsbo phone calls (and too many big house spiders!) as adrenaline poisoning
possibly its not only chronic fatigue, but an overdeveloped startle response, which my mum also suffered from. The feeling afterwards is a little bit like you're just becoming aware you've been beaten up (thinking back to demonstrations I've been on, being dragged about by the police) ... so today, because of the booster jab tomorrow, I've been preparing the house - getting tins of food I like out of the cupboard, using the dw and the mw, getting clean myself, tidying - and getting the birth congratulations cards ready to send (they have them for grandmothers these days! I didn't know 😄 no birth news yet except that the father-to-be is being blamed for everything, which seems pretty normal to me 😄

I knew you were a terror on the quietBut I totally get it, I find those sorts of telephone calls really difficult - and no chronic fatigue here.
