It's great, isn't itit's so funny now to see such a young Daniel Jackson, for instance
Atlantis is wittier, very often.
This day was completely miserable! The forecast did not say rain, so I planned to sit outside and work at the garden table while the builder repointed the kitchen. I gave up about 1/2 hour after he started while it was still spitting! He gave up 1/2 hour later when he was getting soaked! He'll be back tomorrow when it's sunny - he's grumpy about working on a Saturday & I'm grumpy about sharing my garden on my day off! We'll make a fine pair
What a pain for you!
The rest of the day was spent indoors chatting with the lovely electrician between my meetings. It was a house full of masks & open windows - I was well impressed with his professionalism & caution regarding the indoor covid safety rules. He also did a fine job of replacing our condemned electric box! Will definitely be taking the time to write up a fabulous review for him on-line.

Re the NHS records thing. I consciously opted in - people like The Welcome Foundation, Cancer Research UK, The Stroke Association, Astra Zenica need our data to help in their research. I accept there is a lot of scepticism with others.
If you are set on opting out and you have downloaded the NHS App to your phone (not the Covid one) you can do it via that app - it also allows you to see and prove your vaccination status, should you need to. When my Doctor's surgery link properly I will also be able to use it for repeat prescriptions (but in the meantime I will continue with the clunky GP system)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2226.88/£3000 or 74.23% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

I’m with SL on this. Given our data protection laws, nothing identifiable is going to be shared with anyone dodgy and the benefits to research could be huge - mass data is what the Zoe COVID study has used and has had huge impacts.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

The problem is that they are going to be able to unpick the anonimity (sp) if you have anything that is at all unique. I think it was the Guardian (usually pretty reliable) that had an article about it this morning.4

I see your point badmemory and it’s certainly an individual choice. But there’s fortunately not much in my health record that’s of interest, so I’m happy to share. You can, of course, reverse your decision too (presumably at any time - for new data, obviously).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

That's a really good point about the research by people such as The Alzheimer's Society needing our data. I heard about this a few years ago, and decided to let it happen because of that very point ... in the intervening time, however, the feathering of nests that's been happening by corrupt politicians and their friends has absolutely incensed me. Maybe I just need to let that go, I don't have anything going on that's particularly unusual - and for the issues I've really cared about (psoriasis, chronic fatigue, that sort of thing) there's been no medical help anyway, ever. Sigh ... maybe I won't opt out.
I've really made a mistake in not keeping up with the gardening - an area I was using two months ago is completely inaccessible now, because of hip-height weeds, and the sweetpeas have formed a dense mat in front of the laurel (that will be quite nice when they flower, but it's not supposed to be like that!). So I did 45 minutes this morning, and I'll try to do some more this evening. Had a walk, but I'm really, really tired and it was too hot. Always somethingI'm going to carry on playing with the genealogy.

Good afternoon lovely ones
I've been having a couple of new experiences, woo hoo. I took some charity shop goods to the charity shop yesterday! Got to my local high street at 10.20, and it was **rammed** - there was a fair on, but it didn't open till midday. I used an alleyway to get to the shop, and the front door was held open, so it was fine. The pavements were worse! Very glad to get home.
Today, my sister and I drove to a local woodland, fantastic views all around, much more rural than our other walk, it was gorgeous. We're practising routes for when bruv comes down in September
Shattered now, so I'm just hanging out, faffing around with UK holiday research. Plus my new sandals have been delivered already, so I might get round to trying them on2023: the year I get to buy a car5
