    It's a bit big, isn't it

Chilled foods and some tins were cleaned.  The rest of it, I'll do today, the hanging around thing makes my little hallway very oppressive.  Sage are out enjoying the sun, thank heavens, and I've got rid of 4 largeish containers of flour with my sister and my niece  :# It's a tidying and decluttering day today, the last one that's kind of necessary - 2nd vaccination was 3 weeks ago today, so I feel safe enough to start taking my charity donations in to the local shops (if they'll take them!  heaven knows).  I'll ring first.  The Council's healthy walks are starting up next week, apparently, and I met one of the volunteers on my walk yesterday, so I need to see if I have to book a place online.  Also need to prepare for potting on the mint plants!

Yesterday I was shocked to learn that one of my germaphobe friends had stopped wiping down her groceries!  I felt duty bound to explain to her what lurks in warehouses - LOL - she may revert to at the very least using a dettol cloth for her tins!

Also received an invite to go for Korean buffet (insert shrieky smiley here) - At least it was met with understanding and compassion when I explained that I'm feeling very cautious about eating out! - TBH buffets bother me at the best of times, let alone now!

...and a huge laugh for you...
...one of my work colleagues who was disturbed that I may be too close to her workspace (a few weeks ago) felt comforted to know that I was doing lateral flow tests twice a weeks... I took evil delight in saying I was slightly shocked that she was not doing the same. - SIGH - returning to the real world is not all it was cracked up to be 🤣🤣🤣 Did I mention we have a plexiglass screen between us and both wear masks in the office when not seated in front of our screens?

Good grief, RT!  I was cleaning my shopping well before the pandemic - I was buying smaller amounts, more often, so the cleaning was easier, but really ... when you think of the rats and whatnot in warehouses (and supermarket car parks!) I wouldn't dream of not cleaning stuff.  I hope she starts again!

How difficult with the Korean buffet!  Korean food is often so tasty, but ... a buffet has lots of people lining up to breathe all over it, of course!  I hear that when the cruise ships *do* open up again, buffets are a thing of the past - you'll queue to be served by a crew member.  That's already happened to us because of a prior Norovirus outbreak.

As for the difficulties of returning to the real world ... I can't tell you how glad I am that I don't have to navigate that in any meaningful way just yet.  I've walked into (and immediately out of) a couple of shops, to deposit recycling etc, and I touch the handles of the stiles on the NT property I go to with my sister  and, um, that's it  :*   It's the high life, for sure

There's definitely been tidying going on, and it's born a few results, I'm almost ready for the mint now, found a nice couple of terracotta pots.  I once again had to start the day by loading the dishwasher :( grrr, getting ahead and staying ahead seem to be beyond me.  Ah well.  With the genealogy, I found the other occupant of a motorbike sidecar that was involved in a serious accident in the 1920s, just a little "tick" in the ta-da column.

Finances: YG survey for 60 points, plus one's come in from pinecone.  Had to send some money into my current account to qualify for the rewards thing of £2 a month, and Virgin are a bit snooty about sending more than £500 (ie they won't let you).  Good job I did it today, I can send the other £100 tomorrow, I hope.  I really shouldn't leave this stuff to the last minute.

Only 500? wow - that's low!  I check my various banking institutions after you wrote that they all say 25000 a day which is a relief& gives me an idea of timelines for transferring the house deposit money to the conveyancer once that gets rolling (hopefully next month!)

Yep, £500 is crazy low, isn't it!  Good to hear that the limits on yours are more reasonable - especially when you're buying a house soon!  Very happy stuff going on there!  I set up my details on there, so at least I could do each transaction quickly, and it gets mixed up with their chat facility - absolutely horrendous!  I loathe Virgin Money already  >:):D:#

I felt I hadn't done much yesterday, but at about 6.30 yesterday evening I remembered why I planned it that way  :D the mint cuttings turned up!  This is the third set, so I'm kind of used to how to do things by now, but it still took me well over an hour to get them settled - I did it straight away, which I'm very proud of, ha, and it's a good job too, they were very, very dry.  Left them outside last night, and they seem fine.

Packing today, for the holiday and for a bit of a thing I might need to go to.

Pinecone money arrived in my account.  £33 there now.

On a whim  I sent some more dosh to Premium Bonds - that would be such fun if Agent Million picked one of my pre-existing ones :)

WeBuyBooks has a 15% coupon offer at the moment, I might use that - and I can use one of the Sarah Raven cardboard boxes to send them in.  I need to check if I've written in them much, I've underlined a lot in the last ten years

Went another walk today, to the local village - there was a completely normal game of cricket being played!  That was amazing to see :)

Another refund from Asda necessary, after rejecting dented tins and plastic bottled vinegar (glass or nothing thank you).  I bought a huge tub of peanut butter, bought it twice before, but the bottom has literally fallen out of it - really not safe to use.  That kind of thing is a strong argument in favour of getting your shopping away as quickly as possible.  I did a lot of stashing and packing today, but the great unwashed in the porch is still the great unwashed in the porch

I deleted hundreds of emails from my main account, some going back years, from Pinterest in particular :) that felt good!

Holiday and trip packing - the stuff you need to take away these days is certainly different from what used to be on the list!  I'm glad I started early.

I've been doing something similar KC & Beanie - Each morning I sort by recipient and pick three to review & cull.  Several hundred a day get deleted! For me I'm taking the same approach as cleaning. Little and often rather than a major project!  Keeps away the feeling of overwhelm.

Aargh, just lost a post - RT, I love the way you're doing that, never thought of that at all.

The last shall be first - I was prattling about cleaning my computer mouse, and the dodginess of it is what lost me my post, a bad button was pressed.

Summary: yesterday was good, chatting, weeding summer snowdrops and cooking a JO chocolate brownie/cake.  Shattered in a good way.  Today: sort the computer mouse, use 3 month reduced rate for British Newspaper Archive, sit in the garden (maybe in the shade) with a book.  All good :)
