KC - if you don't have anything particular in mind for sandals, try this site - I've got two pairs from them and they have been hard-wearing & long lasting. (not all the styles are chunky - some are quite feminine!)

ETA - oops - didn't see your last post^^^^^  - lol - my post now null and void!

Thanks for that, RT :) I'd checked them, M&S and Clarke's - and the ones I went for were the ones that best fit the compromise between thick soles/ no heels/ comfy inner sole/ plain cutting on the top (all for my traumatised tootsies, blame all the ballet)/ and, um, price.  Hotter is the byword for design and quality with my sister and it was for my mum too, and they do have lovely design tweaks - sis has moved on to these people, though, cos of the fit, and I've chosen these BEATRICE, Ladies, Ladies Sandals (widerfitshoes.co.uk) there's an issue with "widefitshoes" and "widerfitshoes" hmmm, let's hope my parcel arrives, for all I know I've chosen the wrong one, though it looks to be right.

I was so hot last night, and I'm so tired because of it, but its been **tipping** down for hours - I'm not impressed.  I don't even have a plan for today, with the rain so heavy I'm kind of trapped in the house - the aim *had* been to start taking stuff to the charity shop, now that it's 3 weeks after my 2nd vacc, but I'm not going to be walking in that for half an hour.

Maybe I'll start by cooking some quinoa.  Frozen broad beans and dried red lentils will take the same time to cook, Bob's your proverbial :)

This sounds familiar... I had plans to mow the front lawn (DH strimmed it yesterday as we did no-mow May in the front garden (hardly anyone can see it, even though it's the front!)), had put a load of washing on and then noticed it's raining! Need to go for a walk and buy sesame oil, but don't really want to do that in the rain! Best laid (non) plans...!

Exactly!  I *do* need to send an opt out form to the NHS for their sharing data with anyone who pays for it, I've had a pleasant little wander around bumblebee identification websites thanks to Suffolk Lass, then it's definitely time for the quinoa/broad bean/lentil scenario :)

ETA I copied this from my post on the prepping thread on here:
"Well that was interesting.  I just phoned my GP practice, since the form I filled in didn't have my handwritten signature on, I wasn't sure they'd accept it.  The receptionist was incredibly informative - in that the situation has been foisted on them without their knowledge or cooperation, they've heard of a cutoff on 23rd June, but they really don't know.  They've had dozens of patients like me phoning in saying they want to opt out.  The practice manager is **attending** (not holding!) a webinar next week to try to get more information about it, so her advice to me was to hold on to the form I'd managed to track down (thanks again, jk0) and ring again in 7 - 10 days.  Blimey."

Going back to sandals, KC (and @rtandon27 ), as a bit of an odd size myself, (small but wide), I find Josef Seibel really good (when there is a sale on), super comfy and long-lasting - although design seems a bit 'elderly' occasionally.

Ahem.  I didn't feel like doing anything, so I watched Stargate: Atlantis  :D but at least I sat with my phone and deleted a couple of thousand emails - all newsletters from finance and psychology people.  Astonishing!

Ooh, thank you Chiglepig!  I've just had a look - they had two, maybe 3, what i'd call "walking sandals", where you're out all day and need something easy - this pair was lurvely Josef Seibel Riley 06 - Josef Seibel my word!  But even though they were in the sale, they were twice what I paid to DB Shoes :(  There're a few there that look a bit elderly, but there's an awful lot more stuff that looks pretty cool, to my eye anyway  :D oops!

Quinoa and red lentil mix a big success - note to self, two portions of that, I need a bigger sieve, it flowed over, ahem.  Frozen veg mix in it, and a chopped hard boiled egg, I did 4 last night.  Happy with that too.

    It's still raining :(

Yes, I do tend to buy at the end of the Summer for next year, but of the three pairs I've had, they've all done five years plus of pretty hard wear, so Terry Pratchett's boot theory of economic injustice in practice! (those roman style winked at me too, but I had a new pair last year and don't need any more.

Gotta love a bit of SG!  We may do a bit of binge watching of L0st this evening - a bit of science fiction usually does the trick for emptying the brain of everything else

This day was completely miserable!  The forecast did not say rain, so I planned to sit outside and work at the garden table while the builder repointed the kitchen.  I gave up about 1/2 hour after he started while it was still spitting!  He gave up 1/2 hour later when he was getting soaked!  He'll be back tomorrow when it's sunny - he's grumpy about working on a Saturday & I'm grumpy about sharing my garden on my day off! We'll make a fine pair

The rest of the day was spent indoors chatting with the lovely electrician between my meetings.  It was a house full of masks & open windows - I was well impressed with his professionalism & caution regarding the indoor covid safety rules.  He also did a fine job of replacing our condemned electric box!  Will definitely be taking the time to write up a fabulous review for him on-line.
