Thank you all! I *did* go out this morning - to the Post Office to return the sandals, and to the charity shop to put a couple of small supermarket bags of stuff in there. Then I cleaned up and cleaned me up too
The garden trip is on Monday morning
Doing very little after that, though I might do some weeding in the early evening. All good hereand my cashew nuts have arrived from Amazon too

Hello lovelies! It was wonderful! It fronts onto a very old sunken lane, and the back is right by the village allotments (not the pond as I thought). There's an acre or so of garden - I literally couldn't count how many flower borders they have. The wildlife pond at the front was buzzing with dragonflies - or is it damselflies? Loads of ordinary tiny blue ones, and some socking great big ones. There are apple espaliers with a couple of fruit cages in front of them - not loved as much as the rest, I'm afraid, very overshadowed. The lady of the house goes to a ceramics class, and she's made some first class garden ornaments - one tarpaulin was held down by Norbert the Loch Ness Monster
My phone needs to charge, but I'll see if any photos are fit to upload.
Too hot to do much in the garden myself today, and tiring to be out in the heat, so I hung about inside, not getting anywhere very fast, just tiddling about, though I was proud I made a decision to send two houseplants to the green bin - just cos they want to grow, doesn't mean I have to keep them. I was running out of windowsill space, and the ones I've kept will have to be repotted - looking after the ones I'm keeping is more important, and I'm gifting a few others as well.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
Sounds like a lovely trip out!
You’re right about the houseplants - better to let go of ones that aren’t bringing you pleasure, but it’s harder when they’re living things. I have some I should get rid of too…Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yep, I'm pleased I've done it - my house, and my windowsills, are for me - it's just like weeding in the garden, really, though a lot less difficult
Killing things is tricky - I don't tackle ants early enough, and yesterday when we took the green bin out for the binmen to collect, ants were laying their eggs directly underneath. I couldn't use boiling water on them like the neighbour suggested, and 15 minutes later, problem solved - a blackbird came down and filled his tummy good and proper. Very happy with that.
