Game of Thrones is basically the Wars Of The Roses with added dragons
ETA: plus dead people running about. There was none of that either in medieval England
I saw a very short trailer snippet once but as soon as I saw it had dragons I knew it wasn't for me:rotfl:. Also, it looked very gloomy, wintry and grey, sort of Scandi in the worst possible way. Another reason not to watch it;). Nothing wrong with Scandi TV as I love some of their detective drama series but GOT looked like a step too far for me:eek:0 -

but I have to tell you, the average age at this "healthy walk" is about 75, and some people sometimes have crutches. Even for me, its not exactly challenging ***
but the truth is, its a very regular local link, and I don't have any at all, so its quite precious to me. And the most staid looking pensioners have sometimes had the most exceptional lives. One very nervous lady who continually apologises to me (for breathing, sort of thing) lived for 8 years in Nepal. Nepal! Fascinating people to talk to
that's healthy in itself!
*** actually, when I started, a couple of years ago, it *was* challenging, and tired me out for the day. Now, its a doddle, I'm relieved to say.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning! Just, at any rate. Last ever episode of GoT ... kudos to George Martin for not doing the expected things, though I know he got all sorts of flack for it at the time.
I'm doing little bits at the moment: cooking kidney beans I put on to soak yesterday, emptying a plastic crate and rehoming the previous contents so I can put the family photos in there.
I have to send an email to the Egyptology lot, to try to see if a trip in March is booked up yet. I've also realised there's a big chunk of mostly French paperwork sitting in a cardboard to-do box on the desk, so I need to integrate all that. And I need to open up the phone that was delivered yesterday and charge it so I can get it to do its thing. And I have a sort of competition going with my sister to see who can build a hospital bag first - after all, we'd be the ones rooting through each other's homes if either of us needed a hospital stay, and an elderly friend of hers more or less told her to do it :rotfl: I'm assuming I'd be doing it for her to take the strain off her daughter, though I didn't actually say that to her so she thinks I've gone a bit batty2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes, it was a bit of a shocker Beanie. We had three and they all dated way back, so to be honest didn't expect anything at all. :money:
I am studying a Masters in inclusion. It's a topic close to my heart, so thought I would give it a go. I may stop after this first year, but I am enjoying the reading and it really has opened my eyes about what I thought was inclusive and my own practice ( which to be fair is basically non existent at the moment)
I am at a bit of a crossroads and rethinking a few things, so the money will be a good back up whilst I have a breather. It's been a hard year as it has for so many, but a good year in other things/:o0 -
I will do.
We haven't many years left on the Mortgage and contemplating paying it off this next year, but life being what it is we may not be able to do so and in which case I will start a diary.
We were with Northern Crock and have been passed around the house since they sold off bits. So would be happy to pay it off and say a big 'up yours and your scraggy backhand dealings.' I have always been a tad militant0 -
