    IT IS NOT A FINE
    Its an invoice. Nothing more

ALso they cannot add £100. Assuming it is the stndard £100 it is reduced to £60 for early payment, but goes back up to £100. They cannot just add on £100, check the letter more carefully.

The charge at present is £60. The Final Reminder letter which was our first notification states.. "The overdue Parking Charge Notice will increase to £160 in the first instance of further action."

That’s against the BPA code of conduct and in itself is a winning point at POPLA.

Nowhere on the letter or email does it state the actual charge. Only when I go to the Brit site as if to pay does it state that the fee is £60 plus £1.50 charge for cards so I have taken a screen shot of that and saved it together with the photos they used of the car. The Final Demand (first letter) received states DO NOT IGNORE THIS NOTICE. THE DISCOUNTED PERIOD HAS NOW EXPIRED. That was the first letter to the keeper of the vehicle. It is as I said on that same letter that it states they will increase it to £160 in the first instance of further action.

I will copy both of these to prove they are adding on monies and send to the people you suggest. That much I can do and thank you for your help with this.

The email from them seems to refute all the details in that appeal with regards to BPA approval of signage and the POFA part too but as you know I am having trouble understanding all that. To copy it as it is knowing it isn't relevant doesn't sit right with me. I will see if I can find someone to help me with it but in the meantime will send all to the agencies and even my MP if I need to.

they only play by their rules ..... good people such as you self often take a while to grasp just how underhand they are

you should write to your MP ... some are willing to help ...

and if you would like to help then you could tell 'Which ' all about your experience ...

I am certainly happy to give back any help I can and will go to Which to see what I can do. :) I'm just no good with legal jargon my brain seizes up.. hence the PoPLA fear, but I can answer questions honestly and also submit the truth to anybody that wants it.

Cut and paste the example you’ve been given. Then add that you are being charged a fee for using a card that is now unlawful. If you say something they have to disprove it. Guess what, they can’t and I bet they won’t want POPLA to see that letter.

Then add a sentence saying the initial fee is £60. This rises to £160 which is contrary to the BPA code of Practice.

    Job done.

the £160 will be £100 + £60 debt collection charges , NOT £160 for the ticket

the BPA have stated that companys can add reasonable collection charges , once past appeal stage (not before)

If I go to Britannia Site now to pay it is £60! That is the fee right now! plus the card fee ofc. The overdue Parking Charge Notice will increase to £160 in the first instance of further action is stated on the paperword received in the post. The fee is not £100 at this point! If I pay now it will cost me £60 and it is all over. That is on their site and I've taken copies.
