Moll, I love that you've had a penpal so long. I used to have a lot in my teens but only one remains. There's nothing quite like comign home to a handwritten letter on the doormat!
I agree , I do still have a few pen pals ( It seems to be reviving again which is nice) but only this one that i have a lot of contact with , ( We "Talk" most evenings on the internet) is your pen pal English?0 -

Im so not interested in football, other than at a superficial level (I am pleased when England do well, but I am not interested in the details).
Last week, I had some stain removal done at my dentists. The staining was from tea and coffee and luckily, most of the staining was on the insides of my teeth, so it wasnt visible. But I am pleased I had it done.
I finish up work next week. Although I cant wait to leave, i am nervous (and excited) about my new role. Am really looking forward to my week off, although my time is quickly being filled with errands.0 -
Hi everyone,
Still reading & not posting as much as I should.Have lost 2lbs of the stone & a half I need to lose so far. Seems to be about 1lb a week which is good as hopefully it will stay off. Have been doing yoga, going on the cross trainer & trying to walk more.
Logging everything on MFP is definitely making me think about what I'm eating & stops the random biscuit eating. Went to C0sta coffee with my mum last week & ordered a mocha without thinking about it. Nearly died when I logged it in MFP & it was over 200 calories.:eek: I'll be more careful next time! We thought we were being good because we didn't get a cake. :rotfl:
:hello: new people :hello: Always good to see new names.
Chanie Hope you enjoy your week off before the new job.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -

Sorting through my rubbish0 -
Moll it's over on the old style board. Kon Marie 2018 - The Magic of Tidying Up.
Well I'm done for. All this sorting, wrapping, packing and labelling is wearing me out. Time for a rest. It doesnt sound much but I'm averaging two large boxes per day, decluttering as I go. I should have a nice little haul for the charity shops by the end of the week.
Mortgage offer recd ok. Have now instructed a full building survey. Things are cracking on.
Going to have a break for an hour or so, load another box, cook a nice healthy dinner and then my body will be screaming for an Epsom salt and lavender bath. :rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone,
I've been reading but not posting as things are not great at the moment. I have a lot of stress in my life and as a result I look 10 years older and I'm eating badly. I am going on holiday in August and need to do a crash course in fabbing I think.
I've decided my holiday clothes will be built around tan, navy, white and possibly orange so it should be easy to pack suitable clothes. I bought a few tops and some sandals plus a beautiful navy and white bag so I'm getting there. If I could lose the eyebags it would be good!
I am taking inspiration from you all!0 -
Hello LW. Good to have you back. I was wondering where you were.
Sorry things aren't too good for you right now. Stress is awful isn't it, it does terrible things to our bodies. I do hope you can Resolve some of the issues that you are currently dealing with and start the healing process.
In the meantime go and have a fabulous holiday, a good rest and a change of scene will do you the world of good of that I'm sure. Your colours sound fabulous.
You've got a few weeks to prepare so I suggest some TLC and fabbing, most of which you will be able to do at home. It doesn't have to be expensive salon treatments. Maybe a nice haircut.
Are you sleeping. I'm guessing maybe not too well re the eye bags but it could also be that you need to try some lymphatic drainage. If you google eye massage you will find some videos how to do it. Plus drink lots of water to help drain the fluid build up and flush out your system.
Also you can practice make up techniques to camouflage eye bags. I swear by Touch! Eclat concealer but it is expensive.....maybe buy it at the duty free.....Kiko and Aldi do great versions too.
Have you tried the cold spoon trick. Exactly what you think. Hold a cold metal spoon over the offending area for a few minutes to reduce puffiness.. And of course our old friends, cold cucumber slices or used teabags.
Well I've decided enough is enough......my fibro is really bad these days and even massages aren't helping much. Don't know whether the acceleration is just temporary stress related or whether it is the conditions natural progression but I'm struggling, it is really starting to impact my life now.
I have decided to try acupuncture.....prompted by the acupuncture thread. I have had acupuncture in the past for an unrelated problem and it did work. I didn't know it is also used to alleviate fibro symptoms and arthritis. It simply didn't occur to me. Duh.:o
Anyway I'm going to give it a try.....what have I got to lose, apart from my pain and yes, dollops of cash because of course my useless GP won't refer me. She doesn't agree with complimentary therapies, she would rather pump me full of drugs which only upset my stomach and make me feel like death warmed over. Rather than risk some dodgy back street practitioner I have self referred to the Nuffield hospital.
When I move I shall definitely be finding a new GP. I can't take her seriously....she is at least 5 stones overweight and then has the audacity to lecture her patients on healthy eating......:rotfl:0 -
LL My mum swore by acupuncture for athritis relief back in the late 1990s / early 2000s - hers was in her neck. Can you see another GP in the practice for a referral? The practice manager should know who is best for what (gynae, ortho, elderly etc).2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
