Hello Ladies,
I had a really good evening with Wayne at Karaoke last night. We did a lot of talking and dancing together. One of my female friends also came to Karaoke and we had fun catching up with each other and having a laugh.
I sang 3 songs last night:
1. Return To Sender by Elvis
2. It's Now Or Never by Elvis
3. No Matter What by Boyzone
This heatwave is difficult for me, as I always suffer from heat exhaustion. I do have my Factor 50 and my designer sunglasses which really helps. The pollen count is really high, so my hay fever will also be another problem for me to deal with.
I gave my kitchen a good clean last week and I did my bathroom today as my sister J is coming to stay for the weekend from her home in Sunderland. She was determined to be part of the birthday celebrations for my son's 18th.0 -
Lessons how exciting that your DGS will soon be here.
Sugar I wish you and Wayne every happiness.
Floss do you floss dance (couldn!!!8217;t resist).
When I got my new wardrobe, I kondo-ed my drawers, so all the clothes were facing upwards and I realised I had such a limited colour palette, with lots of dark and neutral colours. I really want to change that and wear more colour, even though I am a little bit afraid of bright colours. Although I haven!!!8217;t had my colours done, I have concluded that I am an autumn and these are colours that I seem drawn to anyway. So, today, I ordered a few bits and pieces in my colours. One colour I am drawn to is mustard, as it seems to be quite popular at the moment. Although its an autumn colour, its not one I have ever worn, although I am keen to try it out. I have already benefitted from the khaki popularity and have lots in this colour.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
I have what I think is a 'fabbing' tip, it's one I thought of myself, but that's not to say no-one else has thought of it. So apologies if I have repeated anything.
Always wear sunglasses when out in the sun. Not only to protect your eyes from the glare, but also to stop you squinting and causing wrinkles.
LL, thanks for the tip on posture. I never even thought about the widow's hump. My husband always says to stand up straight and tall, he says it makes you feel better (which it does). Like the old Val Doonican song : 'Walk tall, walk straight and look the world right in the eye'.
Hope this helps.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

It!!!8217;s been a scorcher here in London today, but I was at a conference for work, so I got to enjoy the sun.
I did a bit of retail therapy whilst out, as I was near Westfield shopping centre. I bought 2 t shirts and a pair of culottes. I tried on a couple of tshirts in Lindex which I desperately wanted, but they were so thin, they were see through, so I left them. It!!!8217;s a shame, as they were nice colours and fit nicely.
On my way to the conference, I stopped off at Sainsburys and saw that the top I bought yesterday was in the half price sale. Needless to say, I bought the top at the reduced price and returned with the original receipt, saving £4.
Im working from home tomorrow, back in on Thursday and then thats it for me. Im looking forward to having next week off, I just hope the weather is okay.0 -
Hello Ladies,
Chanie thanks for your good wishes. Wayne and I are getting along much better, so we may even work out this time round
I went to Karaoke on Tuesday night to find there was no Karaoke, it was a party night. I had a great time dancing the night away until 11pm.
I spent most of Wednesday with Wayne as he was not working. We had a really good time together.I also had to wrap the last few presents for my son's 18th Birthday today.

Good morning ladies.
Well I'm not much of an advert for fabbing today.ha ha. I'm filthy, hot and sweaty. I have just taken a car load of clutter to the tip. Then, after breakfast, I'm going to carry on sorting out the cellar and kitchen. So I shall stay filthy for some time yet. :rotfl:
I shall have a nice fabbing session later. I've wrecked my nails of course so I will have to sort them out.
Have a great day, it's glorious again. Just going to give my tomatoes a drink and then have something to eat......I'm starving. :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone , We had a bit of a scare here, My DD is pregnant ( Baby due Nov) and when she had her first scan , they put the fear of god in us saying everything was wrong , they even suggested the baby might have a thing called "Edwards Syndrome" Id never heard of it , Look it up ,its horrendous and the baby dies !
Soooooooooo to cut a long story short , before her next scan , we paid for her to go private and have more intensive tests done , to see what was what ,,,,,,these came back clear ?????????? said the baby was low risk for anything wrong ???? As you can imagine , we was relieved , but i was still worried .( How could 2 tests be so different ? ) Anyway she went to the hospital on monday for her routine 20 week scan,we all waited with baited breath......and its all fine , I wanted to make a complaint , someones head should roll for putting everyone through all that worry , but DD said it was ok ? as long as the baby was ok she wasnt bothered. ,,soooooooooooo its all systems go again , but as you can imagine the fabbing was a bit hit and miss, Today im back on track , went to the chiropdist and had my feet done , so if i get run over , my feet will look nice . Im same as LL and done a lot of de cluttering , took lots to the charity shop . lots on a local bidding site , magazines to the doctors surgery , and DH has trimmed our BIGGGGGGG tree and taken it to a friends who are having a bonfire , so we didnt have to go to the tip . Love hearing all about what you are all doing , Im melting here in Derbyshire ,but the washing is dry x x0 -
I'm melting too, Moll. Derbyshire is lovely but so far from the sea ...no cooling sea breezes.
I'm clearing the kitchen and cellar. 3 more bags in the car for the charity shop and another big box packed ready for moving. I'm so hot though, I need to have a break. Hopefully do another box later.
What a worry about your daughter. That was shocking. Even after two further tests saying everything is ok, you must still be a bit concerned. I know I wouldn't be fully relaxed until the baby was here.
My DIL is due any time now and I won't fully relax now until it's over and he's here. She's huge now and very uncomfortable. She's only a small girl and I keep hoping the baby won't be too big and that she doesn't have a rough time.
Honestly we never stop worrying about our loved ones do we.0 -
Hi all,
The temperature is ridiculous today, I think the high was 33C. That never happens in Scotland. I've mostly been hiding inside for fear of burning to a cinder.Got to go to work tomorrow though.
Moll That is terrible about your daughter, you must all have been worried sick. She really should file a complaint in case they do the same to other women but of course it's her decision.
LL Your poor DIL will really be feeling the heat, poor thing. I was so uncomfortable when I was heavily pregnant last summer & the temperature wasn't anywhere near what it is now. _pale_ I hope everything goes well for her when the time comes.
New babies are so exciting, I would love to have another. My DS is hard work at times but he's such good fun.
Chanie Enjoy your time off work.
We're off to visit the outlaws for a few days on Sunday so hoping it's not too hot as it's a long drive (7 hours +). They are mega excited at getting their hands on DS for a few days. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hello Ladies,
Moll that whole scenario sounds like a nightmare. How did they manage to get the scan results so wrong?Thank goodness you could afford to get the other scans done privately and all of your minds could be put at ease.
LL you are really making great inroads for your impending house move.
I have had a really good day celebrating my son's birthday with him. He chose a new mobile phone as his preferred main gift from me. He enjoyed opening his other gifts and the few birthday cards that he has already received.
Myself, my son, my younger daughter and my grandson went to a Caribbean/Nigerian restaurant for a steak, chips and cocktail meal which was absolutely delicious.:D I had Groupon vouchers so it was a very affordable meal for the 4 of us. We had the added bonus of having some live music event taking place in the restaurant so we were able to enjoy that music as we ate. :T I had got prepared and bought a new 64GB memory card for my camera, so I took some good photos of us all in the restaurant.
We are all looking forward to Saturday's family celebration meal.:D
I am spending the day with Wayne tomorrow and looking forward to continuing to talk to him and enjoy spending time with him.0
