    Hello Ladies,

LL I look forward to reading your restoration blog as well. :)

I went to my local Odeon cinema today to see the film Book Club. I enjoyed it up to a point, as it made me laugh in places, but I personally would not recommend this film. I would only give it 5/10 I used one of my Groupon Odeon vouchers which originally cost me £5 making this trip to the cinema very affordable for me. :D

I then came home to rest for the remainder of the day and evening. I spoke to Wayne this evening for a short time, but it was a laughter filled conversation. :D

My son's chosen present from me of a Samsumg Galaxy S7 Edge mobile phone arrived today and he was so happy. :D
  • well today i nearly caused serious damage to self with meat cleaver, no stitches just loads of pressure and bandages. i will have a messy time with dressings for a while but so lucky not to cause massive injury. i am so clumsy. the neighbours must have wondered what the hell the noise was. how and ever these things happen but i need my hands for work and its an inconvience.

I have been rather good recently and not bought anything new. i tend to try and buy quality items rather than lots of cheap goods. i prefer a second hand good item verses the pile of primark, that i seem to have to put into a charity shop collection a few washes later.

i have amazed myself with being restrained in buying stuff for the new move, partly because i have a lot and also in the past i rushed out and deeply regretted some things when i got them home. i am obsessed with bright interiors and a lot of the stuff i own is dark. so i will be getting a lot od practice painting in the near future. its best to learn from mistakes and plan plan plan ahead and just not jump into anything. i really thing redoing what i have will be therapeutic as it will change mistakes into treasures.

i didnt wear any make up and i was grateful as the a/c seemed to be on the blink or not able to cope and it was really warm.

LL the saying was about persistence always pays off. i always liked it.

    Good morning everyone.

Ah Persistence Pays Off...that was one from a business training course. But, yes I really like that one, I guess because it so true. Just like Winstin Churchill's one "never, never gave up".

They both mean roughly the same thing - consistency. Which is really partly about what this thread is all about. Gentle easy small changes to our routines, which done consistently, will compound over time and bring the results we want.

I too love painting. I also find it very therapeutic, I get in the zone and just relax and enjoy it. Plus of course I love the transformation. My new house is quite dark and gloomy but it won't be when I've finished with it.;)

Had my second acupuncture yesterday. Again no dramatic miracle cure just a slight easing of pain and some increased flexibility. Hopefully over time we will see the compound effect at work and should see some significant improvements over the coming weeks.

No baby yet......DIL is fed up now, uncomfortable and rather emotional, she gets very tearful and can be somewhat volatile. Well she's always volatile :rotfl: but it's even worse at the moment. We are all treading on eggshells. Hopefully not too much longer. I do feel for her, Its not been the easiest of pregnancies and I can see she's had enough.

 Hello All! Just checking in as back from my holiday yesterday.

There's no way I can catch up on almost a month of chat so I hope you are all doing well and look forward to getting back to our fab ways.:)

I felt that I really looked my best on holiday thanks to this thread and all the fabbing routines we share. I've now got a super tan and my hair is looking very blonde. The plus side is that coming back to good weather means I'm not coming down to earth with a bump.

The downside of a holiday is that I invariably eat (and drink:o) far more than I would at home or perhaps more correctly eat different things which means I must have put on a few pounds. I did a quick Aldi shop yesterday, mainly for fruit and veg, so getting back to healthy eating is my first fab step.

Look forward to catching up with all the news.:A

Hmmmmm. Good thinking. He will be Alexander Robert (Robert after my husband). Not sure what we can do with that.

    Lexi Lodge? :)

Nice names though. My husband is also called Robert.

(although almost no-on calls him that. Most people call him Bob, me and my family call him Rob, and his cousin calls him Roberto, because that's what he was called when we lived in Spain :) ).

Maman sounds like youve had a nice holiday

    LL Any baby news ?????

Hope everyone is coping with the heat. Been to a funeral today , The lady was 95 and had dementia for last few years, but still very sad for the family . The couple we know ( It was her Mums funeral if you follow what i mean ) Her husband took ill last night and had to be rushed into hospital . Hes got stents fitted , and something went wrong with his heart, Luckily hes ok , they managed to repair the damage , but what a day to fall ill !! Just got back from visiting him in hospital, My DD goes for the 2nd half of the scan tomorrow ( The lower half of the baby that they couldnt see previously) There shouldnt be any problems , but ill be glad when shes back and we know for certain , Busy weekend for us , as its our village Gala , and weve all been helping in some way get everything ready , putting marques up etc , Theyve hired an 80 inch TV screen too so they can show the football , Hope we win. I never watch football , but love the big England games.
On the fabbing front , ive been and had electrolsis done on my face
( chin area) , to get rid of the hairs , as if theyd have kept growing , id have looked ore like Paddy Mc Gintys Goat. Luckily we have a beauty salon in town that does it , £8. 60 for 10 minutes , but thats all it takes ,

    Hello Ladies,

    Welcome back Maman.

I have had a really quiet week so far, as I over did it last week. I have been on painkillers every day, but I have had lots of rest and I am slowly getting back on my feet.

I am going to spend some time with Wayne tomorrow as I have not seen him since last Sunday and we are both looking forward to seeing each other. :D We have been keeping in touch with each other with texts and short phone calls. :)

I am having a peaceful evening as my daughter is working and my son is having a celebration meal in a Thai restaurant with the other 6th Form leavers in Covent Garden. ;)

I know a few of you are in London, ill be there for a week at the begining of August with a friend , weve done this for over 20 years at this time of year , so weve done A LOT of stuff, ........... mudlarking on the Thames , the boat rides , all the local attractions , but we like the quirky stuff and try to find new things to do , Any ideas for us this year ??? One thing we intend to do is a Cat Cafe, as weve never done that , but we are open to absolutely anything, one year we went looking for all the blue plaques ,another year we went looking at "Topiary" is that the word , people had done thier hedges and bushes into objects like animals , Last year we did a "Rooftop Cinema" , at night , that was brilliant , we all sat in deck chairs lol , Lovely as it was hot then , but weve run out of ideas,,,,,,,,,,, anyone know of anything we could try? we get an Oyster card for the week so can get pretty much anywhere on the tube , If not its ok , we enjoy just walking around, ( Believe me i need the exersize )
