[QUOTE=humptydumptybits;
Just wondered if anyone has tried Aldi moisturisers? I needed a night cream and picked up their Soy night cream for mature skin, I think it was under £2.
i use all the Aldi skin products, i think they are brilliant , and can really see a difference in my skin when i dont use the moisterising cream , Also a few years back one of the magazines did a survey , gave women all kinds of moisterisers to use , some dead expensive and some cheap , but they didnt know which they was using , Aldi came out top in everything , I expected the price to sky rocket once they published that , but it didnt . They kept the price cheap0 -
Hello Moll.....welcome to our merry gang. I'm sure you will be very happy here.
SUgarbaby. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but on a positive note at least you now know what you are dealing with so perhaps you might be able to work out a treatment plan to manage your symptoms.
I am currently reading a book by dr Michael Moseley called the Clever Guts Diet.
As you know I have problems with IBS, Gerd, fibro and arthritis, adrenal fatigue and thyroid issues, These conditions are all interlinked and inflammation does play a significant role, especially when I have flare ups. I know that for me it's all diet related. This week I have eaten wheat and potatoes and I have really suffered quite a bit of joint pain, muscle aches, stomach discomfort, exhaustion and headaches as a result.
So now it's back to strict paleo and lactose free. It's hard work at times sticking to my regime but it's the only way I get to keep things on an even keel. I went to Aldi today and stocked up on healthy stuff. :rotfl:
I've had a busy weekend....lots of sorting, decluttering and prepacking. I think that's going to be my main occupation this next few weeks, although I'm having a day off tomorrow to have lunch with a friend. Just have to make sure I avoid grains, easy enough at home but eating out can be a bit hit and miss at times.0 -
Im looking forward to getting to know everyone . Ive been thinking , and one of my main goals is to de clutter and get my house in fab shape too as well as me , Ive been steadily sorting and de cluttering now for about 8 weeks , Anything i find that is still usable ( Lotions and potions etc) get used , any other stuff ive been putting on a local facebook bidding page , .You mostly only get £1 for it £2 if youre lucky , but its surprising how the money mounts up , ( Putting it towards my holiday in July) and it works both ways , ive had some brilliant buys off there too. i really look at a thing now ,,,,,,,,do i want it ,,,,do i need it . I still seem to have a lot of stuff around , but its looking better . and you always feel better when the house is nice and tidy. Everyone comes when it looks like a tip dont they , Mind you they come back , so i suppose thats all that matters. Anything that i dont need and cant sell , goes to the Sally Army charity shop in the village where we live ,0

Hi there everyone.
Well I have now lost 2.5 stone and have just realised that if I do the same until Christmas, I will have lost five stone and will be not only below my target weight, but the lightest I have been for decadesHowever, weight loss slows down as you get lighter, but luckily the WW App that I use adjusts my 'points' accordingly so I know how much I can eat and still lose weight. I have 'tracked' my food and activity in my app religiously for the whole six months and have lost weight every week apart from one, when I stayed the same (after two blow-outs in the same week).
I have found the discipline of tracking in the App has helped me enormously, far more than going to meetings, because I'd often miss the meetings because I had more exciting things to do and then get into 'failure' mode and go off track.
I think everyone has to find their own way and this way work for me.
There is no way I could do that 5:2 diet, I could not cope with the fasting days. However, I know a lot of people swear by it. So each to their own.
Just thought I would share, hope it helps someone. xx(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Sugarbabe, sorry about your diagnosis, how awful for you
Welcome Moll. Good luck with your decluttering.
LL, I too gave a nearly new pair of shoes to the local charity shop because they hurt. Why did I buy shoes that didn't fit? Crazy!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

WOW well done , Im doing SW, ( At home not group ) but i think portion sizes is the key . ( I eat good stuff but big portions) and WW is better at getting you to stick to portion sizes , I used to go many years ago to WW , but when they changed over to the new points system ( Well it was new then lol ) i couldnt get on with it ,
Really proud of you , thats some achievement in such a short time x0 -

Hello Ladies,
Welcome Tete and Moll
7DW you are doing great with your weight loss. What your doing is working really well for you.
I met up with Wayne in the pub. He really hacked me off. For some reason, he decided to ignore me for most of the night.I completely lost my temper with him on the way home and was screeching at him.
I told him in the end calmly that there was no longer any point in trying to be friends with him. I have a busy life and I have very real problems to deal with, so I do not need him stressing me out. Even when I asked him for an explanation, he was unable to give me one, he was simply bleating on that he had not done anything wrong.
I went to Karaoke last night and I had a good time dancing and I sang 2 songs as I chose not to let Wayne's odd behaviour spoil my night out. I sang:
1. Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You by Andy Williams
2. Return To Sender by Elvis
As the weather was a lot colder in London last night, I was able to wear my ankle boots and I can dance a lot easier in them, because they have a stockier heel and I can maintain my balance more easily. I was so happy to be able to stand up and dance, rather than having to sit down and dance.
I layered my perfume with the matching body powder and body lotion after a long pampering bath with Epsom Salts with Lavender, Dove Argan Shower Oil and The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel.0 -
Its been a nice day here , managed to get all my washing dry outside again , I was going to suggest going out for a takeaway or something tonight , as i didnt feel like cooking , but then i gave myself a kick up the bum , and looked what was in the freezer , and as i write i have a nice dinner cooking , chicken , mixed veg, garden green beans , and threw some onions in to fry too , It will do us a lot more good than take away , , Took my Dad for a blood test early this morning , now my Dad is a spritely soon to be 88 year old , but his hearing isnt great , Apparantly theyd told him it was a fasting blood test , but he must have missed it , so because he'd had some breakfast , they had to reschedule to do it tomorrow , so we go for round 2 tomorrow morning. Decided this evenings job , is to empty my kitchen units ,Ive got far too many "Pots" and some i dont use , and the worksurfaces are cluttered with "Stuff" , soooooo im hoping to pare down whats in the cupboards and put some of the surface clutter neatly in there . and get my kitchen nice and tidy .
Sold another £5 worth of de clutter this week to go in the holiday pot .
Ill tell you about my holiday ,,,,,,,,might seem strange to some , Ive had a pen pal since my early teens ( From America) and she comes to visit us every Summer , been coming for over 25 years , My kids have never known a time without her , in fact she's god mum to my eldest grandaughter , came over for the kids weddings etc, anyway , she always comes over for 3 weeks , and me and her go off on holiday together ,, My husband doesnt like travelling much so hes pleased to ship us off, so he hasnt got to go Lol , this year , we are repeating last year and going to Cornwall for a week , then we split up . i come home and she goes to Glastonbury to stay with other friends , and then we meet up the week after in London , and spend a week together untill she goes home for another year , Seems odd to some people that i travel with my best friend who lives all those thousands of miles away , but she is family to us , . Anyway the dinner is almost cooked so onward ,,,,,,everyone enjoy your evening whatever you are deciding to do x0 -
Hello all! Well done on your milestone 7DW, that's fab!
Moll, I love that you've had a penpal so long. I used to have a lot in my teens but only one remains. There's nothing quite like comign home to a handwritten letter on the doormat!
Fabbing-wise today I have booked myself in for a fringe trim on Thursday. The salon do it for free in between cuts so I don't know why I always leave it so long (literally) before getting it done. Will be nice to be able to see again!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
