Splitting the post because I'm running out of battery.

Anyway I shall need to read the last few pages and catch up,with you all later. I'm off out later so a quick sort out this morning and then tomorrow I need to start thinking about Christmas.

Only two weeks to go and I've done very little so far. And my diary is very full so I need to get a wiggle on.

Have a great day, catch you all later.
  • Hi people, good to hear about all the weight losses and the ESA success, and of course holidays.

My weight has remained pretty static for several months so must make a concerted effort after Christmas. I've lost three stone since last Christmas (yay!), but need to lose another stone at least. I want to be careful though, if my face starts looking drawn I shall stop.

My hair is getting really long, it is halfway down my back, I am so pleased with it. Who says old ladies can't have long hair?

We have sold our static caravan. We lost quite a lot of money, but we knew when we bought it that this would be the case. We have got something back rather than nothing!!

Now for next year and city breaks with our little Mazda sports car. That's our next adventure!

Great news Sugar - have a lovely time with your family.
LL - sounds as if your holiday was exactly the right thing for you in more ways than one.
Money - I've been lucky as I'm an ectomorph - 2 children and 20 years past menopause and I weigh 3lb more than I did at 20. I'm 10st 7lb now. The only changes have been a size larger bra and a thickening of my waist but TBH I can live with that.
Maman - you must live about 25 miles from me - I'm on the Hampshire/West Sussex border:)
I've seen a dress on the internet that I like the look of. I've only ever ordered clothes from stores that have websites before but I'll take a look at feedback before I take a punt.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Another pair of trousers chucked today - this time for being worse quality than they appeared to be on the Internet:cool:

Wondering now if I should or shouldnt order a pair of glasses (ie for everyday wear) off the Net or no. Admitted that the ones I've identified so far as "possibles" are designer ones and maybe that's some protection??
  • Prompted by the comment re build - and I duly looked it up - and I seem to be a mesomorph. The article stated we're lucky - as we lose weight easily.

You heard the hollow laugh from here then - thinking "If that's losing weight easily - I wouldn't like to be someone that 'finds it difficult to lose weight' then:cool:".

Just stuffed 2 more hardboiled eggs down my neck - as they are one of the things that help my stomach feel a bit fuller. Just off to do a stirfry - sauted in vegetable stock again....for dinner.

Money you are indeed fortunate. Mesomorphs are lucky in that they are naturally athletic and their muscles respond well to exercise.

I'm an endomorph. When in good shape endomorphs are typical hour glass, Mariiyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Scarlett Johanson, Kate Winslett, Nigella Lawson. All womanly curves.

However, when we are not in good shape then we are blobs. :rotfl: and unfortunately we gain weight easily, especially as we get older. We are also carb sensitive and have to watch our blood sugars.

I am quite lucky in that although I'm roughly still two stones overweight, I am not actually a shapeless blob, I still have an hour glass/balcony shape. Balcony is when your boobs are bigger than your hips, also quite common with endomorphs.

I think I am fortunate in that being fairly tall I can hide the fact that I need to lose weight simply by cheating and "dressing to look slim". Obviously I want to shift that final 2 stones, it would be better for my health as well as my appearance. It's a slog to lose weight but I'm determined.

Yesterday I went to see my eldest son and dil and we were looking at my holiday photos. There was one of me in my champagne coloured evening dress. Without being immodest it does flatter me, being low cut to show my cleavage and shoulders, then quite tightly fitted through the mid section and over my hips, then the skirt goes into a fishtail shape. Classic Hollywood glamour. :D.

Fishtail shapes are very flattering because they draw the eye away from a chunky middle section. And of course, if you have a decent cleavage then it's a good idea to flaunt it. Men don't notice your less than svelte waistline because they are too busy looking elsewhere. :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway both my DIL and her sister gasped when they saw it and raved over my shape, saying I should show it off more often. They even sent the photo to their relatives in Venezuela. They texted back with words like stunning, beautiful, glamourous, sexy etc. All very flattering but it's not really practical for everyday wear......lol.

When I wore it on board for the captains cocktail party I did get a lot of compliments. Just goes to show what a well fitted garment can do, how the right frock can work miracles. :rotfl: It is a showstopper of a dress and I always feel like a million dollars when I wear it.

This time I wore it with green abalone shell jewellery instead of my usual zwarosky crystals and I think the green worked better because it made more of contrast. Pity they weren't emeralds.......ha ha.

Had a big toiletry sort out yesterday, other than toothpaste and deodorant I think I probably have at least a six months supply. Yesterday I splurged and bought some new knickers and some jim jams.

Not sure what I'm doing today. I want to sort out some cupboards but I might have to go into the city centre to the bank. It's so annoying but there isn't one single branch left now in any of our surburbs. Everything has been centralised, so have to drag into the city centre, brave the crowds and queue for aeons.

And they call it progress. :rotfl:

I'm going to try phoning and see if I can sort it out that way.
  • LL - fully agree that the right dress can work miracles. Remember those books that girls used to read about "how to dress" when we were "coming of age" agegroup? They did have some very valid points imo and one of them was "Highlight the good points" and "Downplay the bad points".

It can change "will do" to "Wow!" or "Errrrrrm....." to "Not bad".

Well good news, I managed to sort out what I wanted with the bank over the phone.

Going to crack on with the cupboard sorting and cleaning so I can put the tree up later this week.

There's still plaster dust everywhere's so need to tackle that first.
  • I'm in between an endomorph and a mesomorph when I did a test once.

I have a large chest so I do tend to get male attention no matter how fat I get, which is good or bad depending on your view.:p My hips aren't that big in comparison.

I'm dyeing some of the clothes I already have today, just the navy dye today. I'm doing my hand towels and nightclothes too so they match. It's always exciting to see if it actually works or not when you open the washing machine at the end.:rotfl:
