    Hi all

Been a while since I was on.

Just wanted to say well done sugarbaby! It is sad that you had to go to those lengths but pleased it is sorted now :j

So I now have less than two weeks until I go to Sri Lanka :T I am sorting out holiday stuff, had to buy new bikinis but fortunately Asda still sell them online. I need proper bra ones as have really big cups but smallish backs so glad I could get some cheap ones! I have lost around 17lbs since end of aug but still have a wobbly tummy in bikini so god knows what I looked like last time I wore one :rotfl:should feel a bit more confident hopefully. Was sorting my pics from Vietnam in jan and I hardly have any with me in as I felt so blugh and my face was definitely a lot rounder!

Having a day mainly around the house until I go to the gym later. I bought a curling wand but it's cone shaped and really thin at the end so the curls look really odd. I'm going to try it again later and if it's still weird will list it on Facebook as would make a great pressie if someone wants tighter curls!

I had my fringe cut in again in Oct which I loved but as I need to pin it back on holiday I've not been able to get it trimmed so its back to being pinned back now! Have booked an appointment to get it cut the day after I get back so can have my fringe again :)

  • Hello Ladies,

Thank you all for your good wishes with regards to my ESA Appeal. :D

I am going to Birmingham today to spend some time with family. I am all packed and really looking forward to some fun times with my sisters and other family. :j:D
  • Hello Ladies,

I have lost around 17lbs since end of aug.

    Well done!:)

  • It was last Saturday that I started sticking to only 3 drinks a day and I haven't found it that difficult. I have always been able to keep up with men drinking pints when I'm drinking out in bars and I just started doing it at home even when I wasn't keeping up with anyone else!:o

The scales say I have gained 2 pounds back but luckily after reading on here I took my measurements and according to them I have lost 2 inches from my waist this week! I'm very happy with that.:A

I must be a lot healthier already, thinking of my liver. I have it checked regularly and it is usually okay but I will be interested to see if it has improved when I get it done next.

I decided not to buy any new clothes to dye for a couple of weeks as hopefully I will have lost some more inches or pounds by then.

Have a great time in Birmingham sugarbaby. You and your sisters certainly have some celebrating to do this weekend. It must be a great feeling having that worry removed.:D

On my way home. Now at sunny Southampton. Catch up later.

Welcome back. Hope you saw me waving as you passed through my local station.:D I can hear the train on a clear day, it's less than half a mile from my home.

I have a number of Asda bikinis clippy. I think they're excellent. Have a great holiday when it comes.:)

You've done well to limit your drinks this week Wednesday. Cutting down isn't easy. Personally I prefer to have some alcohol free days each week but whichever way you approach it it's good for your health and waistline.:)

That's good about the new bras on the loosest clips money. When I bought my new strapless bra in JL the fitter explained that the best fit was to have it on the loosest clips as it would invariably give a bit with wash and wear so there needed to be room for tightening up.

I know there's a lot said about menopausal weight gain/middle aged spread/ slowing metabolism but I really don't think it's inevitable. If I'm honest with myself I know my weight gain was down to lifestyle change in that I was rewarding myself with wine and buying snacks like pasties and pork pies from petrol stations. All that while spending too much time in the car or sitting at a desk. I don't think that's good at any age! My SIL spent years blaming her weight on her thyroid (although it was managed with medication) but when she really made an effort to eat healthily (mainly cutting out snacking on biscuits and too much cheese) she lost weight easily. It can be done.:)

Out again tonight for a pre Christmas function. This one is a mediaeval banquet in a baronial hall.

I'm not doing the dressing up in medieval dress though. At the moment I'm planning to wear my black lace short party dress and taking my tartan pashmina with me. I might change my mind.:)

Ooh - I like medieval dress styles personally and wish I had an excuse to wear them - as they wouldnt be very practical for 21st century life.

Add that they would be even less practical for where I'm living now.
People-watching over the last couple of days and virtually every woman in the street here was in those sort of raincoats or waterproof jackets with inbuilt hood and maybe a pull-on woollen hat. There was precisely one woman with standard type raincoat and I could count on one hand people with umbrellas. That tells you what the weather is like here....

I did buy myself a pair of "chunky" flat type boots - like I see quite a few women wearing here - but made sure they were a bit stylish.

I think one of the things that might be helping is I'm doing waist exercises too - so trying to remember to do 20 deep breaths in through nose and back out through mouth just before each meal - to get those waist muscles "trained".

    Figure currently 40-32-40.

I found I could do up the 2nd loosest notch on my main "trial belt" today at a pinch and the tightest notch of all on secondary "trial belt" at a pinch. Getting there....getting there....

Admits I do have suspicions that willpower (lack of) rather than age are at the root of most peoples surplus weight. I do know all the grossly obese ones I know will just pick up any food that's there regardless and eat it - and it doesnt look to me as if they're asking themselves if it's healthy or they are even hungry for food before they take it. They just take it.

My sympathies obviously with anyone that has genuine reasons for being overweight. I'm only too thankful that when I saw my "typical family doctor" I had at the time for a health problem years back and he could have prescribed steroids for it - he took one look at me/assumed I knew about them as weight-gainers (which I didn't at the time!) and said "I could prescribe steroids for you - but you wouldnt take them would you?" Thank goodness he'd assessed me correctly as "Slim and wants to stay that way - and will soon be back complaining if she doesn't and it's not her fault".

I'm sure we were separated at birth:eek: I also used to drink quite a lot of lager, pints when I went out.It was getting a bit out of hand, both health n finance wise, so I completely stopped 16 months ago .Since then I've lost 3 st, but still got more to lose. Well done hun xx:D

    Good morning lovely ladies

Well here I am home sweet home. I love travelling but I love coming home too. It's dark wet and miserable outside of course but even so it's good to be home.

My bathroom is Fab-u- Lous. I am so pleased with it. Very stylish and has quite a boutique hotel (5* of course:rotfl:). Look to it. I need To buy some nice new accessories but I'm not going to let it get cluttered and overcrowded with toiletries etc. It has built in units so I can store a lot of my everyday toiletries well out of sight.

I really enjoyed my holiday. It was a gentle pace and I had a nice rest. I have to say my face looks a lot less strained and less lined.i think I must have been more tired than I had realised. I slept like a baby every night and often had at least two naps each day. I feel great so the sun, sea air and extra sleep really worked their magic.

No big romance......:rotfl::rotfl: I did make friends with a nice guy and a nice lady - they weren't a couple they were solos like me but I "see" them together. Anyway we have exchanged contact details.

Re alcohol. Although I enjoy a nice glass of something now and again I have never drank to excess - I don't seem to be able to. I think I have a very low tolerance to alcohol so a couple of glasses is my limit. I'm a cheap date. :rotfl:

I found an amazing face cream in Fuertaventura but like a fool threw away the packaging. It's aloe Vera based and my skin loves it. Fortunately I managed to find more in one of the duty free shops so Hopefully I can track down the manufacturer and find a supplier.

If I had had more room in my luggage I would have bought a lot more. I also did some Christmas shopping, nice little bits for the girls and I splurged and treated myself to two nice dress rings. Only gold plated (white gold) and cubic zirconia stones. Some of rings were like knuckle dusters and looked obviously fake but by sticking to more modestly sized stones they look surprisingly real, the "diamond" one looks very effective. Big enough to catch attention and get people wondering if I might be seriously rich :rotfl: but small enough to look genuine.
