it was so cold today and miserable out. i decluttered even more, dishes and coats, curtain and mirrors. i got rid of so many shoes i never worn and now can't it was sad but hopefully some one will get a great bargain for christmas. i go really merciless with decluttering and hopefully if i can stop buying things i will be sorted. i try not to worry about the cost as well if i'm not using it, it is no asset. i used to sell on ebay but i really needed the money then and got some chancers who were difficult. it can be laborious.
my hair has grown to the point i wanted it at the last cut, only took two months. i am scared to go for a trim as maybe it will be really short. i find it easier to manage below the shoulder as i can tie it up.
sugar definitely video strange machines as it is a law a machine never makes a clicky, rattling notice or thingy beeps when the engineer is around. I read that a patient who took a photo of a rash was key to their diagnosis. taking pictures and video allow him to understand the intermittent fault, hopefully it will be a simple fix.0 -
I do hope your washing machine gets sorted soon sugarbaby. It seems so unfair that you've gone to the expense of a new one and still having trouble.:(
That's a brilliant idea to use wet, dark miserable days to declutter sft. I really should take a leaf from your book. I was only saying (well moaning really:o) to DH the other day that after our blitz on the financial paperwork the other week things have ground to a bit of a halt. The problem is (truth honestly) that so much of the 'stuff' is his.
I got my Groupon voucher sorted in the end yesterday and went for my massage and facial. It was absolutely brilliant. The trouble was I was so relaxed afterwards that it was really hard to shift myself and go dancing.:)
I'm staying indoors today having a bit of a catchup as I've been out so much for the past week. I've had my shower and taken a bit of extra time with all the creaming. I've taken the last of the cod liver oil so it's flaxseed from tomorrow humpty.
I'll make an appointment for my eyebrows tomorrow so that's my next fabbing plan.:)0 -
Oh welll - two compliments today. One from my hairdresser on my hair being in "really good condition" (I don't do anything to it other than wash it). I attribute that and my good skin to the genuinely healthy diet I have.
The other being a passerby commenting how they liked a bag of mine.
Still - I'll take all the compliments I can get:D
I think the thing I most dislike about my appearance at the moment is the way my eyes look. I'm used to them being bright eyes (and getting compliments on them) - but they've not looked that way for some time and I wonder how to get that back to normal. I was told at last year's eye test that there are the very first signs of cataracts behind my eyes (ie when they do that photograph the back of the eyes test) and same comment passed this year.
I'm determined not to go on and actually get cataracts if I can help it - so working on how to prevent this. But - I am wondering if that "very slight start of cataracts behind the eyes" is the reason why they look dull these days. Whatever the cause of the dullness - I need to know how to get them to look normal again (ie bright).
Does anyone know if "very start of cataracts behind eyes" could be the reason for the dullness? Or should I look for another cause? I had thought my eyes would go back to normal in appearance with my having changed from a moderate drinker to virtually teetotal - but they are still looking the same at the moment.0 -
maman good luck with the flax seed. I do feel positive about it. It isn't a miracle but
1. My eyes feel less dry, not perfect but an improvement.
2. The bit of arthritis in my hand is being very well behaved, it varies so that isn't a definite but promising.
3. My hair and nails seem to be improving and growing fast!
4. I can definitely see an improvement in my skin, that could be down to the two capsules I take every day or it could be the fact that I am covering my face and neck in it at least once a day or it could be a mixture. The thing that pleases me most is I can see a difference in my neck, the skin is definitely looking less fragile, can't describe it better than that.
I will definitely keep on using it. I bought a big bottle of it from Holland and Barrett and I still have a bottle of the capsules so I am set for the next few months.
I've done my self assessment, I hate that job and have been putting it off since April and I feel much better now it is done. Just got the bill to pay now. HMRC want the money by the end of January and I will pay it then, no point paying it before Christmas.
I'm off to the dentist shortly, hoping for good news, last time I saw her was when I was still suffering after shingles and I was begging her to pull out healthy teeth as I was in so much pain. Things definitely better in that department.
I'm thinking of paying for a bone scan, the NHS won't do it as I don't quality but I would like to know so I can do something about it. I've found out I can get it done for £75 which seems a bargain and there's nothing fab about osteoporosis.
The facial and massage sounds fabulous maman, I've got one booked for next week. It was a birthday gift.
I better go and brush my teeth before I venture out into the wind and rain.0 -
Humpty - I have osteopenia in my spine due to long term medication (no longer need to take!) however, weight bearing exercise and sunshine are the best remedies. Brisk walk, skipping, dancing etc and a sunbathe when you can in our weather all help. I'm still on prescribed calcium and Vit D - not sure they can do much but they wont harm. I think it could have been worse but I am a cheeseaholic
Last 3 scans have shown no deterioration but no appreciable improvement so that must be a plus of sorts.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
silvasava sorry you have that. I'm a freckled red head so too much sun isn't good for me and cheese gives me migraine - I'm a lost cause. Good to have 3 scans with no deterioration.
I take calcium but maybe I should try vitamin D.
I have had a fracture after a very small fall so it does concern me.0 -
Humpty you are right to be concerned with your colouring and the fracture. Can you increase any weight bearing exercise as that would be a great help? The osteopenia doesnt give me any problems - my scans were due to the medication but TBH not sure if I already had it anyway. I just make sure I walk whenever possible and do small things like parking the furthest away from the SM entrance working on the assumption every little helps lol!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Sugar baby - sorry you are going through one of those rough patches. Regarding your ESA appeal, have you looked on citizens advice bureau website? If you type in ESA appeal it gives quite a lot of detail about how to word things, what evidence to gather and so on. You may be able to speak to an adviser in person too though it says there are waiting times. I know someone who is housebound and they came out to see her and were very helpful with her original application for ESA.0
