I gave in, couldn't cope with the mop. Floors now sparkling. There's life in the old dog yet.

It's therapeutic and good exercise plus you get clean floors. Win-win-win!:T
I wore makeup and my new perfume today and used an eye pencil on my brows. My husband said my eyebrows looked the same (!) but I am thinking about trying tinting them.

I had my eyebrows waxed and tinted today and I'm delighted with them. I've had tinting a few times before but gone a shade darker this time. the definition is excellent.:)
I got winter in the quiz.:D

Colours in the Winter palette are cool, bold, vibrant and intense. Colours include pillar box red, magenta, crimson, midnight blue, emerald green, turquoise and indigo.

Seems like I was buying some of the right colours of clothing without realising it.

I must try the quiz but those colours are my favourites so maybe I'm winter too.:)

We do have a Matalan so I'll look in there silvasava. I bought a bra in John Lewis and I'm pleased with it but they didn't have my size in black so I bought flesh colour. That'll be fine to be going on with but I need to replace flesh (done), white and black. As it wasn't too busy in JL, the bra fitter helped me. I've got a 32DD. before I lost weight I was a 38D.:D

It was quite a successful trip and not too busy in the city centre. I bought 1 black and 1 dark grey top from Jack Wills (everything 25% off)

as their tee shirts fit me really well. I do need a slightly more formal black top too but I'll keep looking.

I bought some navy leggings in M&S and some footless black opaque tights. I'm finding that when I go dancing my feet get too hot and feel trapped in tights so footless is perfect.

And I got the compulsory tin of Belgian chocolate biscuits while I was in M&S. There would be many complaints at Christmas if they weren't on the menu!:rotfl:

Im loving all the newbies who have joined the thread recently. Makes me feel less guilty about not posting so much recently. Im not very happy in my new job and I think I have developed a stress rash as a result. My team are lovely and the work is okay. My boss is actually lovely, but difficult to work for, as she is very particular about the way in which she wants things done. Plus, I am struggling with working 5 days a week. I used to work compressed hours, so although it was full on stress 4 days a week, having a day off made up for that. Now, I work 5 regular days and I feel like I am never getting a break. I work in Central London, so commuting is really tiring. I have started to look for a new job, but I may end up resigning and temping for a while. I really miss being able to pick up the children from school.

On a more positive note, I have wanted a leather skirt for a while now, but they are like, £200. I found one in Sainsburys which was under £50 in the recent 25% off clothing event, so I snapped it up. It will look better as a mini, so I want to get it taken up.

Here it is (looks awful in the pictures)

I think it does look nice when I see it on other women. :)

The only problem with mine is that they are a little sparse near the centre. I don't know if they would be covered up properly or if there would be gaps.:o

Yes, I hate those colours too.:D I'm sure I tried one of those quizzes before and I couldn't work out which one I was but that colour quiz seemed much easier to understand.

I went through my wardrobe and took everything that didn't match the winter colours out. There were only a few things but they can all be donated.:A

Yes, I need to get it checked again actually as my thyroid levels were off last time. I haven't had the blood tests done yet as I have had this annoying cold.:( I have the forms and need to do it soon.:)

  • Is the colour thing about what suits you or what makes you feel good? I've never known what colours to wear, I think I like all colours except maybe green as it was my school uniform, so I could probbly benefit from something telling me what to wear. I like yellow but I've got a feeling it isn't right for me but I'm really not sure. I was always told as a red head I shouldn't wear pink but I think it suits me, I might be dead wrong of course.

It's been a lovely mild, dry day here. Sun shining. So uplifting after all the wind and rain.

I havent had my colours done, but i work out my colours myself, through reading about it. Its supposed to help you work out thr most flattering colours for you, but many people will naturally choose colours that suit them, subconsciously anyway.

I started off with working out if I was cool or warmed toned. You can do this through looking at which colours suit you better gold or silver or peach and pink.

This halves your potential colour palette. From there, I just looked at the colours in each palette and I was drawn to autumn.
Humpty you will find that you can wear most colours, but it’s about finding the right shade. If you like pink, you can find thr most flattering shade.

I use my colours as a guide, but I don’t follow it religiously and I sometimes rebel and wear a colour that isn’t in my palette.

I do know what my colours are - and I've worked them out for myself. I bought the book and did it and came out as "autumn".

Just not sure whether I'd still count as the same "colours" now my hair has turned white or no (as it was previously light brown). So I'm white hair, pale (but, thankfully, not deathly white:) skin) and my eyes should be green. I say "should" be because they've changed colour rather to blue in latter years. Another thing I'm wondering about as to whether latent cataracts behind the eyes are changing the appearance of my eyes. With the way my eyes have been looking a bit dull for a while now - and I'm wondering if that is "Cataracts have just started at the back of the eyes" I'm tossing-up between having the cataracts done immediately (rather than wait the guesstimated 10 years before they are deemed Here/Remove Them Now stage) - as that might get my eyes back to normal brightness/normal colour and the added bonus of not having to wear glasses most of the time too. I can see me "living in sunglasses" as much as possible otherwise to hide that dullness (and the sparser eyelashes/eyebrows).

The other option being to try out natural "how to get your eyes bright again" stuff from the Internet and see if that works. Though I'd still have to wear glasses for a few years more and the ones I choose aren't cheap at that.

Figure-wise - I'm still trying my two "test belts" out at intervals to see what hole I can do them up on and I can do them up another hole tighter now again. I see my smart black skirt I intend to get back into is size 14/28" waist (from the days Marks & Spencers put the waist size, as well as label size on clothes). So that's what I'm aiming for and the rest of my clothes should then fit me too at that point hopefully.

I've started waist exercises I found by a couple of people on YouTube. Two slim women with really nice waists and they both advocate getting the muscles in waist area sorted by "breathe in/pull in and then breathe out/let waist go" and repeat and do that several times daily. Now "training" myself into doing it just before each meal and any other time I think of it and it's at least 2 hours since I've eaten. My suspicion is that 1950's/1960's women probably had normal size waists not so much because of the girdles of that era - but because those girdles "trained" them into holding themselves properly and keeping those waist muscles in a "breathed in" position and they stayed there even when the girdles were taken off.
