Morning, your rain dance worked here Alfie,it's been raining since the early hours and still going. It turned chilly in the night as i got under the quilt and haven't done that for a few weeks. I still haven't seen any flying ants but maybe i was at work when they came out.
Your friends meeting sounds interesting leanfun, you will have to let us know if she went on a date.
DS got his meds yesterday and has started them today so will be interesting to see how he gets on with them. I came home from work to a surprise parcel, full of crafting card. There was no letter but i checked the invoice taped up with my address and it's from Paper crafter. But no other infomation.I will have to see if i can find the post.
Hope everyone has a lucky day0 -
Morning,
Rain just started again here. Think we had probably had enough really!
Leanfun, know what your DS means about catching things on planes. DD always comes back ill and we have a few times too.
Think I would have been a bit spooked at a stranger joining me in a cafe.
Would have been suspicious but hopefully your friend has met a nice guy.
Haven't seen any flying ants here Alfie.
Well done on prize indie.
Well DD was supposed to be on her last day of placement today and getting her last assesment but she caught sickness bug last night and was up all night. Said she had never been as ill. Her BF came home from his nightshift to look after her. Seems to be feeling bit better now.
Going to get the ironing done.

It’s cold here today and rained overnight. Could send you some Alfie.
Well done on the win Indie. Hope the medicine helps your son.
Re friend I’ve not heard from her yet. She lives in Yorkshire. She wasn't looking for anyone but had not got to the stage you have of being happy on your own Alfie. Know what you mean Sheils about meeting someone in a cafe. It’s only a year since his wife died.
My brother was by himself for years as his second wife died aged 45. He met someone on his bus. She is younger and lives by herself along the road from him. They make meals for each other and watch films. She’s also become a football supporter. They are just company for each other.0 -
:hello: Hellooeee
Yay, at last!Started with very light rain earlier today,
now it’s quite a decent downpour. :T The grub eating birdies
are in their element at the mo! Another bonus is that it feels
so much cooler today.
Apparently it’s going to be a scorcher next week.

weather map they show up as ‘rain’!
Meant to post the following link yesterday, wonderful news
re pioneering test for prostate cancer (Queen Alexandra
Hospital, Portsmouth). :A :T

Hello all Checking in after a long time out. Hope you are all well?
Sheils I Hope DD is feeling better? There seems to be a lot of stomach upsets at the moment.
It has been Raining on and off the past few days here, so much cooler!
Dating I think would be strange after so long married if anything happened to My DH. My Father in Law and Mother have both been single for at least 15 years, they seem happy but I know they get lonley sometimes. It must be nice to have someone to come home to when It has been raining and miserable outside. To come home to a house with lighting , and a meal on. My mother says one of those "Hive" apps and a slow cooker does that for her.!
Anyway have a great day all. We have a local family healthy living workshop/sports day To attend later, It's good fun and free!Compers challenge 27/70

Good Morning,
Been really wet here but dry at moment and sun supposed to be back in the afternoon. Going to Edinburgh for a couple of nights on Tuesday so hoping the weather will be nice. Seldom go to Edinburgh in the summer as it is so expensive then but got two free bargain point nights at Holiday Inn Express. There is some extension work being done there but we don't have long lie ins when in a hotel so shouldn't bother us. Might need to park across the road but sure we will manage!
DD was feeling quite a bit better by last night just had a few stomach cramps. Hopefully she will get into her placement to finish it on Sunday or Monday. Then that will be her and she can look forward to her graduation in October. Still can't believe she will be a mental health nurse - something I couldn't do.
Nice to see you mummy2. Hope you are keeping ok?
I won £2 with GfK media this month, first win for ages so not complaining! Looks like my Forest Lodge win used up all my luck, still was worth it.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Morning. It’s fine here now.
Hi mummy2threeboys great to hear from you. Hope you all enjoyed the workshop yesterday. Hope you have a great summer with your boys.
Sheils pleased to hear your DD is much better. Well done to her on completion of her course. I think I have told you my mother did the same training years ago. It was so different then. Like you I would not be able to do it.
Alfie great news about the prostrate cancer testing.
Sheils hope you have a great time in Edinburgh expect there will be lots of visitors there. Great you were able to use your points.
Lots of ironing to catch up with here...
Take care and have a good Saturday.0 -
Shiels Edinburgh is lovely, I wish we could go back again, Sometime. Yes hotels are just a base for us. I can't believe how expensive Youth Hostels have become, yikes! Mental health nurses, so in demand. Good for her, my MH has lifted or seemed too. Not feeling suicidal anymore, and dr is reducing my medication . Anywho. What is this Lodge win??
Hi Lean and all xx
Outdoor festival workshop thing was fun, quiet I think The rain put lots off, It was only drizzling lightly. Sunday we have a Bike festival to go to , another free day out!
I'm taking a Healthcare course to get back into work as Our mortgage will be paid off next month , we have had it about 21 years I think. The plan is to sell the house we live in , move in with my mum for about a year and look for a house closer back to her and elderly FIl. I can;t wait to move back home. A big change as we are used to everything on our doorstep. He is planning to go part-time and I will go back Part time , hoping for around 60 hours between us, should work. That's the plan anyway.
Anyway Have a great day xxCompers challenge 27/70

Glad you are feeling a lot better now.
The lodge win was 4 nights in a Forestry Lodge Holiday (run by Forestry Commision) which was worth £545. There are 10 sites in UK. We went to one in N Yorkshire which we had been to before (previous win!). It fitted with other days we already had booked for our wedding anniversary. Was lovely and the lodges have their own hot tubs which we made full use of. We were in it before breakfast as well as at night.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

:hello: Hiya
We had a lovely drop of rain yesterday & throughout the
night. So happy, land was crying out for a decent
rainfall and has now perked up big time!
Been a busy bee this morning, courgettes have suddenly
had a growth spurt so I’ve collected as many as I could
& shredded them ready to go into the freezer. Next lot
(ready for picking tomorrow) will be sliced, blanched then
I’ll open freeze them & pop into containers too. I’ve never
known them to do so well, thankfully I’ve found loads of
courgette recipes online that I’ll be using.
Finished scoffing off my radishesso will be sowing some
more tomorrow. Rest of stuff is also coming on in leaps &
bounds incl runner beans, cucumbers, spinach, carrots,
parsnips, tomatoes etc. Yum yum!
Thought the prostate treatment link was fab leanfun, brilliant
breakthrough. :T
My son & girlfriend have both raised a tremendous amount of
money for their charity skydive in aid of prostate cancer &
received their t-shirts yesterday - can’t wait to see them both
hurtling through the air on the day! :rotfl::rotfl:
Have a lovely time in Edinburgh sheils, your DD has done
exceptionally well & made an excellent career choice. :A
Hi mummy2  Lovely to ‘see’ you again. Pleased you’re
feeling so much better. Is the bike festival tomorrow? Have a
brilliant time.
There’s a wonderful sense of freedom when mortgages are
finally paid off, bet you can’t wait for the final payment next
month! :j :T
Have a lovely weekend all, take care.
