Supermoon 2019: Watch the March Worm Supermoon coincide
with the Spring Equinox
THE upcoming March Full Moon Supermoon will coincide with the
astronomical start of Spring, the Spring Equinox. Here is
everything you need to know about the Supermoon.
The March Supermoon is the third and final of a brilliant
Supermoon trilogy lighting up the skies this year. The last two
Supermoons fell on February 19 and January 21, respectively, but
this one is particularly exciting. The lunar event coincides with the
Spring Equinox, also known as the Vernal Equinox, which in the
Northern Hemisphere kickstarts the season of Spring. Together,
the events combine into an astronomical spectacle unlike anything
else this year.... [Cont'd] >

Morning Alfie and all. You were about early expect you might be off out soon for your walk.
Thanks for the info very interesting about the Spring equinox.
Well done on surprise delivery FireFly. Love surprises. Great book win.
Rose hope your rash goes quickly.
Forgot to ask if anyone watched Garith’s programmes with the children from the school under Grenfell tower on Monday. It was so moving brought tears.
Hope there’s some sun today. Be lucky.0 -
Morning folks. Weather not so promising dull and damp. Leanfun did not see that programme. Had a bit of a surprise yesterday. Put on a jacket I had not worn for ages and when I locked the door when leaving put my keys in my pocket and found what felt like a piece of paper. Pulled it out and it was a £20 note. Must have stuck it in there one day when I was out without a bag. So it is now in my treat jar which I use when I want something and cannot justify just throwing money at it. GK's also benefit from it. Hope I find you all well.0

:hello: Good morning, hope you're all ok today.Morning Alfie and all. You were about early expect you might be off out soon for your walk.
Thanks for the info very interesting about the Spring equinox.
Forgot to ask if anyone watched Garith’s programmes with the children from the school under Grenfell tower on Monday. It was so moving brought tears.
Oh, I missed the Gareth programme leanfun, I'd even seen
the trailer about it & meant to watch it, but totally forgot.
You're right though, I was up & out early yesterday for my
forest walk.
Unfortunately I had to call Hants police on my return home.
I'd spotted two youths (on a motorbike) speeding recklessly
on one of the local forest roads. They weren't wearing helmets
& even worse, they were driving onto the heathland & purposely
heading for & scaring livestock.Thankfully another lady
out walking had also seen the blighters.
When I was walking back home I spoke to another dog walker,
& warned her about the two louts. She told me that there's also
been a spate of dogs being stolen locally (to be used for dog
fighting). _pale_I can recall seeing this on a police watch
programme quite recently.
Anyhow, she told me that a local dog walker actually saw two
men attempting to steal her dog and she was having none of it.
She ran over to the culprits & started tussling with one of the
men who was trying to put her pet in their van, & she managed
to get him to release the dog by biting his hand! :T Needless to
say the men sped away empty handed but the owner was able
to give the police excellent descriptions. :T Do hope the men
are caught. Don't know how these scumbags sleep at night,
makes me so angry.
When I eventually rang the police about the motorbike louts,
they were extremely helpful & said they would inform our local
community police. Sadly, we've also had many hit & run
accidents (usually occurring during the night/early hours), where
animals have been left to suffer needlessly. The reward has also
now been upped from £1,000 to £5,000 to snare these blighters.
The police have also set up speed traps in various parts of the
forest & have already caught quite a few reckless drivers.Had a bit of a surprise yesterday. Put on a jacket I had not worn for ages and when I locked the door when leaving put my keys in my pocket and found what felt like a piece of paper. Pulled it out and it was a £20 note. Lovely surprise to find unexpected cash rose - will come in
handy! :T

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), 21 March, is a global
awareness day which has been officially observed by the United
Nations since 2012.
Down Syndrome International (DSi) encourages our friends all
over the world to choose their own activities and events on WDSD
to help raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means
to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome
play a vital role in our lives and communities.
For this purpose DSi created this dedicated website as a single
meeting place where the global community can share their
experiences and advertise their activities (see WDSD World
Events) and participate in DSi’s WDSD initiatives, including our
WDSD Call To Action, the WDSD Global Video Event, the WDSD
Conference at UN Headquarters, New York, the WDSD event at UN
Geneva, the LOTS OF SOCKS campaign and the WDSD Awards.
Join in with us to create a single global voice for advocating for the
rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome on
21 March. Each year the voice of people with Down syndrome, and
those who live and work with them, grows louder... [Cont'd] >

Can you spare a minute? We'd love you to vote for our charity
partner Macular Society's ‘5 Years Through the Eyes of a Mum’
film. Every day 300 people are diagnosed with macular disease —
it’s the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK. This short film
illustrates just how cruel and isolating this disease can be and
looks at the impact it can have on a mother and her son as he
grows up.
More research is needed to find a cure or treatments that stop it in
its tracks and Macular Society are working round the clock to do
this. Click here to vote: http://spr.ly/6188EkFoC

Every day 300 people are diagnosed with macular disease. It’s the
biggest cause of sight loss in the UK.
Macular disease is cruel and isolating. It steals your sight, your
independence, and your ability to do the things you love. Our short
film, 5 years through the eyes of a mum, illustrates this by
showing the impact of macular disease on a mother and her son,
as he grows up.
Macular disease can affect people of any age — even children —
but not enough is known about why, and there is still no cure. We
produced this film to let people know that, while there is no cure
for macular disease, there are things you can do to look after your
eyes. An eye test can spot the early signs of macular disease and
help you retain your precious sight.
There is only one way to Beat Macular Disease for good. We must
fund much more research now, until we find a cure, or find
treatments that stop it in its tracks.

Alfie xxxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0 -
Morning, thanks for the links Alfie. I worked in a home many years ago for downs Syndrome young adults. They had all different needs, but were lovely. I remember when i first arrived they were all making there lunch boxes for school the next day and all wanted to make me a cup of tea. As there were 20 of them i had to refuse saying i just had 1,lol. If the home hadn't been so far away i would have chosen to work there full time but it was out in the country and over 40 mins drive each way.
Well done on finding the money rose, hope you treat yourself to something nice. It's a dull here at the moment but dry,and not cold so may get some gardening done out back. Hope you all have a lucky day.0 -
Morning. Alfie thanks for the links especially WDSD another great video.
Sorry to hear about your experience out walking. Great you reported it.
We had a spate of dog fighting in a large park a short car ride from us a few years ago. Not heard of any recently.
Indie shame you were not able to work in that home with Downs young adults. Enjoy the gardening.
Rose what a lovely surprise finding the money. Hope you find a good treat for yourself or GKs.
Thought of Rose yesterday I did a massive sheperd’s Pie baking. One large one for us and even larger one for freezer and a quorn one for DS for freezer. Ours usually lasts two days but DD was on day off. Her washing machine had broken and when repair man came he didn’t have part so she brought washing over with GS. She was going straight back but asked could they stay for dinner.
GS was in tracksuit. I might have said already he joined after school football club in January. All the going to the park with the Kicker ball I won last year has given him so much confidence. That was one of my best wins. It’s too bouncy for the garden but brilliant in a large open space. Even I can kick it with a bend it like Beckham.
Dull here now like yesterday but when I went to local shops it was much milder. Definitely spring. Hurray.
Have a good day all and be lucky.0
