    Hello everyone,

Hope you are all okay - lots of nice wins and life treating you all well I hope.

I've just had ankle surgery after a snowboarding accident in April and will be laid up for the next 4 weeks (I've had 4 days and I'm already bored!)
Just bought my first home too - so what better way that to enter some competitions to win some great things!

    Hope you are all well.
Lovely to see familiar faces in here still

    Helen :)

    Hi everyone,

Been a decent day here - got washing dry anyway! Forecast for next 2 days really good.

Went to visit my 86yr old aunt as her son is away in Egypt for 3 weeks so she is all alone. She is doing fine but missing cousin as he pops in every morning.

Hope you manage your DIY Alfie. We luckily have an ensuite as well as the main bathroom. This was essential when 6 of us living in the house!

Glad your son got his blood taken easily this time Indie. I may be talking nonsence but thought I remembered someone saying to drink lots of fluids before getting blood taken. DD always has bother when she goes for blood test. Well done on wins.

Hope your daughter gets her tickets leanfun and weather doesn't get too cold for you. Can't believe we haven't had heating on through the day here in November. Do have it on at night and in the morning.

Good luck with the comps nelie and hope your ankle gets better soon.

Morning, Yes they do say drink plenty of water beforehand sheils. The nurse that took the blood yesterday said the one before had tried taking it out of a small vein, and showed DS where here needle point was. But not everyone can take blood easily.Sorry to hear about your ankle Helen, good luck with the comping. It's a chilly start here today with a bit of fog around. Hopefully it will clear and the sun will come out, as got lots of washing to get dry. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Morning sunny here now but a little chilly

Sheils have a good journey tomorrow hope you enjoy.

Nellie sorry to hear about your ankle. Take care and good luck.

DD1 heard about her tickets on way home from work. They said they had emailed her but she had not received first email and had looked in spam. So she has tickets for this evenings tennis and we will be looking after GS.

Yesterday I had a WEM for a family ticket to Leeds castle for Christmas event. DD1 will use this to take GS and friend with daughter. Rereading WEM see it’s annual tickets.

Hope everyone has a good weekend before the cold weather really hits.

Well done on the wins Leanfun! You're right it is getting a little chiller recently!

The other half has been putting loft insulation in today to get ready for the winter, we moved in and found there's places without ANY insulation! No wonder it's been cold!

Enjoy your weekends everyone, whatever you're doing and safe safe and lucky :)

    :hello: Good morning everyone

I hope you're all in fine fettle today. :) I have just one word re.
plumbing ........ arghhh.:eek: In other words, it didn't quite go
    as planned! :p

The innards of the cistern are just too old. I eventually found
a part which I thought would be ok. Managed to fit it fine (sort
of, after hours of tweeking _pale_) but then the little shut off
screw thingy (on the float arm) gave up the ghost .....
By which time I'd had enough, although I certainly ended up
getting a lot of exercise, running up & down the stairs to keep
turning the stopcock on & off!!

I couldn't see the bathroom floor for the amount of tools lying
around - at one point the loo retaliated & I ended up absolutely
dripping in water from the cistern spout thingy (don't ask :o).
The cat came in, looked aghast, took one look at me, looked at
the mess and legged it away! Very wise! :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyhow, I finally had to admit defeat and booked a plumber -
he's coming (to bale me out :D) first thing tomorrow morning.

Hi nelie  So sorry to hear about your ankle - sending
get well (((hugs))). Good luck with comping, hope you have
many visits from the comping fairy. :D Big congrats on buying
your first home too, it's always such an exciting time. :T

Very well done on winning annual family tickets to Leeds Castle
    leanfun. :j :T

Have a lovely few days away sheils. Enjoy. :)

The following is just one of many ways to help this wonderful
    charity :A .....

    RNIB-logo.jpg?itok=2AL9Hp5d

Don't let your used stamps go to waste this Christmas🎄🎅! Save
them from your cards and parcels and we'll recycle them into
funds to create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

    24204238_6084112044026_4790028376410685440_n.png.jpg?_nc_cat=108&efg=eyJxZV9ncm91cHMiOlsibm9fc2FmZV9pbWFnZV9mb3JfYWRzX2ltYWdlIl19&_nc_ht=scontent.flhr1-2.fna&oh=12f29024f7421b6d346cc60d2bb3ec7f&oe=5C748AD9

Collect your used stamps for RNIB this Christmas and make a real
difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people across
    the UK.

For people who still like to send and receive letters and parcels
through the post, there’s a way of supporting RNIB that won’t cost
    you a penny!

Just collect used stamps from your cards and parcels and we will
recycle them into much-needed funds. They will help even more
people with sight loss access the information, support and advice
    they need.

This is an easy way to help support us and maybe you could ask
your friends, family or work colleagues to get involved as well?

    How stamps make a difference

At RNIB we love and value all stamps - whether they’ve already
been used, first or second class, foreign, first day covers,
presentation packs or albums! We can use them all to raise funds
for blind and partially sighted people across the UK. Stamps are
sold by weight and we raise £20 per kilogram so it is one of the
    easiest ways to raise money!

    Step by step guide

Step 1 – To get your pre-paid collection envelopes or boxes,
complete the request form or call us on 0345 345 0054.

Step 2 – Start collecting all those stamps as they come through
your postbox. Stamps do not need to be thoroughly sorted, but it
helps if you can separate them into British and Overseas (Channel
Islands and Isle of Man count as foreign). Just be sure to leave a
one centimetre of envelope or packaging around each stamp!

Step 3 – Pack up your envelope or box and pop it in the post using
    our pre-paid address labels.

    Why donate?

Every day 250 people will begin to lose their sight and many will
face a future without any help or support. By supporting RNIB this
Christmas, you can help change this and give people with sight
loss the gift of a brighter future.

    https://www.rnib.org.uk/donations-and-fundraising/fundraising-your-community/stamps-appeal

^^^ Stamps can be collected all year round, not just over the
    Christmas period.

Well must get on, another busy day ahead. Have a lovely
& lucky day all and please take care whatever your plans.

    Hi all,

Having lovely time mainly walking the Leeds and Liverpool canal. We visited Saltaire Salt Mills today which was really interesting. I know all about the New Lanark one built by Robert Owen and this was based on it. Buildings amazing and right by the canal too. Our hotel tonight is right on the canal near Skipton. Hoping the food will be good!

Well done trying with the plumbing Alfie. I didn't think you would be able to do anything with it yourself as they are quite complicated . Ours wasn't so bad as once I had worked out how to take the wooden skirting stuff off I could turn off the water at a valve there. Still needed plumber though. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Hope the Drs visits went well indie.

Hope you have heated up leanfun. Got the heater blasting out here as the room was freezing when we arrived. It wasn't that cold here today but then we were walking a lot. Think tomorrow will be colder but we are heading home then.
