Happy Halloween all!
Sounds like your weather is much the same as ours today Alfie, only we have rain due around 3pm apparently!
Very much looking forward to trick or treating with my daughter this afternoon/early evening. It's her first time (she was too young before) and she is super excited! Have got the pumpkins sorted, and sweets at the ready. I've got half day off this afternoon so I have time to get sorted etc and take her out with some of the neighbours.
No wins for me, but did manage to get this for DD in Sainsburys yesterday for the bargain price of £12.50, so has been put away for Christmas! https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/lego-and-bricks/lego-duplo/lego-duplo-santa-s-winter-holiday-10837/p/163315
I have been buying bits and pieces for everyone since August and feel much more prepared this year! Less of a financial burden.
Be lucky everyone! xxFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi all,
Was at the dentist to see how tooth was getting on and I'm afraid it didn't make it. Anyway suppose it was cheaper and quicker than root canal work and dentist had warned he might do that and I would still lose tooth.
Alfie we didn't count the steps although the kids used to when we took them there!
DD loves her car indie and it has so many extras and gadgets. She has a heated windscreen too which she says is amazing.
Hope you are feeling better Euro. Great Duplo bargain. It is nice when you find things over the year without too much effort. I got my DD a Xmas Pandora charm in last years January sale!
Feeling a bit sorry for myself here. DH made me a cuppa but can't drink it until it cools down incase it makes my gum bleed. Had to have my soup a lot cooler than usual too.
Can't believe it is November tomorrow.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

:hello: Good morning all & happy November!
Love the Duplo Santa's Winter Holiday Set you bought for
your daughter, euronorris. She will be one excited little girl
come Christmas morning - excellent price too! :T
I've been buying bits and pieces too throughout the year,
much prefer doing that way. As you say, less of a financial
burden and there's also plenty of decent bargains to be
found!
My 5yr granddaughter had a wonderful time yesterday,
trick or treating (with mum & next door neighbour's little
girl). They had both dressed up as weeny witches, (my
daughter sent me a lovely photo). The girls looked so
sweet & both were mega excited! :grinheart
Hope you're feeling ok this morning sheils after dental
appointment yesterday. At least you didn't have to go
through the ordeal of having root canal work & still
losing the tooth. On a different note, your DDs car
sounds brilliant! :T
Have a lovely and lucky start to the month all & please
take care whatever your plans.

Good Morning,
Feeling not too bad thanks Alfie. Not being able to have hot tea and soup was annoying yesterday but hopefully be fine to do it today. (seemingly can start bleeding off) Glad your GD had a lovely Halloween. No children round our area these days. There were so many when I first moved here and up until few years ago. I had some of the last although I see one or two prams appearing.
Nice you managed to pop in FF and hope things aren't too bad for you and you are managing to keep your weight up.
Wishing everyone a lucky November.

Morning, it's raining here but not cold. Hope your mouth is feeling better sheils, i use to drink through a straw on the other side of the mouth when i had a tooth out. Great bargain euronorris, your daughter will love it.
Sounds like everyone and their families had a good Halloween. We had a party at work then a singer for an hour. Some of the staff dressed up and the residents loved it.Off to Drs ( if we can get an emergency appointment) with DS this morning, he hasn't been well for a few weeks and can't pin point it at the moment. But he was sent home from work yesterday unwell so hoping Dr can find whet is wrong.
Hope you all have a lucky start to the new month.0 -
Indie hope you get an appointment and Dr can help your DS.
Pleased your residents enjoyed yesterday’s entertainment. I feel the safe as you about Halloween. I was surprised this year to find out it originated in Ireland.
Sheils all quiet in our street too. We have two year old next door but no other children about. Pleased you enjoyed your trip. Never been to those places but understand they are very scenic.
Sheils hope your mouth heals quickly. Brought back memories of having the big molar out in Madeira. I had stitches and only cold fluids for a long weekend. Better you had it out than a lot of work and still loosing it.
Euronorris hope your cold is better. Great to find some Christmas bargains. I too have bought things as I have seen them this year. Hope your DD had fun yesterday.
Yes November already. We have two birthdays DD1 this weekend and DS at end of month.
Thanks for the fairy dust Firefly and the autumnal picture.
My neighbour brought me some lovely flowers yesterday. I think she thought it was a bit cold here didn’t take her coat off. We always had a warm house with old boiler but don’t seem to be getting it right with this new hive to adjust the temperature. So much for progress.
Good luck for Nov everyone.0 -
Oh we had SUCH fun last night. It was DD's first time trick or treating and she had the BEST time! She had been asking to go trick or treating ALL week, so all her dreams came true last night. The estate was out in full force, all dressed up, loads of houses decorated and some had gone ALL OUT! It was a great experience. She has LOADS of sweeties (we'll have to trickle feed them to her I think!). We went out with the neighbours kids and they all had a blast too. All in all, a huge success!
Cold is improving slowly. Feel better than last week, but cough is lingering (as they always tend to do!). DD has come down really snotty overnight though and woke at least 6 times in the night asking for me, bless her. Still got tonnes of energy though (as toddlers do!).
Got lots of Halloween bargains in Sainsburys this morning - dress up outfits for DD reduced to £3.60 each, decorations etc, ready for next year. Will go to B&M at lunchtime also, to see what else they have!
Hope your Mouth is healing nicely Shiels. I'd rather an extraction over a root canal. In my opinion, it's less painful and heals more quickly. Still unpleasant though!
Glad your GD had fun Alfie.
Hope your DS is OK Indie and that you manage to get a doctor's appointment this morning. Fingers crossed.
Lovely about the flowers leanfun! Hope you get the temp sorted soon!
Be lucky all!

Good Morning,
Really cold and frosty here this morning.
Hope your son got an appointment and is ok indie.
Have you got your heating sorted out leanfun? We got new thermostat for ours and our temperature is better. (old one was falling apart!) We have my parents birthdays this month. Dad will be 85.
Glad your daughter had great time Euro. Well done on Halloween bargains, remember doing that as well.
Have a lucky day all.

:hello: Good morning everyone
Hope you're all ok.We have a beautiful sunny start to the
day here but my goodness it was chilly yesterday evening and
early this morning - Jack Frost has paid us a visit too!
Brrrrr!
Hope you manage to sort out the temperature in your house
leanfun. I also find it difficult to get my head round newfangled
devices. I love receiving flowers too, family bought me
some recently, they add a beautiful splash of autumnal colours
to my lounge. Sending birthday wishes to your DD1 for the
weekend. xx _party_ Interesting link re Halloween & Ireland:
