Have an embarrassing question...Has anyone had constipation on SW? I've had it for a couple days and I'm drinking plenty of water and coffee which would usually make me go.

Not just we. My mum earlier in the year had to do a over 60s stool sample and it looks like it was the culprit for the next test :/

lucia.... dawyldthing beat me to it.... carrots and beetroot are very good to get things moving.... but do not panic if it is orange or red tint to it!

Beanie:j nice to see you, ope you are ok?

SSM, are you ill? not like you not to go work, hoping you are ok xx

bubbs, I love you with all my heart! x

Good guess, I normally work through feeling ill but could not get myself moving or motivated, whether work or in the house. I slept 11 hours which was lovely, and have done nothing since getting up. But I need to get my head sorted and so some work before Monday.

Must tell you about the saga of the peanut butter .
I needed peanut butter for the spinach (Mr Dusty would die rather than eat that bitter veg without it),and thought Mr Dusty would get a jar while out in the town till I could get to Ald!s that afternoon.Nope,he decided that day of all days to stay home. Only recourse was buying it from corner shop or garage. Garage didnt sell it,so I had to pay a whopping £1.79 for a tiny 200g jar of Sun-Pat. I got a £2 coinin the change which had to go in the savings pot,so not having a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter ended up me outlaying £3.79:eek::eek::eek:
All this because of the snow!!!!!!!!! I didnt get to Ald!s the Thursday before for my usual fortnightly stocking up of their peanut butter (only 99p a jar, everyone else £1.39 or more. I reckon I save more than £30 a year that way) and their fat free natural yoghurt which I prefer to most other brands and a few other items I like from there.
But the annoyance didnt end there. On Tuesday Her*ns had no carrot and swede mash, the van hadnt delivered yet.So I called in there to get it,then walked the 200 yards to the Ald! store which is off from the main shops, already humping a large heavy bag of 4 packets of mash. I walk with a stick which limits the amount of stuff I can carry.
Anyhoo for some reason Ald! mixes its smooth and crunchy peanut butter altogether. Most people prefer the smooth like me.It was nearly all crunchy!:mad: Cue me lifting boxes off each other searching for blue lids. And did I say they were stacked on the top shelf?I was standing on tiptoes trying to shift heavy trays of 12 jars without braining myself if they fell. The result of it? A meagre 3 jars:( I then realized I hadnt got my jars of beetroot at Her*n,so back I trudge 200 yards to stock up on them.I tell you,4 710g jars of beetroot,4 500g pots of yoghurt,3 375g jars of PB and 6 large packs of frozen veg feels like a ton!The shopping bag was full, and so was the carrier I had to slip over the wrist of the hand using the stick. It keep banging against the stick making it judder and slip a bit.so I must have looked odd staggering along. Of course I missed the bus by a whisker, waited 20 minutes for the next, and had a 200 yard stagger home at the other end. Really really teed off, huh,but very little available for snacking! I ate a whole box of Laughing Cow light cheese triangles in seconds flat and then had an apple a banana and a big lump of cheese but due to SW I had no cakes biscuits or sweets in sight which I suppose was good thing, but very unsatisfying at the time.I do deserve a medal for not opening that box of Ritz crackers or cracking open the tub of ice cream. Or ruining my Dry January with a massive whiskey:rotfl::rotfl:
Yeah I can laugh now but I was so not amused on Thursday.Hate to think how many syns from the cheese, and cheese triangles since I'd already had my HEs for the day:mad::mad:

That's a really good idea and we'd be happy to comment on any menus too. It could be the milk but there are lots of other possible pitfalls.

Nicki, we all have to guestimate for eating out but it's surprising where syns can creep in to cooking methods or whatever. id be as careful as you can until next WI.

That's a great story dusty. What a tale of woe! I feel really sorry for you having to lug jars of stuff home on the bus.:A

On the topic of plans - do people here do their plans before or after shopping ?

I started off doing mine before so I know what to buy, but then found I ended up having to immediately juggle / re-do it to take account of use-by dates and any special offers/bargains that I had got, so I now tend to wait until after shopping even though it feels the wrong way round...

I definitely plan before but I can be flexible. I write my list of dinners in the bottom corner of my shopping list and my plan is always based on what I already have in especially fresh stuff but also in the freezer and cupboards. I then buy a minimum of ingredients to make up those meals and also stuff suitable for breakfast. Lunches, I largely have leftovers but I do have pickles and soups made up in the freezer. When I'm shopping if I see a good offer or YS item I'll buy it and rejig my plan as necessary. That being said I tend only to buy offers when they're long life or can be frozen so they aren't used that week.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 boiled eggs, HEA milk
L: Probably lentil and veg soup
D: Aldi lamb rogan josh with HM pilau and SW chips
    Syns: curry 1.5, gin???

I make a mental note but often get similar meals most weeks as it does me 2 meals (as mum don't eat what I eat and oh when he comes lives on cheese sandwiches, chicken and Coke and that it, but is like a bean pole) but it does last over 2 meals and adjust it round shifts at work and use by dates

Dusty, I know I should not laugh but :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Does anyone know where the aldi ragon josh is to be found in the shop? TIA

I tend to wing my food... which has resulted in the habit of grabbing a bag of carrots as I head to work.

I am going shopping later, and have wrote a list (:o)

    It contains:

    eggs
    bread (for the boys)
    Milk (for the boys)
    lettuce
    cucumber
    tomato
    carrots
    ham

    I am stuck!

Assuming your Aldi has been refurbished so the new layout of more chiller cabinets: the lamb Rogan Josh is on the front end of the fixture as you walk towards it. In the old store they were at the back near all the other ready meals. So you go into the store, pass veg on the right, then tinned foods, then the chiller cabinets.

Leave some for me because I'm going after football.:)
