Thanks bubbs .I think I'm probably too mean with the eggs. I generally just make it for my lunch and snacking so I'm reluctant to use so many eggs as it's not a 'proper meal '. Not very logical thinking. :o

It is ideal to have in the fridge for either a proper meal or a quick snack.

I put loads of veg in mine, onions, mushrooms, peppers etc. I fry the veg in light spray, take it out of the pan and put on kitchen roll, then pop the eggs in the pan, cook for a few minutes and turn the heat off, I then put tomato and ham on the top and pop it under the grill.

The only problem I have is the kids eat it - Scrummy

I tend to use 5 or 6 eggs for an 8" flan case. Seems to work OK for me. I very rarely eat it as a snack; tend to eat with salad and/or chips for lunch.

I haven't got an Actifry but do have an air fryer. Personally I don't think it does chips as well as the oven. It has a "cage" to put the chips in and so they get tumbled. The cage is brilliant for sausages though!

Certainly won't be replacing if it wears out though.

Hello and happy New Year all!

While away on a half board break I've managed to be good-ish. A few occasional treats can't have done too much damage I hope. I've been mostly on plan but couldn't control all the contents of the food I was being served. I expect I'll have stayed the same or gained a little on Weds.

Tomorrow pm I'm back home and on the straight and narrow. Will update after Weds WI.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Happy New Year all!

Thanks for everything, kathrynha; it’s a huge commitment. Delighted for your better health news.

    Welcome back, ruby.

Come on in, Pollycat. Are you our first (new) foot?
    Hello, happy35.

    You’ve done well, Nicki.

maman, I borrowed an actifry from a friend for a month (says something that she was willing to let it go for so long) and I’m glad I did. It was HUGE and we didn’t particularly enjoy the end products. When I returned it, she took it to a charity shop.

That quiche looks braw, bubbs. Thanks for the recipe (and all the others who shared their secrets too),

Well, I'm starting the year with +1.6lbs, no surprise there. Oh well. it's a starting point.

My word of the year for 2018 is 'progress' (last year's was not a good choice - 'success') and I plan to make much better progress on my weight management journey this year. For a start, I've tried to list as many 'bombs' that might be hidden, waiting to knock me off and tried to identify strategies to overcome these. I'll keep going back to that. If anyone has any tips, please share.

I didn't stay under syns today, but I am not fazed by that today.
Breakfast: fresh fruit salad & ff Greek yogurt
Snack: shortbread finger (5 - the culprit)
Lunch: hexb sandwich spread with mustard & filled with 50g roast beef (carefully weighed)
Dinner: chicken korma (9 - the first accomplice), made with Sharwoods korma sauce, 1 1/2 small poppadoms (3 - the second accomplice)
    Snack: grapes with hexa cheese

I saw a wee quote when I was browsing today, to the effect that if our car gets a flat tyre, we don't go and slash the other 3, so why do we sabotage ourselves if we overindulge foodwise by eating tons more because we've blown it anyway? Sorry, not very well put!

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was a good day on plan. I only had 5 Syns. Ate a Green and Blacks 15g bar of chocolate and.a Brussel Sprout truffle. I found the syn value for this from my fitness pal and entered the nutritional values into the Syn Calculator. Only had 0.5 Syns. Not sure that I'm convinced that's right. I gave these to Emma last night so no doubt they'll be gone today.

    Today's menu:-

BF : bran flakes and milk (HEA/B)
    Snack: banana
Lunch : HM curried veg soup and grapes
Tea: steak chilli (recipe from SW mag).

Need to start wearing my Fitbit again today after it's Xmas break.

    Have a good day xx

I am (re) starting my SW journey. I need to make this a 'for life' thing as at the moment I am a classic yo yo dieter. I did SW about 2 years ago, lost 2 stone in 6 months and have managed to put it all back on.

I can't afford classes so I am hoping this thread, plus a food diary will keep me honest. Weigh in will be on a Monday. So *deep breath* my starting weight is 14 stone 7lb. I aim to get down to 10 stone.

    Menu for today:

    B: Overnight oats
L: Baked vegetable frittata with salad (leaves, tomatoes, beetroot and cucumber)
    D: Beef ragu pasta bake

Snacks: Fresh fruit (banana, grapes, blueberries and raspberries)

    HEA: Cheese in the bake.
