Slimming Through The Winter - Slimming World Support Thread 2018

Hi everyone. I joined SW just before Christmas and have lost almost one and a half stone so far. I’m just a bit dubious about the point of staying to group. To be honest I can’t see the point of it. All that happens is people get weighed and then the consultant goes around the group individually announcing people’s weight gains and losses. There are no tips or ideas and no sense of support from the consultant or other members. The consultant has never contacted me directly. So ........ is this what all groups are like? Am I expecting too much? Is it just a weigh in then a half hearted clap from everyone when someone looses? The support and sharing of tips is amazing on here so I’d be interested to know what other people think of staying to group. Thanks 😊
Welcome to our group. If you want to join in the challenge, let me know what you want to lose by the 4th March and I will add you to the spreadsheet.
Some of us here go to groups and some don't.
I do and my group is brilliant. The consultant is really supportive and helpful. When she goes round the group she doesn't just say how you've done, she asks you stuff too. Like asks how you feel about it, any meals you particularly liked and what the recipe is, anything you're struggling with etc, and she will ask the rest of the groups for tips and advice to help the person.
If you don't like your group you can always change groups, because a good group is amazingly supportive and helpfulZebras rock0 -
Well done Miss Teach SOTW:j:j:j
Well done everyone on your losses:T:TFinally caught up with the weekends post! Well done on SOTW Miss Teach!
Weigh in for me tomorrow morning and after a unplabned and synful weekend away I think I'll be lucky to get a STS. Oh well, we'll see how it goes.
Pork steaks and veg for tea (if the pork isn't off.. if it is aubergine curry!):D
Funny you should say this, i have been going to a different group for 3 weeks, i stopped the first week and not since, i ALWAYS STOP, thats all they do there, we dont do that at my normal group and will be glad to get back there thurs, we talk about if anyone has had any struggles, share recipe ideas, consultant only asks of anyone wants to share a loss or if anyone is struggling try and sort out what the problem is .Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -

LLS - your taster night shouldn't have any syns as all foods are supposed to be Free foods.
I know that's the theory however round here people often bring low synned stuff. the probably with low syn (even 0.5-2syn per item/serving) is the little syns add up quicker than you think!I can see why you and lush would think of going it alone gettingtheresometime. I would have thought that a consultant should be noticing if you're not making progress. have you handed in food diaries or told her of your concerns?
my new consultant is much more on top of things however she didn't do sw for very long before becoming a consultant so at times theres a few of us that seem to know a lot more/better than her. She is the only reason i am giving another 12 weeks a go though!
plan for tomorrow:
breakfast: yogurt and strawberries OR scrambled egg and beans. depends how much i can get prepared tonight
lunch: homemade soup from the freezer
tea: tasters at group
I am feeling very bloaty/heavyeaten really well all week so not sure what it is but i haven't 'been' in a few days so that doesn't help!
I think if i do decide to go it alone I'd have to use here and also my friend as my accountability. and also instagram haha************************************

Just popping in to update on the day and to congratulate all the losers - especially Miss Teach! Well done, pats on the back all round. Kathryna, glad you are feeling a bit better.
I didn't really enjoy any of my meals today, which means I've not eaten much
B - Overnight oats with cherries and Muller FF yoghurt. I had the coconut with a hint of lemon and it was too sweet. I also had half a grapefruit, some strawberries and a clementine. They were lovely!
L - Crustless quiche with ham and tomatoes. Ate that will mixed oven roasted veg (sweet pot, BNS, peppers, leeks, onions and mushrooms)
D - I made a chicken things in the slow cooker with tons of veg and tomatoes. Served it with plain boiled rice, broccoli, peas and sprouts but I just didn't enjoy so ate very little.
Think I'm going to have a two finger KitKat and a coffee so around 5.5 syns.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.0 -
I ate out on Sunday night so I didn't quite stick to plan. However I ordered cullen skink soup in the restaurant without bread and a thai chicken curry with rice (the healthiest items I could find on the menu).
Today I ate leftover thai chicken curry for breakfast, bowl of pasta plus tuna, sweetcorn and rocket for lunch plus mince with vegetables and rice for dinner. I had a muller light vanilla with blackberries for a snack. Now I'm totally full so don't want to eat anymore.
My indigestion improved as I bought Regucol and took on Sunday morning and also had a level teaspoon of flaxseed today which counts as healthy extra - yay!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -

DH has finally decided he's going to do SW properly rather than just SW meals! Let's see how long that lasts! He's hoping for 1 stone in 4 weeks! I suppose as a man he'll be losing far more than me!
Today's plan:
B - Egg, Bacon, Beans & mushrooms
L - LO faggots; cabbage
D - pork chop tray bake with carrots, onions, garlic, peppers, courgettes and whatever other veg I can find in the fridge/freezer to roast! Will cook in some stock and then thicken with xanthum gum so the gravy will be free:D.
HEA - 300ml 1% milk as usual
HEB - undecided but have Ryvita, Alpen Lights or cereal I can have
Syns - nothing planned but obviously if I have Ryvita then there will be syns for butter.
Denise
I wondered why I had bought anthem gum.... and what the heck it is!Both the cup and the back size going up when you lose weight is unusual.
When your back size goes down, if your boobs stay the same size your cup size goes up.
Could it be a case of being in the wrong size before?
A lot of shops cover your size so you should be able to buy cheap bras still. Asda go up to about a G. It's only when you get to K cup and bigger that it gets really difficult and expensive.
I know. Just don't want a big gain to deal with. I like to be in control
On Saturday I tried bras on. 34 back fits perfect, but GG are too small!A measley -.05 lbs this week - all my own doing of course.
I've been bleating on about wanting to get back to target for this wedding but thinking about it, I do sabotage myself when I know I'm going to have a SW 'holiday' - what' the point of following the plan when I'm going to have a week/weekend of eating, drinking and being very merry? goes my subconscious...I discovered very early on that I cannot lose weight if I'm drinking regularly even though it's a spirit with diet mixer so now I only drink on high days and holidays
Oh well, as SSM suggested, out comes the spanx - so attractive  OH kills himself laughing everytime he sees these, sings about sausage in skinS'ok I get him back with chest hair pulling. We are sooooooo mature
I bleat on about the wedding I am going to..... keep bleating but find something to focus on post the wedding.... so I am wedding, holiday towards the end of the year, 50th next Jan etc.100 -

B -Quaker Oat Granola Honey & Almond with SS milk (HEX A&B)
L - Mixed fruit with FF yog (strawberries, raspberries, nectarine and banana)
D - HM burgers with a mixed salad (leaves, peppers, red onion, cucmber & beetroot) with oven roasted sweet potato wedges, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms
I've had a SP day.
Breakfast/lunch
1 kg of carrots - 410 calories
370 g blueberries - 221 calories
Tea
onion
broccoli and stalk
green beans
beef
I want yog/fruit/allbran - but I am going to resist.... well try... OH is sat next to me eating thorntons....:eek::eek:greentiger wrote: »bubbs, that countdown to August is scary – it’s nearer to Christmas than Valentine’s Day!
Well done, Sunshine and orlao (it all counts).
Tidying up my nest on the sofa this morning really brought home to me how catastrophic Thursday’s ‘Maltesergate’ was. I had 6 (that’s right – 6) empty plastic bags. There may have been more because I am pretty sure I put some in the bin already. I had got a huge box of Maltesers for Christmas and, being a good wee SWer, I decanted them into bags of 5 syns worth each. Then I put the bags in the far flung recesses of the cupboard under the stairs so they’d be out of temptation’s way. Between Christmas and Wednesday I’d had about 5 bags. The best (worst) bit about Thursday’s debacle is that each bag was retrieved individually over the day rather than grabbed all at once. So I went to the cupboard 6 times!!!!!!!! Clearly my cupboard is too organised! There are still plenty left (it was a huge box as I said). But I’ll get my just desserts when I WI tomorrow.
Breakfast: none
Lunch: bacon, egg, tomato, mushrooms, beans, hexb toast & 7g butter (3)
Snack: 3 cranberry & coconut mini crispbreads (2)
Dinner: roast beef, SW roasties, cauliflower, asparagus, carrots, gravy (1), ff Skyr raspberry yogurt, berries
Snack: hexa cheese & apple
Wow that was a bad day, but on the positive side... most of a malteser is fresh air!!
maman, my OH eats the same as me.... but then eats a load of cr*p, he can do a 'greentiger' by eating 5 packs of crisps in one go!100
