  • Good morning all,

I'm buying a new countdown tomorrow evening at group and after that will be going solo if i don't make decent progress.

Must admit I'm getting this feeling as well.

I like my consultant and I like the other members of my class BUT if I'm not losing weight (and I seem to be struggling since before Christmas) then I'm also beginning to wonder if it's worth a fiver.

The consultant doesn't seem to have picked up on the fact my weight has been more or less static - whether this is something she should have and haven't as she has too many people (she openly admits she's got far more people than she should have) I don't know.

Congratulations Miss Teach on being SOTW. Everyone is doing so well.

LLS - your taster night shouldn't have any syns as all foods are supposed to be Free foods.

Mrs R - thanks for the info re men's syn allowance - I thought it was 25 but think that must be because all the men in my group are very large. DH only needs to lose a stone or so. He had 22.5 yesterday so will make sure he only has a max of 17.5 today to pull it back. Shouldn't be a problem as probably won't have alcohol today and none of today's food has syns in it.

    My plan for today:

B - beans and tomatoes on toast
L - fried up LO potatoes & veg with egg on top
D - stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon; chips, green beans and peas. Chicken will be stuffed with garlic & herb quark

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but maybe a couple of squares of dark chocolate later

Well done on your loss lioness!:T What an excellent start to the week.

I can see why you and lush would think of going it alone gettingtheresometime. I would have thought that a consultant should be noticing if you're not making progress. have you handed in food diaries or told her of your concerns?

I started the day with 12.5 syns left for 3 days. That's perfectly fine for me as I rarely use many in the week unless I'm going out.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, kippers, HEB bread, scrape of spread, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, fried LO veg (just one potato, rest Speed), beetroot
D: Terriyaki chicken stir fry with noodles
    Syns: kippers 1.5, spread 0.5, noodles 1
  • Well done on the losses everyone!
I'm STS again this week. Not really surprised as still getting over the flu that struck me down last week and haven't been well enough to exercise (or leave the house) in ages. Been sticking to plan like glue for the last 3 days though and hoping to be able to start exercising again by Wednesday, so relly, really hoping for a loss next week!

  • Finally caught up with the weekends post! Well done on SOTW Miss Teach!

Weigh in for me tomorrow morning and after a unplabned and synful weekend away I think I'll be lucky to get a STS. Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

Pork steaks and veg for tea (if the pork isn't off.. if it is aubergine curry!):D

Not been a great day for me. Ended up being called in to the hospital for a transfusion. Bit of a set back, but feeling better for it. Good job I had put dinner in the slow cooker this morning, otherwise it would have been take away

Hi everyone. I joined SW just before Christmas and have lost almost one and a half stone so far. I’m just a bit dubious about the point of staying to group. To be honest I can’t see the point of it. All that happens is people get weighed and then the consultant goes around the group individually announcing people’s weight gains and losses. There are no tips or ideas and no sense of support from the consultant or other members. The consultant has never contacted me directly. So ........ is this what all groups are like? Am I expecting too much? Is it just a weigh in then a half hearted clap from everyone when someone looses? The support and sharing of tips is amazing on here so I’d be interested to know what other people think of staying to group. Thanks 😊

I think you've been very unlucky with your consultant by the sound of it. In my group Image Therapy is sometimes like you describe but if someone needs help and says so then it will be thrown out to the group to come up with suggests - for example if someone is going out for a meal and asks what's best at a particular restaurant.

My consultant also arrange out of hours shopping trips at Iceland so members from all her groups can get around the shop and get what they need and also ask for advice about syns on stuff that they sell which isn't SW meals, fresh meat & veg. I don't personally attend as I don't really use much Iceland food but lots of people find it helpful.

It might be worth you trying another group in your area if that's possible. When I first started back in 2010 my consultant ran the only groups in the area I live! There are now more groups with other consultants.

If that isn't an option then it's very expensive to attend group just to weigh and you might as well try going it alone and getting weighed in Boots or somewhere similar.
