"Ruling the world" ?! What, working for a call centre earning a paltry £7.25 and hour?!
I worked at McDonalds when I was studying. I'm not ashamed to say it.
I worked temping; factory jobs; cleaning; waitressing etc. Anything that would earn me money.
But you know what? I earned my way up in EVERY.SINGLE.ROLE.
I can see why that concept might be alien to you but don't bloody put down others because you yourself feel that wading through cement smelling of faeces is the way to go. Now then - if you have any more muck you think might stick if you fling it, please do it via PM because I am quite sure these good people reading this thread aren't doing so for your bile.0 -
Hi, can anyone offer me some advice please? I can't get my workbooth cd to work on my pc. I keep getting an error message saying that there are no available networkd and that it cannot connect. I am on line so can't work out what the problem is. Its driving me nuts! Anyone else having problems?
You might need a usb to ethernet adapter. I had the same issue when I got a new pc. If you call tech and let them know, they will send one out to you.0 -
Sensee have been going years. I traced them on a home working forum back to a first post from February 2010. But this was for a new intake and some people who responded those going in on that intake had been there for ages already. What I have read they are more sound than TT.
Talk to a couple of the people who have moved there. Not everyone is enamoured with them.0 -

It has to be said. Pot, kettle, black anyone?
You seem extremely rude and condescending in my opinion, so you surely can't be surprised when people respond to you in a similar manner?
We all will take jobs we don't always like if the circumstances dictate it. You're not the only one. And we all willingly work hard to try and get a better position.
I don't know why this thread seems to deteriorate into a slanging match every time you post. Like I said, opinions are fine, but theres no need at all to get personal with people just because you might not agree with them.
You should maybe read up on forum etiquette.0 -
Been reading this thread and it seems to be mostly about @home. I accepted a job from teletech to work in their call center in Belfast. Does anyone have experiences in that? I'm going to work in bilingual technical support, which sounds nice to me.0

I worked for Sensee for a few months and to put it bluntly: They are the best of a very bad bunch.
They are far more flexible than Teletech but the work is still exactly the same nasty call centre work, getting your head bitten off for 7 hours a day by some unhappy customer because HRG are useless. Also, Sensee will expect you to invest in new desktop computer, phone, headset etc after being there a while. And you'll never see a Bank Holiiday ever again. And you'll probably end up working all of Xmas because the "old timers" book them off as soon as they're available.
Sensee tried to make the job sound flexible but it wasn't for me at all. You book youself into a rota every week and you will always end up working until 8pm because that's where the demand is. They also don't know what they're doing when it comes to training and also have a revolving recruitment door because after a month or two people get sick of working for them and do a runner. Sensee like to make out that they're "growing rapidly" which is why they have the recruitment drive but it's not true = people were resigning left, right and centre when I was there and it appears this is still the case. Also, they'll take on ANYONE. And I mean anyone. On my training course, the majority of the class room had never used a computer before so how they got the job beats me.
Call centres aren't the best places to work at the end of the day and the homeshoring ones are even worse - they think that because you are working from home, that is reward in itself. Well it's not, it was horrible.
I'd never go back to homeworking again after my experience of Sensee and a few other companies. Call me old fashioned but I quite like the camaraderie that happens in an office or organisation. I've also made some very good friends that way.0 -
I really don't see the point in the snide comments.
To read the comments here you'd think working for ANY of the homeshoring call centres is different to working for an office based call centre. Basically it isn't-the things like high turnover, training issues, moaning customers etc apply to BOTH.
Any job is what you make it-you can moan and nitpick -and be miserable , or you can get on with it and dwell on the good not the bad -or you can get out-but it wouldn't hurt certain people posting on here to show a bit of respect for the choices of others.
I'm comfortable at Teletech -is it the best job I've ever had? No -but it suits my lifestyle-allows me to fit another job around it comfortably -and I don't have to tolerate the pettiness of office culture (not to say TT don't have some petty people-just it's a lot easier to let it all wash over you when it's on a chat screen you can minimize-but most of the people I work with are nice and don't bring their baggage or insecurities to work with them). I don't sit in traffic jams, I don't pay out a fortune in work clothes, my staff canteen is ace and there's never a queue to get coffee and I finish work and instead of a commute home I'm back doing the things that are important to me within seconds-lunch and teabreaks are taken in my own garden-No it's not perfect but it has a lot of good things about it. Like any job a lot of it-is what you make it ! Some people enjoy hating their jobs...me I think life is too short and definitely too short to worry about people who are so insecure that they deride others choices -whilst they fantasize about ruling the world LOL Some people are SAD-whoever they work for !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
