I was supposed to go to this interview yesterday, but didn't due to having a migraine (I have already attended one group interview a couple of weeks ago). Was this for a customer service role or tech support role, and does this role include sales? Have you been advised when the training starts? Sorry for all the questions, really wanted to attend the meeting yesterday, but was not able to.

Its a tech support role. And no, it doesn't involve any sales at the moment.

But they ask that in every job.

Not on the application - that's entirely uncommon (although not in Northern Ireland, I understand - which doesn't invalidate my point, just makes your comments understandable). Where it's used commonly is on the optional equal opps form - most often, in the private sector, completed after being offered the job.

Hasn't stopped them employing plenty of people from all religions.

That's good. But it makes the question seem even more strange since any discrimination on the grounds of religious belief, unless you're a religious organisation, is illegal.

I get where you're coming from CJ.

    Let it go :)

Working for TeleTech isn't worth the stress, especially for £6 an hour!

Btw, regarding Sensee, how are you getting on?

    I've still yet to apply.

Do they seem like they've got it together?

    Just being sociable, dear ;)

Some people in this thread really need that £6 an hour. If they hadn't sucked quite so spectacularly as a potential employer, I'd be one of them.

And as for stress - Teletech have nothing on the idiot under my window who has been playing his bagpipes for the last 4 hours!

    Och aye the noo! :)
  • I've changed my mind and am scheduled in for tomorrow. Can someone who is currently working for them please reassure me that they are not a nightmare to work for, and it is a safe move (I am currently employed but really need a change)

After all the negativity in this thread recently - I'm all over the place about whether to take it or not...

    Grin.

Good luck with it all, I hope the move turns out to be a good one... and even if it's not, they're not the only option out there.

I have been with them for 3 years. Besides all the red tape, that in all fairness you get in every company ... I have found them to be a good job and reliable.
There is sometimes overtime if you want more hours. They always pay out and haven't made any mistakes in my pay as yet. Whilst it can be difficultI have always got my holiday leave in. Not always when I wanted it but have been able to take it. TIP: Book the earlier the better. I booked christmas off in January! The holiday situation used to be dire with not being able to carry leave over but this has now been sorted. Yes there are targets and other red tape pressure. You get out what you put in. If you look at it negatively you will come home feeling like doggy do do but if you go in with the attitude do the best you can for your customer, keep your head down and out of the red tape around you and go home. All will be well. The bonus situation is also better - it used to be nearly impossible to hit bonus now it is quite easy!
  • Thank you for that Rebekah - I really needed to hear something like that. Really appreciate you saying that :)

My current job is a nightmare for holidays too, as it's retail, so I'm used to that. Also used to the red tape.
