Lets hope your attitude with your employers is a bit more pleasant than your attitude on here with other forum members.
Its not a competition for which is the best @home company. I'm going on the information I had available to me at the time, at some point I may look for a job elsewhere outside the home, at the moment it suits me to work at home. Not quite sure why you think Teletech was bad before it even started, you must be psychic. Have to say you sound very much like an ex employee, and whilst I completely understand the drawbacks of working for them and am under no illusions, I don't really see why you feel the need to have a sarcastic pop at people on here every time you post.
As for Sensee, it might be better, I don't know, but I'm not prepared to faff around getting used to another system for a bit more money per hour, particularly if it involves sales which I'm honestly not comfortable with.
Think I'll go with the principle of "better the devil you know" till I'm ready to move on.0 -

Look, when you're done with the boo hooing and all the rest of the stuff you learned at over-sensitivity school, just try and be objective. You asked questions and misrepresented the facts. If you don't want to be corrected, please check those facts first and if you think you might not want the answers, don't ask questions.
As for how I worked out TT were crap - have a re-read of this thread next time your boredom levels reach breaking point. It's all here in black and white and, you should note, not just from me.
Yep, I can be sarcastic - or "straight talking with added humour that you don't like" as I would more accurately refer to it, but I am not here to be your best friend. I am, believe it or not (and I care squat if you don't, fyi), here to help people surmise both sides of this story - and, 'Sanity', that's the freedom of opinion and judgement. People will read this thread and make their own mind up. 'Cause that's what a forum is for.0 -

Yes I have a degree in sarcasm as well, but I save it for forums where its appropriate.
If you were as observant as you say you'll notice I'm one of the people who have often been scathing about TT. I have a right to be, I've been there a long time.
If you're not an ex employee, then you can only go by whats on here. Some people are fine with the place, others aren't.
But I digress. I'm not sensitive, like you I'm very outspoken, but hope I manage to do it without trying to look superior to those I'm addressing.
Anyway, you clearly know best about EVERYTHING so I shall watch this space with baited breath for your report on Sensee after your first 6 months. I'd be delighted to hear you're still as enamoured with them then as you seem to be now.;)0 -

Oh? I'll assume all your recipients of said sarcasm will agree with that statement. If they do you're either using it wrong or you're just rubbish at it. See here, for example:
Entirely helpful to the OP, no doubt. If you were as observant as you say you'll notice I'm one of the people who have often been scathing about TT. I have a right to be, I've been there a long time.
So, it took you years of working out they were crap. Are you irritated by the fact it took the rest of us a lot less time?If you're not an ex employee, then you can only go by whats on here. Some people are fine with the place, others aren't.
"Some people" possibly don't aspire to better. I do. Sorry if that offends you.

You do that, love. And while you're sat here hitting the refresh button on your piddling wage, I'll be off ruling the world. Have fun0 -
Just to throw in my opinion as an anonymous Teletech employee:
I wouldn't recommend joining up unless there is some big benefit for you in it. I drag (:D) myself to work every day because I have my own reasons for needing to be home. Fortunately my reasons aren’t going to exist forever, but there are many who depend on this kind of work in the long term.
The sad thing is that it really doesn't need to be so awful, save for the silly way things are done by Teletech/Sky.
In ALL customer service/tech support jobs you are going to get flack from the customers. It's the nature of the job. The problem here is that you also get more flack on the other end from your employer. You get given contradictory goals which are impossible to achieve, and it's often up to you to defend the truly abysmal way Sky treats its customers. I'm talking people without broadband and phone for weeks (or months sometimes) because Sky can't get their finger out, and it's your job to fob the customer off about why. All the while you're getting it railed in to you that customer experience is key, and indeed getting rated down on customer satisfaction by the same customers who are just pee'd off at Sky for very good reason.
The pay is poor for the work you do and the conditions you work in. Maybe if you're someone who can just tune out and get it done, but I feel horrible virtually lying to customers day in/day out.
Like I say, take it if you really need to, but I don't think it'd be worth it just for the convenience of working at home.0 -

I'm the one hitting the refresh button while you have the time to sit trawling through previous posts quoting me? And you're planning to rule the world from a virtual call centre earning 20p an hour more than me?
Yeah. Ok then.;)0 -
Woah!
Awkward moment to jump in here, but I heard back from sensee and because I have a laptop, I would need to upgrade to a PC before they'll consider me further.
Bye bye to them too. Not worth my while.
For now I'm staying where I am. Better the devil you know I guess. I have a yr of college to do, after which I can move into what I want to do, if the job market has opened again.
Thanks to everyone for your feedback, and help. Was much appreciated. I am in no doubt now that teletech was not for me0 -

"Ruling the world" ?! What, working for a call centre earning a paltry £7.25 and hour?! :rotfl:
I worked for Sensee at the beginning of this year and the experience was AWFUL. The training was all over the place, trainers didn't actually know what they were supposed to be doing and the job itself entailed Argos customers having a go at me for 8 hours per day.
It wasn't worth the £7.25 per hour. The Head Of Operations there was very rude too and she sounded like she smoked 60 cigarettes a day instead of helping the staff.
They close the call centre for a few hours every day too so if you're full time, you'll end up working early mornings and then late evenings most days.
It was a shambles really and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The only good thing was that they "employ" you and pay your tax etc. But in regards to flexibility, not a chance. The rota system always meant that I was left with the unsociable working hours.
It just wasn't worth the hassle, call centre employment is the work of the devil anyway in my opinion, nothing more than a factory line with a headset. Sensee will employ any old person too it seems, some of the other call centre advisors on the training course with me were not the brightest of people!
There are lots of different opportunities in this life, you don't have to choose the poor working conditions which these home working call centres seem to attract. Also it's not secure, Argos and Sky could pull the plug at ANY time on Sensee and Teletech, just like Vodafone have just done with Conduit, resulting in many redundancies.0 -
Hi, can anyone offer me some advice please? I can't get my workbooth cd to work on my pc. I keep getting an error message saying that there are no available networkd and that it cannot connect. I am on line so can't work out what the problem is. Its driving me nuts! Anyone else having problems?0

Six years as a virtual call centre? Really? Cos I can only trace that part back to last September. But like I said, might be a lot better but only time will tell. Everyone posted how great TT was at first, its only when you have been there a while in any company that you start to see any flaws to be honest. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy in this financial climate to have a job, despite the fact I don't work for a perfect company. Lets face it, who does?
Sensee have been going years. I traced them on a home working forum back to a first post from February 2010. But this was for a new intake and some people who responded those going in on that intake had been there for ages already. What I have read they are more sound than TT.0
