  • It doesn't really build trust, does it?
I mean "if" they offered me a position, I'm giving up a steady, secure job to take it, and seeing them messing us around at this stage of the game - it doesn't show much respect for employee's / potential employee's.

I would only leave my current job, if I felt this opportunity was going to give me a secure job. The last place I want to end up in, in the current climate is out of work.

Hopefully you wouldn't be that daft. At least not until you've started with them. You at least don't sound that daft.

I spoke to the Advertising Standards Authority earlier today, who asked me to gather screenshots of adverts, emails etc. I entirely don't want to do anything at all to this company except ensure that their future adverts speak the truth. If I can prevent a single person feeling as utterly deflated as I do right now then it will be worth it.

OK chill your boots guys, I have just had a conversation with an @Home representitive. He (or might have been a she, not too sure!) said that if it's an @Home vacancy, ALL interviews/training etc are ALWAYS done AT HOME.

Now, I want to know if I applied for part or full time, because I really want part time! (Or do they ask us what we're looking for at interview?)

Why are you trying to start an argument? Everyone is in the same boat.

(BTW if you guys are "desperate" for homeworking as CJ nicely put it, Sensee are taking on a load of people at the moment because of demands with their current home retail contract)

Allow me to feel cross about a company who lies to potential employees - and to not feel in any way nonchalant about it.

You haven't read the thread, have you?

Wrong. Sensee too are supplying only potential demand and not actual. But - if you do well in the online test, you could well get a future place. But beware - it surely is future.

I was employed by Sensee a few months back. I had to resign though because they wouldn't let me go from full time to part time hours. They are a fantastic company to work for though and the pay is £7.25 P/H which is reasonable for home working. I also know that they're growing at an extremely fast rate as I still keep in touch with the people I was in training with, lots of scope for promotions etc. I have been informed that they now credit check candidates though, they didn't do that when I applied. Also you have to pay for the Basic Disclosure YOURSELF which is strange seeing as we were "employed" by the company.

You have to understand that with these kinds of company, they have to wait until they get the "nod" from the contract that they're recruiting for. I waited for what seemed like AN AGE for Sensee to finally give me the webcam interview and then after all the training and even working for them for a few days they wouldn't let me cut my hours as I was accepted by University and there's no way in hell that I am going to give up my chance of a degree for working in a call centre for the rest of my days.

Also, you must appreciate the amount of applicants these Home Working companies get. But I do agree, they shouldn't keep people waiting around, they should let you know what's going on as people have notice to give or want to know whether to look for other work etc.

That's the world homeworking though, I've been doing it for nearly 5 years now and it's still as unpredicatable & uncompromising as ever! I'm used to it now.

    :)

I hope you grilled them on why do they say you have to go in to Belfast for 6 weeks training then! I don't let em off the hook lightly.
TBH its a good job but communication and organisation is not there best thing! Never has been from my training days til now ... that said they have always paid me on time and to the full/
