Hi, I promise you all I've read most of this thread (bar a page or two) over the past few weeks and am still confused...maybe I'm just a bit thick, I don't know!:rotfl:
Can someone please spell out to me in simple terms:
What I need to have in order to apply/work for teletech (extra monitors, pcs, phones, things like that)
If there is definitely a guaranteed, regular wage after training.
What all this business is with setting up limited companies...however much I read through the first few pages of this thread, I still don't understand.
I can commit to hours no problem, just want to know if it's worth my while applying, basically!
This isn't a self employed opportunity. This is an actual job, with a wage. You just get paid fortnighly into your bank account and get a wageslip via e mail.
All you need is a pc, with ethernet connection, and a phone line you can use for the duration of your shift every evening.
Training is 3 weeks long. You are sent a disc to login to the system at shift start, and a phone/headset. You will have a job after training, they tell you before that if you have been unsuccessful. You don't pay for the training, they pay you the normal hourly rate while you are in there. Current wage is £6 per hour, rising to £6.20 after you have completed 12 weeks probationary period.
I have worked for TT for over 3 years and if you have reasons why working at home will suit you better, as many of us do, this is ideal.0 -
Just dropped in to see how training is going
Hope you sorted out your holidays Dory-I'm off now til Christmas (and no I have NO idea how I managed that)
Hoping the snow eases off soon as at the moment getting to Heathrow is almost impossible from here
Maybe I'll finally have Siebel or whatever it's called by the time I get back LOLI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
yaaaaaay headset arrived today....... going into second week of training, first week went in so quick.....0

Hi All
Where do you go to apply for this opportunity? Also is this only open to technically minded people, or will they accept people that are computer literate? I'm currently with Arise, taking calls for catalogue companies - orders, enquiries etc, would this work be similar? Would appreciate any info - have looked back at all the old threads but only saw one link to actually apply, but as that was posted in 2007 wondered if it would still be valid. Thanks for any info.0 -

Its tech support work but you don't need to be a pc expert. Go to the link above and apply through that.:D0 -
Sanity - thanks for clearing things up; I was getting confused between teletech and arise as I've been reading both threads
Are there any actual costs to pay out before or during training then? For example with another similar company I red about, there are headsets to buy, crb checks to take etc.
If I apply today how long before I start training roughly - are there set training dates?Make £10 a day challenge July - £29/£3100 -

You don't pay them anything. Once you are in training they just pay you the £6 an hour you will get afterwards. If you apply today you should get a call or e mail back within the next few days to let you know about an interview etc.0 -
The only charge I can think of before you start is to do with the identity checks. Some solicitors will charge you £10 or £20 to basically sign to say they confirm that you are who you say you are! Other than that, nothing.
With regards as to when you'll start, I don't think theres another training session due to start till some point in the new year although by then I think they'll be able to run 2 at a time (although one could be our up-training)
Duchy I did get my hols sorted thanks for askinggot this week off which will be nice and then only a few more shifts till my xmas break which i am definitely looking forward too!!! :d

The new training sessions don't start 'till the new year.
And I was lucky enough that a random solicitor I went to in the town near me didn't charge me a penny!0
