  • Is it just me that's finding them hard work to talk to!! I applied online and got offered a telephone interview today or thursday at 4pm, however it's too short notice for me to get someone to watch my kids for 2 hours (they're 2 and 9 months so it's not even like they could sit quietly)

I couldn't find a number, so I used the chat help, who told me to call the States- then gave me a UK number eventually, I called there and left a message but no one has called me back, but I really want to speak to someone- I want to know about the training/shifts/hours etc, to work out if it's actually going to be viable for me to fit round childcare etc, but can't seem to find a way to speak to a "person"- any ideas??

The recruiter told me the training was 4pm - 8pm usually, you must be available to work from 4pm till 11pm during the week and from 3pm - 11pm sat and sun, you wud be doing 20hrs per week, and I beleive it depends on the needs of the company as to what actual hours you are given, but when I was doing the interview, the recruiter was very specific in telling us we must be willing to work every weekend.
  • Thanks- weekends aren't an issue for me, but working from 4pm might well be as it would mean finding a childminder for 2 kids just for 1.5 hrs until my partner came home, which is going to be tricky, I was kind of hoping I'd be able to work either 6pm onwards, or for a few hours in the day and book them into nursery for a morning/afternoon, 4pm is going to be a real PITA time to start, especially if there's loads of training and I need to do it every day
Hoping to get money smart enough to avoid working full time and paying extortionate money to a stranger for the privilege of enjoying my two beautiful children for 40+hrs a week until my son is 3 and my daughter starts school in 2012 :D

when you go live on calls are they many hours available ontop of the minimum required?

Varies tbh. There is normally a fair amount to pick up. Can be quiet for a while and then loads. Seems loads at the moment but when you newbies join on calls it may go quiet as we will have more staff.

Can't wait till all you new guys start :) might mean a few easier nights for us all round :)

If you've got any questions about things like tax codes etc I'm sure Andy would help you out if you asked him? (I'm assuming you have Andrew V as your trainer atm)

Alternatively both RebekahR and myself both work for them too so we'll help where we can :) (as she already has been from the looks of things)
