I have now opened my cards from you - lovely sentiments and comments which are much appreciated; I am, by nature an optimist and you've reminded me to look on the positive. I am now, also,of the opinion that not much can happen to be now that would be more devastating than what I have gone through, so my priorities are 'reset' even though I am usually good with words explaining this - 'sticks and stones may break my bones' attitude is tricky to put into words.

I have cleaned the kitchen and bathroom and vacuumed upstairs. I have been to M&S and bought two Oakham chickens half price which I have passed on to mum as I have a full freezer, though I did squeeze some haddock and casserole beef and two fish pies (individual) in.
I remembered to buy white thread and I bought some strong thread as I have some trousers with 'post' buttons that I keep managing to snap off.
Xmas dinner menu has been discussed; I'm not going mad as I am cooking for only 5, two of whom will be working anyway so theirs will need microwaving when they show.

And, just to warn you all, I WILL be starting next week's thread on Sunday Night

Really busy day at work today - whoever decided to increase their prices on January 1st and spark a pre -Christmas rush deserves a slap in my book. Anyway, got home to find that DH and DD had put the tree up and decorated it, and it looks lovely. It's been lovely reading through the thread this evening, as I'm having a bit of a low moment - DH has gone out again, DD has been lovely then quite horrible - but you've brought me back to the level. Thank you x .

Posi vibes winging their way to you, roundtuit, to be passed on to NZ.
Frodders - you sound so positive right now, it's fab.

    ETA - Dizzy - wow! Have a g&t on me! X

    Evening folks

The RM stage-coach must have stopped at Edinburgh to give the horses a rest. Hopefully they'll reach here tomorrow :D

Why is my kitchen in such a state when DH is at home everyday and so does the housework?
I have just the same thoughts atm here. DH is now 'in charge' of WUDUPA and clean round the kitchen in the evening, whilst he's not working. However, I have come to the conclusion that his standards and mine seem to be poles apart. I have put the same dirty saucepan lid back in the WU three times in a row this week already and I don't think he's touched the hob - I'm just trying not to look :rotfl:

Aww shucks...fanx my lovely. I intend to set fire to the tin slum in the New Year, so any huge bonfires reported on the mid-Wales/Shropshire border may well be me!

I am so thankful it's at an end. Don't get me wrong, there is still much to do, but we are sleeping in our own, comfortable beds, with warmth and a feeling of peace that I had forgotten. I did have tears yesterday at a leaking dishwasher, but an heroic carpenter fixed that for me, whilst my new sparkie jested that at least we were flood-proof now ( made me chuckle through my tears).

    I am home. :D
