Himself went out to get food for tomorrow three hours ago. I lounged about nursing my current hunger induced migraine for an hour and then thought 'stuff it' and started on the kitchen.
Radio 4 on. Midwinter poetry readings.
Food particles scooped up.
Rubbish binned.
Washing up sorted into various precarious piles like a game of Catering Jenga.
Packets and jars put into cupboards. Perishables wedged into fridge.
Leak emanating from under the fridge mopped up. Mental note to empty fridge and check if something simple or purchase of a fridge-freezer is on the cards, rather than just a freezer.
Corner of countertop cleaned.
Draining board degrotted.
Noxious soup drained from washing up bowl, contents decanted onto piles.
Bowl washed.
Sink unblocked and cleaned.
Sides degrotted.
Hob discovered underneath bits of food and gloop.
First load of washing up done.
Second load of washing up done.
Third load of washing up done.
Fourth load of washing up done.
Table reclaimed from yesterday's crud.
Appliance tops cleaned.
His cacti were placed in a foil dish to take on some water before being put back in their pots and housed on the table.
Two hours after I started, Himself came back in from his twenty minute trip to the supermarket round the corner. Haven't checked if there's any food, but there were three more sets of lights purchased and immediately hung across the living room and the coffee table I cleared and cleaned is now sporting a festive tablecloth, candles and, for some reason known only to Himself, a light up skull and model of The Moon. And he put the washing up away when I was dealing with the furry gits, who apparently had never been fed before in their lives, have fought over the new doormat/scratchpad and are now being uncharacteristically civil to one another in settling right next to me and allowing their personal exclusion zones where each other are concerned to reduce from their customary 15 foot to four and a half inches.
His jobs are now going to be;
Make me tea.
Feed me.
Sweep the kitchen floor.
Clean up everything he uses to provide food to the exact standards the kitchen met when he walked back in.
But he's currently dealing with the Lead Singer's emotional issues again. Lord help us if he decides to turn up tonight. Lord help Himself if he suggests it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
