Me again. I've washed up the breakfast dishes, cleared the hotspots and taken the dogs to the park which was a disaster. I have the laziest dog ever in Poppet. I didn't take her pushchair, so she was almost constantly being dragged along between barking at every other dog and people dressed as Santa doing a 5k run. We were back home within 40 minutes. Littley was a darling.
I am just having some chocolate and a cuppa as I'm now mid way through getting the Christmas room ready (normally known as the hobby room). I've had to iron the table cloth, so did a lonely shirt at the same time.
Catch you all later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Fantastic news, Dizzy - sooooo pleased for you. You have been so strong and truly deserve a happy Christmas in your home xx
Was up early and into town to collect final present from Arg0s - I like this click and collect malarkey. Nipped to Mr M to get a few bits and they had loads reduced to half price already so got some bargains for me and some for Dad too.
Now need to finish stitching Mum's card before we go for a festive pub meal tonight.

Thanks to everyone who sent me (and DH) Christmas cards. They are lovely, and will fill the kitchen windowsill

DH has gone to the railway to take cards and check up on what's happening
A local friend called with another card for us and came in for a 10-minute catch-up.
My friend with the baby wasn't answering the door when I called round, so I hope all is well (I left a note).
Last of the local cards delivered, and some printer cartridges for recycling decluttered into the post box on the way home.
Gammon is in the SC.
One lot of holly has lights on, two more to do now. Need to crack on and get every room tidy and dusted before DH comes home - he has promised to hoover through.
Rosie will need a walk, and I will need a sleep again this afternoon: pain in my hip and shoulder kept me awake half the night
I need to bake the Yule log, some lasagne for tea and a cake for next weekend
I will be back on the thread at some point tomorrow, but here's wishing safe journeys to anyone who's going away for Christmas.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need x0 -
Dancemum so sorry to hear about your Uncle. I wish him a peaceful Journey.
HB Echinacea is sadly contra-indicated with lupus, but I have heard of lots of people doing well with it.
Yay!! :T:T:T Fantabulous news! We. Are. In. The. House.
I think it's a "male" thing. Mr LW often does the WU, and I grab the tea cloth to make room in the drying rack; if only I had £1 for every time I've had to reject something because it's not been washed properly.:cool:I have come to the conclusion that his standards and mine seem to be poles apart. I have put the same dirty saucepan lid back in the WU three times in a row this week already and I don't think he's touched the hob - I'm just trying not to look :rotfl:
I am so pleased I'm not the only one. :T I never ever wear anything on my feet in the house (this is why we have carpet tiles in kitchen and bathroom) and frequently not outdoors either, specially in summer. My feet seriously dislike being confined.(Digress: the USA flylady wasn't for me as she said you had to wear shoes!!! I only wear shoes when I step outside, and even then, not always! Indoors it's socks mostly, or bare feet if it's really hot, slippers if my feet are really cold - and they're kicked off the minute I warm up. Shoes are NOT required for flying at this house thank goodness
)
I have done 2 x WM loads (1 of my clothes and 1 of bedlinen) and fed and walked Ronnie. We met another dog named Ronnie! A Golden Retriever girl, can you believe - I assume hers is short for Veronica.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Christmas room is ready. Dogs have had a second walk, little terrors took it in turns to sit in the pushchair. First time Littley has ever had a go.
I am mid way through the frog which is the paperwork (end of year accounts). Yuk.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
((Hugs)) Dancemum.
Dizzy - I'm still grinning for you. So pleased.
My Flylady cards have just arrived! :j :j Thank you so much and thank you to Natty for organising. I am going to open them later when Planet Rock isn't blasting from the LR and the sound of DH assembling IK3a furniture has lessened.... Although I am waiting for him to realise that I didn't build it last week as the Christmas tree is taking the space up where said furniture will fit. :rotfl:
I did a quick dash along the motorway with DSis this morning to visit my Mum's old neighbour and drop her off some goodies. Cooking planned for this afternoon, and the bread is currently proving. Apart from that, nothing too onerous planned for today. Yet.

I have been having problems with my left knee for about a month - suspect it's rheumatism. Anyway it was particularly painful this morning and I felt sorry for myself and wrapped myself up on the sofa.
Didn't help so I have taken ibuprofen, sprayed it with deep freeze and battled on.
I have hung up one ribbon of cards (I made HM card hangers years ago and use a stapler set on pin to attach them, then they can easily be removed for recycling). They hand on picture hooks.
I have also put kids gifts in gift bags (also recycled).
Need to label them.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Kitchen table reclaimed from carp, cat removed, table wiped over, cat removed, table wiped over again.
Kitchen table recovered by Himself with carp, gingerbread dough in tin on top.
Gingerbread dough with cat prints embossed upon top placed in oven after cat removed and sworn at.
Corner where SC lives cleared and cleaned, cat removed, cleaned and things newly placed upon it gathered from floor. Slippers placed to dry. Cat left to drip dry after being sworn at. Floor mopped. Cat water bowl refilled,
Himself in process of being sworn at about the no-show Christmas present.
Coffee table found under piles of detritus.
Cat removed.
Coffee table wiped over.
Eight-inch-high Tree relocated to shelf and fairy lights arranged artistically around it.
Five inch high present for Himself wrapped in sketchbook paper and decorated with ink sketches of Dartmoor & The Sound. Placed on shelf under Eight-inch-high Tree as alongside made it look even sorrier for itself than it would ordinarily.
Bunch of Mistletoe dangling from non functional light fitting, making note to have a go with berries and the tiny Cherry Tree out the back. Cat now transfixed by dangling thing.
Sheepskin retrieved from bottom of bed and artistically draped over side of Himself's armchair. Other cat is currently welded to it.
Throws draped over settee despite cat's evident wish to be left alone/fight me for ownership of the settee/stay under the throws/get out from under the throws/get back on top of the throws and fight me for the best spot..
Still not got vacuum cleaner out.
Bloke has finished being sworn at, now listening to album of musician he has met a few times and is one of his favourites, where I had to tell him first thing that there was an announcement that the guy has just been diagnosed with a brain tumour and is trying and raise funds for it to be treated (would have been fine with making a contribution, was going to suggest it, but he dashed off to check the internet and made a payment before even speaking to me ). He is playing the album Very, very loudly.
I think I'm just going to stay out of the way down here for a bit.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
