Morning all
Hope the solstice celebrating went well LW
Fantastic result Iona
Natty hope you are alright.
Hugs to all who need them
Anyone want a rotten cold? I feel dire. Doesn't help that on Christmas dinner day I went flying at school. Not outside in the ice that would have been normal. No I had to do it in the dining hall in front of everyone while wearing a santa dress (just to draw extra attention to myself) was trying to clear a tray someone had been ill into and rushing as I needed to be outside with my class. I was wearing rockports so I didn't slip in the ice on the way to work and managed to catch the loop on one lace into the metal eyelet on the other boots. It felt like someone had tied my legs together I hit the deck with a heck of a bang and now have yellow knees where the bruises are fading grazed elbows and the mother of all backaches. It must have been quite a sight to see but amazingly none of the kids laughed. So that combined with a stinking cold and feeling shivery and disgusting is not helping me get everything done that I need to.
On the up side ds1 enjoyed the special birthday dinner request yesterday so we had veggie lasagne while he had tuna lasagne followed by a slice of vianetta (sp) then he went down the pub with his mates while I shivered under a blanket watching it's a wonderful life
Need to pop down shops in a bit then do some ironing and a final few bits of wrapping but don't plan much else.

Morning everyone :hello:
Judging by the wall of alcohol fumes I walked in to on the landing this morning DS had a good night! Don't think I'll see him this side of lunchtime.
The fog had gone last night so I went and picked up my prescription - another tick on the list.
Round 1 this morning =
- do my dailies
- wrap birthday present for DS to take this afternoon
- wash Pip's headlights!
Have a good day everyone

Good morning everyone. :hello:
Well done on not just passing but getting a brilliant mark too Iona.
My washing machine is working once more so I managed to get several loads done yesterday and now my flat resembles Widow Twankey's (Oh, no it doesn't! Oh, yes it does!). I also managed to clean out the little furry's cage ready for our journey south tomorrow.
This morning I discovered a hole in the living room floor next to the door. I suspect I've had a mouse (probably more) uninvited guest. Then on my way to work whilst driving down a narrow road which has room for two vehicles to pass....IF they both take it easy....a lorry hurtling towards me hit my wingmirror. The mirror is slightly cracked but I can still see out it and managed to clip the rest of the wingmirror back together.
Today is my last day of work in 2017 and for the first time in my life I received a Christmas bonus. :j0 -
Wow LoL as annoying as a broken wing mirror is sounds like that could have been a lot worse, hope you are ok.SPC~12 ot 124

Thanks. I'm fine, I just got a bit of a shock at the time.0 -

Ditto. Healing vibes for you, Mrs MP.
Sorry about the wing mirror Lover of Lycra and congratulations on the bonus.
I must start wrapping today. Having had two rotten nights sleep I'm not going to fret about whqt hasn't been done. OH has been trundling around with last year's wreath and string, so that saves me a job. I heart OH.
ETA: Thanks, Natty - and Narco!Better is good enough.0 -
OH is home until the 25th so I have to at least pretend I do something..
Our 'prep' list.. if it gets done it gets done, if not, who cares?!
1. Toys from front room upstairs
2. Tidy middle room
3. Tidy back room
4. Wash, dry, put away ALL laundry
5. change ALL bedding
6. Vacuum through
7. Tidy/vacuum girls room
8. Take last box to CS
9. Sort last few bits for wrapping
10. Purchase 10 more bags for presents.. I get the big supermarket reusable ones, they are much cheaper and more durable than the paper gift bags.
11. [STRIKE]sort presents into bags[/STRIKE]
12. move random boxes from girls room into spaces now vacated by christmas gubbins
13. Sort and deliver my mothers stuff to her house, to be brought back on the 26th lol
14. Clean the kitchen to within and inch of its life
15. Nag newspapers off my mother for the litter tray (and some money too!!)
IF this lot gets done I might think about other stuff.. I'm contemplating christmas dinner for the 29th.. or tomorrow..
OH's mother is threatening to come the 28th.. OH is NOT happy.. she has complained several times about not being here to see the girls at christmas and OH offered to go pick her up so she could stay over christmas.. which is a massive compromise for me as I do not like other people here at christmas.. but she is going for a pub meal with his sister she sees all the time so can't come.. so he is upset at the rejection and feeling very unwanted and unimportant.. I don't know what else to suggest! They can't come and give the girls presents on the 28th anyway as I have just told DD1 I will have the grandbeasts so she can go to the hospital appointment she has booked.. they can't give our girls presents in front of a 5 and 3 year old and not give them anything that would just be cruel, plus OH is at work that day. His mother is wanting his sister and her abusive OH to come too .. I don't really want her OH here if I am honest, they bicker constantly like 2 year olds, last time they came they were outside drinking beers just before they set off back (and before they came in the house).. drink driving on the motorway!!! .. which I am also absolutely not ok with.. if they kill themselves that is fine but in those situations it is rarely the culprit who bears the brunt of any accident.. I don't know what else to suggest to make the situation less difficult.. OH has 2-3rd off and not in work until 4 on the 4th so I suggested we go for 2 nights then.. but I'm not getting any feedback from anyone.
Anyway.. enough of their silliness.. I'm going to crack on with bed sheets shuffling and toy flinging delegation.
shopping list: (sorry nowhere else to put it right now)
cheese
philly
ritz crackers (I can eat these without feeling ill)

Himself had the grand idea of going to Scandinavian Blue and Yellow Towers-Land yesterday. Wasn't bad at all, didn't find anything he wanted to get, but he now has some spiky plant things (had loads as a kid) and an Aloe Vera (because he tends to frazzle his arms when he's cooking). And lots of food.
I introduced him to the joys of the free refills of coffee there - normally, coffee is essential but fairly ineffective, but their coffee is quite remarkable (two cups and I'm bouncing off the walls going round, saying 'that's cool!' 'look at that!' etc - he had three cups.
Sitting at the tram stop to go home, we're both fidgeting and jiggling about and decide to go to a large supermarket on the way back (we don't do shopping) - he's scooting down the aisles going 'WHEEEEEE', I'm picking up almost every alcoholic beverage known to Man and he's now working out the best time to go back and buy several packets of Swedish coffee. Dropped the purchases off at home and went to the pub for a pint (just the one) and then back home for 9.20pm, having wibbled about getting a new freezer and dishwasher and opportunities for him to get jobs and ideas for moving and on and on and so on.
By midnight, we're both crashing and I'm laying there feeling my heartbeat shake my entire body.
Slept alright, though - and he was up cleaning by about 8am.
I'll get myself sorted and out in a minute.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

have washing on the line. Sis has donated SIX pairs of trousers, 4 of which are jeans that are now too big for her. I can get into some of them - and in fact am wearing one pair, but really, they all need shortening a bit.
I have also been to buy a new shower head as I drenched the entire bathroom this morning as it wouldn't hold a 'safer' position behind the screen. This one's lighter so I am hoping it will hold.
I have some oomph so I am hoping to get something done.
What I want to achieve...
clean kitchen
clean bathroom
write menu for xmas day and related shopping list
write remaining cards and post (neighbours)
find cards already written and stick in car for posting by handDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
