Valli, you are moving in exalted circles :rotfl: [Fails to find curtsey emoji]
I have just received my mark for the college assignment that took me all those weeks in October and November and I have been given an absolutely amazing 77% :j :j :j Considering that this was history, once my most hated and feared subject, I am - to put it mildly - over the moon with what is almost the best Christmas present ever
I have finished sending the ecards and letters, moved the lounge furniture round to maximise the space for 6 growing grandchildren, got a refund on an overpriced item which we did not need, bought DD's amaretto, and also found a butterdish and a few more outdoor lights in the bottom of my basket when I reached the till.
Must cook a meal now, as I'm going out this evening.0 -

Well done ionafan :T:j:T I'm so pleased for you xx
...and things like that happen to my basket too: but I've never found a butterdish and outdoor lights in mine; more likely to be a cream cake or crisps - or cider, as happened yesterday. Curiously it is often items beginning with a 'c' as chocolate, cheese and crackers have also been known to leap into my basket when I'm not looking
Well ladies I'm extremely chuffed. 3pm on 21st Dec and all presents are wrapped apart from DS's. It's never been known!
DS is driving down to Hemel Hempstead  tomorrow (to go to a party - why can't he go to parties that are somewhat nearer than 2.5 - 3.5 hours south of here?
) and I'll wrap his presents after he sets off tomorrow afternoon.
If DS wants me to wrap the presents he's bought for people I'll do that on Saturday when he gets back. I like wrapping and DS has mild dyspraxia and finds anything like that frustrating to say the least.. but he does wrap what he buys me
And Christmas Eve will be a wrap free day. woop woop.
I'm nearly on top of the pots and the laundry, and I'm [STRIKE]hoping[/STRIKE] determined that by Christmas Eve both former mountains will have been dealt with completely.
There's plenty more needs doing - but one step at a time. Thank you ladies I couldn't have done it without you xx

Hoping you get some spoons Honeybear.
House was very nice but it's an expensive visit. However xmas decs in the shop were half price so I treated myself to a souvenir bauble.

Enjoy your celebrations LW and Happy Winter Solstice.
Well done Iona. Just shows us flyladies are clever as well as super organised!
9.5 hours paid stuff done. One whiskey drunk slightly quickly. Feeling a bit giddy, still some more work to do tomorrow but I will be taking it steady much to the annoyance of my Scrooge like boss.
I want to wrap another couple of presents so I can deliver these tomorrow. DS has just told me that his GFs Mum has bought us all a present - a kind of "from our family to yours" type thing. Will have to sort out something suitable for them from the local shops. Think the deli does some nice festive hampers. Better add that to my list!0 -
I have a christmas tree that is finally decorated, not just the lights on it. Just have to find the angel to go ontop, but that means I have to go climbing over christmas decorations in Dave's office and I really don't feel like that at the moment. I'll make him do it tomorrow while he is working from home :rotfl:
Called into our minor injuries hospital on the way back from therapy this afternoon. I went away none the wiser as they only confirmed what I knew it was - whiplash..so keep taking the painkillers.. Wow I sat in the hot waiting room to be told what I already knew!!
On the bright side I did find out you can report a car accident online to my local police. Just have to ring my insurance company tomorrow to tell them, even though I'm not making a claim as there is no damage.
Thank you all for your kind words regarding the crash..

Evening all
Congrats Iona :T Really well deserved and done
Hope you're enjoying your celebs LW and Mr LW and had a lovely meal
Hope you soon recovered Natty and pleased it's not too serious
Dailies done
Spanish lessons done
Visited SIL with card and duly admired the new paving
Last sm shopping for Chrissy done at Al*i and Morries this afternoon. It wasn't too bad actually as not very busy, plenty of stock(inc all the cheap veggies) and lots of tills open - better than a normal weekend in fact :rotfl: All scanned and put away, though a bit of a squeeze in the fridge atm. DH is picking up the turkey crown and sausage-meat from the butcher's on Saturday and that will be it.
Tomorrow I'm cooking a big pot of coq-au-vin to take over to DSD on Saturday for a family get-together and will be leaving the gammon cooking in the SC Saturday for us for Sunday. So that seems to be the food organised for the vacation period :j
I have two loads for the WM/TD tomorrow and I'm planning on running the hoover around everywhere as well.
Hugs, sticks and spoons all round if you need some
Hope you all have a super Friday

Good morning everyone
Well done Ionafan. :j Fantastic!
It's my last day at work today. It will be a bit of a sort out / tidy up sort of day, so not so onerous as long as the phones stay quiet. DH only has to do a half day at work today, so he is in charge of collecting DD from her friend's. You would not believe the number of times I have had to go through the directions with him.....
Presents are all wrapped as of last night. I'm so pleased as I was always a Christmas Eve person ( actually often early Christmas Day) but I've gradually got better over the past few years, thanks mainly to this thread and you lot. I have even delivered some.
Must dash, going to be late if I'm not careful!
Have a good day. Help yourselves to spoons - I'm looking at you, HB!0
