The point in quoting tariffs that aren't available was to demonstrate that Plus tariffs are only advantageous for above high users (as defined by Ofgem)!0

Because merchcon55 and I were debating Fix'd 20 9.0 v Fix'd 20 4.0 Plus!1

Where "debate" = you refusing to believe that someone's done the sums and discovered that your beloved Fix'd 20 9.0 would cost them more. Posting random prices for consumption that isn't @merchcon55's won't change that fact either.0

It is all very clear if you read the thread, but they need to be using the same usage.1

For my usage and my region, my calculations are correct. I am indeed on the lowest price option. Both my wife and I work from home PRE CORONAVIRUS. We do not skimp on heat in the winter. We would both rather work in a comfortable environment.
Considering we do not have to pay any additional rent for our workspace/offices, do we really care if turning on the heat all day in February winds up costing us another £50-£60 in the month - of course not !
So while we do not grow "the funny herb" as you amusingly asked, we do indeed use a large amount of KW for our gas heating.
The statistic for high user of Electricity - I must admit I find that one puzzling. Over the years I have asked friends what their annual electric usage is, and for the most part, its more than the 4400 kw "high user" amount (I assume this is an OFGEM statistic). If you enjoy cooking and baking (which we do), have a dishwasher, have a laundry machine which seems to constantly be on, and of course the dreaded clothes dryer, then one is going to use a good amount of Electricity.
I am not going to "debate" peoples lifestyle - and to each their own of course - I simply know that our lifestyle is not too dissimilar to our friends lifestyle, and for the most part, we all seem to use more than the "high user" amount of 4400kw.0 -

The owner of British Gas is preparing to launch a new cut-price brand as it battles to revive its fortunes. Centrica has struck a deal to use a low-cost IT platform to run a digital-only "challenger" brand to try to win back customers who have deserted Britain's biggest energy supplier and moved to cheap start-ups.

Electric boiler? Our central heating and hot water are heated by a GAS boiler.
Without going into great detail, it would be problematic to get gas lines to where our dryer is as well as venting. I do thank you for the idea though.0 -
