I'm no fan of Look After My Bills because it virtually guarantees that you'll never be on the lowest available tariff combination, but its USP is that you don't have any hassle at all because everything is done for you: the clue is in the name.

And if the 300,000 customers of Look After My Bills knew about One Green Flex 2.0, not only would they continue to have no hassle at all because it's a standard variable rate tariff, but they would also have cheaper bills forever!

The ASA usually have a bit of a concern about statements like that so it is just as well you don't work for them... (hard though it is to believe that at times :) )

I'm on the same tariff as merchcon55 because Fix'd 20 9.0 is not only the cheapest dual fuel in the UK, it's also cheaper than separate supplies
    In fact I am on Fix'd 20 4.0 PLUS.

Since locking in this deal, OFTM cheapest Fix would now cost me £90 a year more. If I used different suppliers for Gas and Elec, then it would be £57 more a year.

So a slow creep up of prices over the past 3 months

merchcon55, I apologize for my assumption, but you must be a very high user for Fix'd 20 4.0 Plus to beat Fix'd 20 9.0 because my standing charges are only £0.11/£0.11 per day and your standing charges are £0.25/£0.26 per day?

Clif no apology needed LOL. You are correct, particularly on gas we are a high user. This is a good illustration of where there is no such thing as "the best rate". Depending on ones circumstances, what is best deal for one (higher unit cost with lower standing charges) may not be best for another (lower unit cost with higher standing charges).

This was an interesting switch in that, for the first 4-5 months I will be paying fractionally more (+1.3%) for my electricity than the supplier I left (Symbio). It was the Gas rate though that attracted me, even though a tiny increase in Electricity Rates.

As it happens the timing of the move was excellent - as unless something dramatic happens, I have locked in the optimal heating rate for winter 2020-21. I always prefer to change in the Spring/Summer, so that I know what my rate is for the entire winter period.

merchcon55, if you go to Cheap Energy Club Edit Details and enter Fix'd 20 9.0, I would be amazed if it's more expensive than Fix'd 20 4.0 Plus, unless you've got a cannabis farm?

Be Amazed :) 9.0 would be £5.32 dearer for Gas and £24.65 dearer for electricity - we use about £700 of each fuel. Sadly, no cannabis growing - just geraniums LOL

High users typically consume 4300 kWh of electricity per year and 17000 kWh of gas per year, for this usage Fix'd 20 9.0 is £1,012 and Fix'd 20 4.0 Plus is £1,025, whilst the rollover tariff for both (One Green Flex 2.0) is £1,043!

What's the point in quoting tariffs that aren't available?
For Londoners, One Green Flex 2.0 is more expensive than OFTM separate supplies,  which are more expensive than Symbio/Zog.
